Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I enjoy good romcoms with a bit of spice but after a good beginning where Bellamy showed spontaneity in the face of adversity this failed to hit the mark for me. The plot was thin with Bellamy ("it's French" - really, do you mean Belle Amie?) a weak main character who fails to stand up for herself. I didn't feel any chemistry between her and Shane and I thought the spicy scenes were somewhat clinical. There was some odd phraseology: 'Shane's cell phone had morphed into something roughly the size of a moose' - what is that supposed to mean, and weird page-fillers - Shane has lived in his accommodation for a year, why would he buy wine with a cork forgetting he doesn't have a corkscrew? The frequent use of swear words and blasphemy was unnecessary and the final straw an I stopped reading at chapter 22.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Bellamy and Shane. Bellamy works at a bank. Shane is a mechanic. They meet when Bellamy’s car broke down near where Shane works. There was an instant attraction. They start dating. They each have issues but together they work it out and fall in love.

Bellamy found out her boyfriend moving out of town without her when he announced it live on tv. She has no idea about it all and worst thing, she get to know it from her two best friends, Holly and Jenna. She is focus with her career growth and so is her soon to be ex-. Upon knowing the news and after gotten the confirmation from her ex, she decided to get away from everything with her 2 friends to Pine Mountain for the weekend. Her string of bad luck doesn’t stop there. Her car broke down just outside the town and Shane comes to Bellamy’s rescue. Shane, from the start of the book, was depicted as though he is a local boy working at the shop. Bellamy is up for a surprise when Shane’s background was revealed. With her car in the shop, Bellamy tried her best to enjoy her getaway and at the fighting off her attraction to Shane.

It was a bit difficult for me to like Bellamy at the beginning as she can come across as snotty but as the story developed, reader will discover that she have big heart but unfortunately for her, she is stacked in a job that she dont like with a demanding superior. I love the banter between Bellamy and Shane and while i felt that Shane may not be at par with Bellamy in term of their reputation at the beginning of the story, i was pleasantly surprise with the ending of their story. Overall , it is a good read to me.

What a steamy story ! Loved Shane and Bellamy’s story. It’s is an opposite attract with some serious dislike of one another ! I love these two together. Watching them go from bickering to falling in love . They both have preconceived notions about one another . Can they over come it ? Ohhhhh my!

Guys this was a great story and everything you have come to expect from Kimberly Kincad! There is a heat, banter and twist at the end that you don’t see coming which made the story even better!

I love this series...just enough angst to keep it interesting. Great characters and plots. Now looking forward to getting to Jackson better in the next one!

Big city girl meets small town boy (ish). It's a great story of pre-conceived notions, misunderstandings and vulnerability, with sprinklings of family drama, terrible working conditions and following your dreams. The book is well written, easy to read (devoured in one sitting) and the characters are relatable in more ways than one.
All in all, a great read!. Highly recommend

Pretty good on to binge read.... The pages seem to just turn themselves.... Though I thought it could of done with a peek of them sometime down the road would of been nice... But the ending for the next book was OK too.

Opposites attract … well, not really as opposite as it seems. In this light and fun story by Kimberly Kincaid, secrets will come out, dreams will be fulfilled and love will fill the pages.

Bellamy … snooty rich girl. Shane … down-to-earth mechanic. No two people could have been wrong for each other. Especially when one of them has a huge grudge against anyone and anything from Philadelphia. And, keeping a huge secret.

A disabled Miata, a high-end resort, three friends who will go to the ends of the earth for each other against a snow storm and the bitch boss. Jenna and Holly would do anything to help Bellany through the week that she had. Including surprising her with tickets to see her favorite Chef. Little does she know that that little meeting just may change her life. Well, that and a snow storm.

Shane is down-to earth and has a rough time with those people who feel like everyone owes them something. But, there is something about Bellamy. She may come off as a very self-assured, high-powered woman but, underneath, she’s fun-loving, a little insecure and can’t stand the words “It’s not you”. When she shows up in the middle of a snow storm hell bent on being a bitch, he couldn’t help but fall a little bit in love with her.

