Iris has created an adorable craft book.
The content includes a fun, if unusual, range of animals, figures and background structures. The dog and cat are staples, the fox is a contemporary classic, and the people figures are always popular, but the skunk... It's a choice. Nothing wrong with it, but it definitely has a different tone.
Helpfully, the book includes a comprehensive guide to materials, tools and techniques, which is ideal for beginners but is a convenient reminder to an experienced sewist or crafter.
This adorable book contains full color photos, step-by-step instructions, and patterns in the back in the book. The projects all look like so much fun, although I am especially interested in making the mushroom dollhouse! I hope to get a finished copy for myself when it comes out in March.
I am immensely grateful to Walter Foster Publishing and NetGalley for my review copy. All opinions are my own.
This really is adorable. It has useful basic information including how to stuff tiny plushies with a toothpick. You could make a teeny skunk. Why would anyone not want to make a teeny skunk immediately?
As well as people who already love to sew their own plushies, this might appeal to people who have bought every single Jellycat and still want more.
There are critters from the natural world and also dolls and teddies, and accessories to match them all.
These projects will work up quickly and give some instant gratification. Who wouldn't want that?
Lovely book to have if you want to sew some really tiny and cute felt animals or dolls. There are thirteen projects, some of which I found really appealing and a few less so. The step by step instructions with photos are helpful. It made me itch to dig out my stash of felt.
This is a well written craft book. It's great for beginners and experts due to the content and the explanations of various aspects of sewing with felt and following patterns.
The patterns are easy to follow and super cute.
I love a picture pattern with written pattern included. This is great even as someone has been sewing for many years it's nice to know you're doing it right and have the pictures as reference
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a cute book!
This book has patterns and pictures for some cute felt miniatures. The book covers what materials to use, sizes, and how to assemble the miniatures. The patterns are tricky to use in the digital version, but seem well made.
Wonderful how-to guide on making felt creations. The patterns are simple and can be sized to range from tree ornament to bed stuffie sized. The book takes you through supplies needed and how to best use your supplies. The items featured are adorable and can easily be modified for personal flair. It also gives you a basis on which to make your own designs. Wonderfully presented!
Tiny Felt Cuties & Creatures by Delilah Iris Excellently organized, with photographs and simple step-by-step instructions. There are even examples of how to overcome some common problems that may arise along the way. Cute, adorable animals to make, as well as other projects.
The hardcover book will be an invaluable resource for anyone interested in DIY felt crafting.
Thank you to Delilah Iris, NetGalley, and Quarto Publishing Group for the opportunity to preview the book.
Well this little book is absolutely adorable! I need to make the mushrooms and skunk!!
This craft book has detailed pictures to go with the instructions on how to make the critters, dolls, mushrooms, and houses. There is a cute little pet bed to make, too!!
The first section gives the details, the supplies needed and photos on the how-to. The next section is where you find the patterns.
Overall, a very cute craft book that anyone interested in felt crafts will love!
Thank you #NetGalley for #TinyFeltCuties&Creatures
Cute crafts! The instructions are very easy to follow and I love how the book comes with the patterns you’ll need. The pictures help a lot too. Tons of adorable things you can hand sew!
This is a darling book with clear instructions and loads of photos to make some really whimsical little felt creations like a skunk, mushrooms, a teddy bear, little girls and a variety of little houses. It covers all the basics and has pictures of every step for every project. Patterns are provided at the end. I’m looking forward to making some of these with my kids. It’s truly a delightful book.
I read a temporary digital arc of this book via NetGalley.
A wonderful book outlining what to do with all those colorful sheets of felt. This book instructs on creating whimsical creatures and woodland homes. Templates included.
I downloaded this book today looking for something creative to do. The instructions and materials list are so simple, I could instantly start with things I already had in the house. I love how cute and endearing the projects are, and the clear photo instructions kept it from being too intimidating to start. The patterns are a little fuzzy, but that could just be the ebook version - it didn’t prevent me from using them at all. The author has a great way of laying out instructions and it was easy to follow. I fully intend to make more from the book and will be suggesting it to other sewing friends both seasoned and beginners.
A sweet, comprehensive collection of felt projects suitable for young children and gifts. Lovely format and easy to follow instructions making it accessible to beginners
A cute and fun guidebook! With easy-to-understand instructions and helpful photos, this is a great book for beginners. I'm looking forward to using this with my younger siblings and making these adorable felt creatures! I've already started gathering supplies to start working on these ASAP.
This book is very well put together. It's perfect for anyone that is looking to have an enjoyable hobby to get started with that is very affordable!
Big thank you to Delilah Iris, NetGalley, and Quarto Publishing Group for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book!
If you’re looking for a new hobby or to make something new and cute, then this is the book for you. The instructions are straightforward and well explained. The pictures included also help you know what your end product should look like. The patterns are included in the back for the felt cuties you’re working towards creating. This book would be great for teenagers and up.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this title.
This is a delightful book! It's packed with cute and accessible projects to make for yourself or to give as gifts. It would be great for beginners and those with more sewing experience would also enjoy the patterns and the inspiration. The book contains a short introduction, a section on the materials required, tips and tricks, basic instructions (with photos) for a few simple stitches, step-by-step instructions for each project in both text and photos, and the pattern section. There are patterns for various small animals, little dolls, clothes for the dolls, a mushroom, a mushroom doll house, a dog house, and more. Each project is small so the satisfaction of holding a finished object arrives quickly which can be a big encouragement for anyone new to a craft. I really like the idea of using felt because it's a forgiving kind of fabric. I love that it's all hand sewing. Once of the wonderful things about this collection is that creating these projects does not require a large investment in materials and tools. Because they're small, scraps of felt can be used.
The layout of the book works well. The instructions are very clear and the photos are sharp. Both the written instructions and the photographs would allow even a complete newbie to have success with these projects. The assortment of patterns is nice and I love the portability of the projects.
This book is very well conceived and put together and I can highly recommend it. Happy stitching!
Really great book, it has a heap of easy projects that would be a fun project to do with the kids. It has simple step by step instructions both written and photos. I’m going to get some felt in for the next time my 5 year old grandson visits. He will have a blast helping with these projects. A good book for some family fun. I would definitely gift this book.
This was not what I expected. I guess I should have looked a bit closer, as I was thinking this was needle felting. But once I got over that oops moment, I did go through the book and the instructions. What I liked? The start which outlined the basic stitches, tools, etc. The fact that there are patterns for each of the items at the end, which you'd be surprised that some books like this don't have. The fact that everything in the book that you make is so wee. That everything had clear, easy to read instructions with photos.
What I didn't like? Not much. I am not sure if I will attempt any of the items, but I think that the houses were by far my favourites.
If you like sewing or want to learn to sew, and you have someone who would love to have little tiny dolls and the like to play with or display, then this book will be a sure hit.
Love, love, love this book! The little felt critters are adorable! I already have plans to go out and get the materials to make them asap. Great details, love the patterns at the back and just an overall fun and creative book.
