Bellamy Blake is spending the weekend with her BFF’s in Pine Mountain. She is struggling with her job as a real estate analyst, wondering if this what she wants to do for the rest of her life. Her car breaking down in Pine Mountain, during a snow storm, was not planned. Finding Shane Griffin at the repair garage was a plus! Having to stay in Pine Mountain until her car is repaired gives them plenty of time to “turn up the heat” and get to know each other. He shows her life in Pine Mountain and how working on cars may not make him rich, but it is what he loves to do. She begins to wonder if it is too late to make a career change, to something she loves to do, but most likely will never make her rich. Two people who meet, evaluate their lives and their futures…maybe together? A wonderful and heartfelt story with love, connecting with family, humor and romance. I neve figured out who Shane was before we were told. I get why Bellamy was hurt when she found out. Turn Up the Heat, is a great romance novel. I enjoyed reading it very much. Even though I knew that they would be together in the end, there was a few times I wondered.
Turn Up the Heat is the second book in Kimberly Kinkaid’s Pine Mountain series and a fun, angsty, and entertaining story of picking your battles and opening your heart Realistic character portrayals and an interesting and intelligent storyline goes a long way to creating a thoroughly enjoyable read, and Ms Kincaid has certainly achieved that with this story. I’m always impressed with the easy ebb and flow of this authors work (whether it be serious and emotional, or light-hearted and amusing) and Turn Up the Heat is not only a great addition to the series, but a terrific way to satisfy your romance appetite.
Overall, a decent read. Bellamy is having a rough week, her newscaster boyfriend announces on TV that he is moving across the country, but failed to tell her that they were over. Her boss at the bank is a nightmare, and when she tries to get away from it all in Pine Mountain, her car’s transmission gives out. Shane Griffin works in the only garage in town, and wants to have nothing to do with Bellamy, and her “big city” ways. Of course, the are immediately attracted to each other, and the forced proximity during a major snowstorm, takes them to the next level. Of course, Shane is hiding something that can possibly break them up, so will this whirlwind romance survive? While this wasn’t a horrible read, it also didn’t captivate me either. This is an insta-love romance, which is my least favorite trope and neither main character did anything for me. I think I realized that this was just an okay read when I was skimming through all of the steamy parts. I normally like this author’s books, so I am hoping that this is an anomaly. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Spicy from go!
In Turn up the heat we get Shane and Bellamy’s story and let’s just start by saying that was hot. The authors writing flawless and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.
Authors Blurb: Ingredients:

Mix well and add a whole lot of sparks under the hood.
Serve with a side of adversaries to lovers, opposites attract, sexy banter, and sizzling heat in both the kitchen and the bedroom.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

I was really excited for the next Pine Mountain story after reading Sugar and Spice, but as much as I enjoyed the characters and the main storyline, Turn Up the Heat left me feeling disappointed. It was still worth the read, but I didn't love it like I was expecting to.
I loved the meet cute and mini enemies-to-lovers vibe we got in the beginning. Bellamy's car breaks down and she finds herself in a small town with only one mechanic. Shane, our small town mechanic, makes assumptions about her based on her car and clothes and assumes she's a stuck up city girl inciting some fun banter and ultimately sparks as they keep finding themselves in the same places at the same times. Add in a forced proximity due to a snow storm and it's the stuff small town romances are made of.
I'm not an overall fan of the 3rd act breakup, but even more so when the FMC is being wildly unreasonable, especially when she had a level head the whole book. I just can't understand how Bellamy felt like Shane did her more dirty than her ex, who told the whole state he was moving across the country before telling her... Shane clearly had some stuff in his past he wasn't willing to open up about and when it came out she acted like their whole relationship was built on lies and I just didn't see it... Then she forgave him in a matter of minutes too. It just fell so flat for me and these characters deserved more.
That being said, this was a 4 star read for me until that point and I loved Sugar and Spice, so I'll definitely be grabbing Carly and Jackson's story when it re-releases in a month or two.
Bellamy has taken all the bad that she can and heads off for a mini vacation with her two best friends to a small town in the mountains. Things are not looking up for Bellamy when on her way there he car breaks down and she has to walk to the only garage in the town. She didn’t expect to see the most handsome looking guy with sarcasm. Shane can tell by one look at her she had money and was trouble for him. Is Shane one to run from a problem and maybe miss out on the best thing to happen to him? This was a nice easy read with great characters. I enjoyed it!
Turn up the heat, will warm your heart as a winter storm traps a couple together and they find a common ground. The characters will intrigue you as their story develops. Their past will come to light and their future will develop.
2.5/5 stars! I love a good TV angle to a fun smutty read, so the premise of this story was right up my alley. I've read another book by this author and found it really sweet and steamy. Unfortunately, this book missed the mark for me. It lacked the author's normal charm with creating true chemistry that is more than physical. This book read like two teenagers who couldn't control themselves physically but were unwilling to step up for a true relationship. The ending helped with this a bit but I likely wouldn't have stuck it out if this wasn't an ARC. I've liked the author's other works so this one could be a one-off for me.

