Another great addition to the Quinn and Costa series. Though the beginning started out a little slow for me, once I got past the first couple of chapters, I couldn't wait to finish it. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Thank you #netgalley and #Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA for the eARC.
Small Town Southern Mystery Draws In Feds. While technically this is Book 4 of the Quinn and Costa series, they and their team don't actually show up for a decent chunk of the beginning of the book - it seemingly took them longer to come into this narrative than Book 3, The Wrong Victim (which does get referenced here, for those that cannot stand any spoilers whatsoever). But once they do show up, things begin escalating quite quickly and as always we see the various team members doing what they each do best and what makes them such an effective team. As is the norm of "freak of the week" police procedurals, we also get a fair amount of team and personal development of much of the team as well, and in the end the reader is left ready for the next adventure. This is a well told and well paced tale that even at 400 pages, doesn't quite feel it - it reads more like maybe a 320 pager or so. I'm very much looking forward to Book 5 in this series, and this entry is very much recommended.
The fourth installment in the Quinn and Costa series by Allison Brennan is a first read for me in the series. The cover is very inviting .The plot intrigued me enough to want to try the story despite not reading the previous books.I have read this author before, and I have enjoyed her other books. Corruption, missing girls ,and caring detectives are what drew me in. The author is an excellent story teller that keeps you guessing and keeps the pages turning.
Beau Hebert is a police detective that wants to find the person who is killing girls in quiet St. Augustine, Louisiana. Yet, whenever he gets close with a witness, they end up dead. He calls up an old military buddy Mike Costa to help him solve the case of a witness that dies in custody. He brings his FBI mobile response team with Kara Quinn and team to assist in the investigation. Small town cops and small town residents aren't very forthcoming with information since there is more than meets the eye with this town. The corruption goes far beyond this little town ,and the people in charge know more than they are willing to share. The chase is on!
Allison Brennan's writing is top notch. The story keeps you guessing on who is killing the witnesses and the girls. At first you think it's a serial killer, but the author weaves a story that has two answers to that question. The small town dynamics and intelligent detectives are what makes the story so interesting. Her storytelling kept me turning the pages and I was not disappointed. I highly recommend this book and this author. She can spin a web of deceit.

Seven Girls Gone is Allison Brennan’s fourth book in her Quinn and Costa series. This is a well written series that can be read alone but you will be hooked and want to read the others as well. A fast paced story with multiple murders, many suspects and many different motives. A story of corruption, murder, mystery and lots of secrets. This is a highly suspenseful story with many twist and turns that leave you head spinning. The characters are so real and filled with emotions. If you like a police procedural murder mystery and all that goes with it, then I highly recommend you read this one and the rest of the series.
Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, Mira and Allison Brennan for this explosive story to read and review. The opinions expressed are my own.

After reading this I look forward to reading more by this author and more books in this specific series. I loved the setting and the role it played in this story.
The twists and turns and mystery coupled with a background plot of corruption in high places made this a thrilling read. Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC that will be published April 25, 2023!
Brennan remains one of my favorite authors and this doesn’t disappoint. There are a few loose threads that I hope get resolved in future books…or at least rate a passing mention (who hits Jim!). If you haven’t started this series you can jump in here, but definitely worth going back to the beginning.
4.5 stars
Thanks you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and the author for granting me an advance copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.
Book is to be released April 25, 2023.
This book is the fourth book in a series. It can be read as a stand alone Novel without much difficulty, but the series is more effective if read in order.
The characters Kara and Matt investigate the disappearance of seven decreased girls from the Magnolia Inn. Some of the bodies turn up in the bayou.
The book is exciting and full twists and turns.
I thoroughly enjoyed the read and recommend.
This is the first book I've read in this series but had no trouble following along and it reads well as a stand alone. i loved the characters, it had a well paced plot, and enough intrigue to keep me reading late into the night. Highly recommended
Thanks to NetGalley and MIRA for an advanced reader copy.