Yes, there were misunderstandings, a whole lot of food, surprises and secrets reveled. But, through it all, you couldn’t help but hope that they found a way to truly connect their hearts. It took a heart of another kind, conversations and understanding but true feelings were finally revealed. It’s hard when both parties are fighting their feelings but so freeing when the deep breath is taken and you realize that there is nothing to be afraid of. All obstacles can be overcome if you just open your mind and your heart.

Kimberly Kincaid wrote a heart-warming and fun story with Turn Up the Heat. And yes, the heat was turned up and scorched the pages. I love reading Kimberly Kincaid. She builds her characters but keeps you guessing as to who they truly are. The story is seamless and fluent. She builds the plot then totally blows it up. Then she gives you a swoon-worthy happily-ever-after.

This is a new to me author!

The book follows Bellamy, a Philly girl with her MBA , with a terrible boss at a bank working in real estate. She is over her job and her boyfriend just broke up with her! She decides on a whim to head to the mountains about 4 hours away with two girl friends.

Shane is a small town mechanic who just loves cars.

This is a classic they hate each other then fall in love. Shane doesn’t tell her the whole truth about his past and she leaves.

I really struggled with this book. I don’t know if I was burnt out, but this was missing something for me. The reason it all falls apart makes no sense to me. They knew each other for less than a week and he didn’t tell her about his past which it me wasn’t even a big deal. Certainly not my favorite.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All of these thoughts are my own.

It was an ok read. The characters were interesting but there did not seem to be a connection and the story moved along quite slowly

I have read several books by Kimberly Kincaid and most of the time her romance and romantic suspense are fully of steamy romance and just enough suspense for readers like me. Her romance at times falls a little the cheesy side and her female leads seem to be push overs.

The group of female characters are charcutiers of what people see intelligent women to be and honestly it a little annoying and huge turn off to female readers.

The romance is insta Lust which can work if the characters are likable but they are flat. Honestly the whole story is a cliche in the worst possible way, The author leaves readers to push though the story and at about the 80% mark we finally get to the big secret. If you are like me you really don't care and just want to end the HEA.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Pine Mountain #1

Grady is a small town mechanic with secrets, who meets Bellamy, a bank analyst, who is on a weekend trip with friends when her car breaks down. The two are instantly drawn to each other despite Grady’s instinct to push her away. Bellamy is amidst a career crisis that parallels Grady’s secret past. The two face several conflicts on the way to their HEA, mostly due to Grady’s secret.

This was a nice, light romance but not riveting enough to feel compelled by that “I can’t put it down” feeling. It was hard to believe the H & h could fall madly in love within a week. I enjoyed the authors writing and writing style but this story fell flat for me. I would definitely give this author another try with the next book in this series.

Great characters, with a good dose of stubborn and spice in Bellamy and bruised hurt in Shane. The HEA is always just over the horizon and the great girlfriends, garage chums and family make the getting there a lot of fun. A lovely read.

If you have some time on your hands and you need a relaxing cute story, then I would suggest Turn up the Heat. The story is a bit predictable, but fun nonetheless.

Bellamy is a bit of a spoiled princess, who basically gets dumped on national television. When she and her BFF’s retreat to a spa for some relax time, her car brakes down.

The mechanic, who can fix her car is of course a hunky, yet mysterious, guy some flirting and a blizzard later, Shane (said mechanic) and Bellamy are inseparable. Yep, after a few days totally smitten-..

But it wouldn’t be the same if there wasn’t a big secret, an unexpected turn and a grand gesture, resulting in a happily ever after. A relaxing read, three and a half stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I thought that this book had a good storyline and characters.

Honestly is the best policy but things don’t always go to plan.

I thought that this was a romantic and sexy read where truth wins out in the end.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!