The story has a woman Bellamy Blake first finding out from everyone around her that her newscaster boyfriend is moving across the country. When she finally confronts him she never realized how much of an ego he had. Now agreeing with her best friends to go to the mountains for the weekend she breaks down.
Shane the mechanic is having problems working out the next payment to the bank. He is also frustrated because a man just lowballed him on the price of his 69 Mustang Mach one. Shane starts off being rude but then comes around. He helps her with her car but it is still going to take a week to fix. Over a few days they run into each other and then start something and as it becomes more and she decides to quit her job because of her job she finally finds out about the secret that he had been holding on to. That actually breaks her and she leaves. Read to see if it can be fixed. A good story with good characters.
This was a fun, quick read, I'll always enjoy a good trapped in one place romance. The storyline was predictable and fairly standard, but I wouldn't view that as a negative. It was cosy, steamy and all round cute story.
Kincaid’s first Pine Mountain romance was exactly as I expected. It was cheesy and predictable, but I couldn’t put it down. Every girl loves a romance. It was an easy quick read that kept me engaged. I will likely read the next Pine Mountain romance whenever it get released.
I loved this story! It kept me on the edge of my seat right from the first page! The story is filled with suspension, hot interactions and twists. I found the characters fun, sassy, and very lovable.
Great book! This book was kind of a typical romance novel! Which I've really Been put off of lately, I've Bern into murder mystery books! But! This book was a great change of pace for me! I'm glad I dipped back into the romance scene! This book was well worth reading! I highly recommend it! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
Turn Up the Heat is a reworking of a book by the same name from 2014. Bellamy is a real estate analyst dumped on national television by her douchey ex-boyfriend. She takes a break from the bright lights of the big city, and goes to Pine Mountain, to get away from him and her demanding boss. She doesn't factor in a broken down car that's going to take a week to fix, and a sexy small-town mechanic called Shane, who will fix the said broken down car. Over the following week, including a period where the two are snowed in at Shane's work, they get to "know" each other better.
From the outset these two are pretty good characters, and the premise is really sound. The early part of the book was somewhat slow to get started, and I'm not sure if this was because the story was filled out a little from the earlier version. I didn't feel like the connection between Shane and Bellamy was a smouldering or intense one, and they never really got out of first gear. Shane falls first and the miscommunication for me isn't that big of a deal - I mean he had only known her a week and Bellamy had some lofty expectations for mind. I thought Bellamy's friends were a real hoot and would read a further book about them, or Shane's friend as well. Bellamy was also having a crisis in terms of her work future, so this was a parallel them throughout the book. And there was the question of the significant debt Shane owes that is briefly mentioned in the beginning and then doesn't get mentioned until the end. This made for a bit of meandering and I lost a little direction and focus with what was happening.
In all a nice read that was still on the sweet side rather than the saucy.