This is not my first book by this author but is the first in the series. I didn’t have any trouble jumping right in to the town. The characters were pretty easy to get to know. Almost to the point of being cliched. Getting past that, even though the missing women cases precede this book, it was easy to get caught up, in both sense of the term, in the story. I’m not sure if it will be enough to bring me back but I know I will continue to read this author.
4.5⭐
Seven Girls Gone is the fourth book in the Quinn and Costa Series, I haven't read any of the other three books in this series and I enjoyed it as a stand alone. You can bet I will be checking out her other books.
In a small town called St. Augustine, LA seven girls have gone missing or have been found dead, and all of them had last been seen leaving the Magnolia Inn. Police Deputy Beau has been investigating the young girl's disappearances and brings in his friend and FBI agent Michael and his colleagues Matt and Kara to help solve the mystery. He suspects that someone high up is involved, possibly even one of his own. Such a captivating look behind the dark curtains of small town politics, where corruption runs deep.
Thanks to Net Galley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC for an honest review
While this is the fourth book in the Q & C series, it could be read as a stand alone. I say that with a little dismay because this book doesn't really advance any character development. Quinn is still holding a grudge over something that happened and Costa takes 75% of this book to figure it out and try and deal with it. That all being said, there really wasn't much room for character development because this book was filled to the brim with plot plot plot! Oh and introducing us to characters in the small infested town of St. Augustine, LA. While Quinn is scared of alligators in the bayou, the reptiles that populate the town are what she really should be worried about. This made for a fast paced and engaging read but I do hope we get a bit more interaction between Matt and Kara.
This was fantastic. I hadn’t realized this book was part of a series but it makes me want to read all the other books as well!
Another great read by Allison Brennan! Quinn & Costa has quickly become one of my favorite romantic suspense series and her latest, Seven Girls Gone, doesn’t disappoint. Action packed, great character interaction & a bit of romance. Definitely looking forward to the next!
This is the fourth book in the Quinn and Costa series! I haven’t read the other ones but it wasn’t really a big deal for this book.
Seven Girls Gone takes place on the bayou of a Louisiana which automatically makes a suspenseful book even more so. It follows Beau who is a native of the town, investigating the disappearance of girls after they were seen at the Magnolia Inn. I loved all the details, the suspicion of each character was real especially in this town where there is so much corruption. There were a lot of characters but I didn’t find it so hard to keep track of it all.
Now I want to go back and read the rest of the books in this series!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Each time I read a Quinn and Costa book, I marvel at the intricate plot threads and how the author does a masterful job of bringing everything together at the end. This book is a must read for fans of this series and for anyone who wants to read a book that is part suspense/thriller and part crime procedural. It is well-written with well-developed and dynamic characters that help the story to flow well with a fast pace. The setting is the Louisiana Bayou and I learned a lot about the place, especially the habits of alligators in the swamps. It is a perfect setting for a great whodunit! The plot is centered around a police deputy in the small town of St. Augustine, LA and how he needs the help of the FBI’s Mobile Response Team to find out what is happening to the young women who are disappearing in his town. A crime wave seems to be rampant there and Beau Hebert calls his friend and FBI agent Michael Harris to assist him in finding out who is responsible. Of course, Michael enlists the aid of his colleagues, so the whole team shows up to unravel the mystery of the disappearances and murders of so many young women. I love this series, especially the character of Kara Quinn, a quirky and intuitive detective from LA who always has a unique perspective that ends up leading to a solution. I really enjoyed the dynamics of the characters and how they have grown and changed throughout the series. With a remarkable fast pace and plenty of intrigue in a complicated plot, the author does a masterful job of creating and then revealing the multiple layers of the mystery. I loved the unexpected twists and the red herrings as I tried to solve the mystery along with the team. With a tight plot and sharp dialogue along with wonderful characters, this is a book not to be missed. It is part of a series but can definitely be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

In SEVEN GIRLS GONE, Police detective Beau Hebert has been focused on the solving the murder of 5 local girls and 2 that are missing in Louisiana. A well known brothel/bar is the focus of his investigation. The police chief puts road blocks on his investigation and Beau knows he is is too close to the case. Trying to figure out how the deaths are related, he calls his old Seals team member Michael. Michael brings in the troops; Matt and Kara and other parts of the Crisis Response Team. They have a state if the art mobile CSI unit that they use for solving crimes, and now they are bringing their expertise and talents to the bayous of Louisiana.
Seven Girls Gone is an exciting new investigation from author Allison Brennan. While not her best book, it is certainly entertaining nonetheless.

Seven Girls Gone is the fourth book in the Quinn & Costa series. I haven't read any other books in the series, but that didn't really matter for this book. I'd like to read more in the future though.
This book takes in a small Louisiana town where corruption runs deep. I enjoyed the story, but there are a lot of characters and I had a hard time keeping them straight.
My favorite setting: Louisiana Bayou
My Favorite genre: Mystery
My Favorite author: Allison Brennan
My Favorite book of the year: Probably
I was really sad when Brennan's Lucy Kincade Series ended, but the Quinn and Costa Series is shaping up to be just as good. Kara Quinn is a very different heroine from Lucy, she is very interesting with a lot of different layers. The romance between Kara and Matt Costa seems to have hit a rough patch in this one, which is not surprising given that Kara has no idea what a true relationship is like. But Matt is in it to win it and He. Won't. Go. Away. The mystery has lots of suspects and lots of different motives and it sometimes appears the story could go a different direction from one page to the next. There are threats and danger to a lot of people, including our Team. I loved watching how the Team peels back the layers of this mystery to the baddies and the why.
Beau Hebert loves his small Louisiana town. He left the Navy to become a detective here to be close to his aging grandmother, but after the death of the old mayor a few years ago something changed and not for the better. A new mayor, a new police chief and unsolved murder and drug deaths are plaguing this small town. Beau contacted his old friend from the Navy, Michael Harris, who is now an FBI Agent, for help with solving the murders of seven young women, all but one prostitutes, and drug users connected with the Magnolia Inn, a brothel. Beau wants help, but the rest of the police department would rather none of the murders would ever be solved.
Small towns all have their secrets and St. Augustine is full of them. Small towns also don't like outside interference and when Matt and the FBI Rapid Response Team show up, people shut up and the police slam the doors in their faces. Kara goes undercover keeping a low profile and works her way in to try and discover what is going on. The corruption is deep, and the drug trade has a strangle hold on this small town and so far, anyone who has talked to Beau has ended up dead.
My thanks to the Publisher, and Author, for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.
Seven Girls Gone by Allison Brennan A fast paced, intense, gripping thriller with many twists and turns. Felt like I just binge watched a whole season of a crime show. There were murders, prostitution rings, police corruption, drug dealing and more. While many characters were involved, their backrounds were skillfully interwoven into the story. Kara is a unique and interesting character as she can blend in various situations so well with different personas. Mimi was a favorite as she reminded me of my Nana as they both expressed their love through cooking. Well researched in all aspects. Learned more than enough about alligators to know I don't want to anywhere near the bayou. Highly recommended.
Thank you the author, NetGalley, Mira Books, and Harlequin Trade Publishing for opportunity to preview the book.
As per usual for me, I didn’t know this was a series when I requested it. I knew I liked the previous Alison Brennan books I’d read and thought this would be good. Luckily, it didn’t matter, and it was excellent. I would like to go back and read the previous three books to see how Matt and Kara got to where they are at this book’s present, but I didn’t feel like my reading experience was lacking by not having the full backstory.
This was a fast-paced thriller full of twists and turns, and crime centered around sex, drugs, and corruption. The case was grim and dark, and it kept piling on, but I appreciated that I could always feel how much the team cared about solving the case, getting answers, and getting justice for the lost lives while also protecting those who were trying to get out or make a change. They were intelligent with good instincts and determination. There were also lessons in being careful who you trust.
I’ve definitely got this series on my list now to start from the beginning. I look forward to meeting this team at its origin when I go back.
