This was an interesting thriller. The main character, Sam, has a rare condition called parasomnia where is prone to being violent while sleepwalking. He wakes up one morning next to his dead wife Tessa and with his 3 month old baby Cora missing. He doubts himself, wondering if he committed an unthinkable act while asleep. I am always interested in the idea of a person wondering if they actually committed a crime while they were drunk, drugged, etc., so this was a new twist on that. The story alternates between present day with Sam trying to figure out what happened and where his baby is, and the near past and Tessa's struggles. Some of the twists were a little out there and perhaps not entirely believable, but the chapter cliffhangers kept me racing through to the end.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher and author for allowing me to read this ARC. I have never read this author, but will be looking for other novels by her. This had me believing what I thought was going to happen, then doubting it, then changing my mind.......very fast paced thriller.

This story is about Sam Fulford who suffers from episodes of sleep walking. He's happily married to Teresa and they have a baby (Cora). His sleepwalking episodes are intense and he becomes the complete opposite of what his character normally is. He wakes up to find his wife laying dead beside him, and his daughter is nowhere to be found. Sam cant recall what happened and tries to plug in the missing pieces to try and find his daughter.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I have high expectations for Mystery/Thrillers this was definitely a page turner!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are that of my own.
This was a very quick read with multiple pov’s and timescales. So the plot should have moved along quicker than it did up but there is a lot of repetition which fills out the book too much.
The most interesting part of the story for me was the husbands search for his daughter. Cora. Beyond that I didn’t feel any tension.
Wow, what a ride this book's been! 🤯 I have been so much into good thrillers lately, and this book definitely delivered what I was looking for.
The story follows Sam Fulford - a happily married man to a beautiful and loving wife Tessa, a happy and proud father to a beautiful baby girl Cora. To the outside world - a happy and beautiful family that many could envy. But Sam suffers from a condition which doesn't allow the happy couple to enjoy their relationship and parenthood to its fullest. Sam's a sleepwalker, and not just a kind who wakes up in the middle of the night to wander through the house, no. He becomes an entirely different person, completely unrecognisable, cold, angry, and even violent at times.
His life changes completely when one morning he wakes up to find his beautiful wife laying dead beside him, and his daughter is nowhere to be found. Did Sam kill Tessa during one of his episodes? But where's Cora? Did he do something to her? No, it can't be, he couldn't have! But where is she, then? What happened?!
I'll be honest, I started getting my suspicions at around maybe 60% of the book, but I was also welcomed with a few surprising gasps of my own as the story unfolded. My heart was pounding fast, my breathing was so fast, oof! Exactly what you're looking for when reading thrillers! So good!
I loved that this book is told in multiple POVs, and in dual timelines: before Tessa is murdered and after aka present day. In the beginning I felt as the story lacked something to keep me drawn to it and not wanting to put the book down, but as I read more and more of it that's exactly the stage I got: I couldn't put it down until I knew what the hell happened exactly.
The minute I reached the end I couldn't hold all the goosebumps, and the way this book ended makes you want to have just an extra chapter to know what happens next! I love and hate this feeling at the same time - love it because damn it's so good! Hate it because I know I can't have more.
Overall I really enjoyed The Sleepwalker. It was shocking, it was raw - especially when talking about motherhood -, and it kept me on edge until the very last page.
Thank you NetGalley and Laura George for giving me the opportunity to read this book! Coming out February 26th, 2023.
What a good book! Any time I had to put this book down.....you know to get other things done at work or around my house lol, this book had me wishing I was back reading it. For me, sometimes books with multiple POV’s and timelines, I would have to go back and reread some pages to figure out who I was reading. Not with this book. Even with the multiple POV’s and timelines everything just fell into place and was easy to follow along. It was easy to get emotionally invested in each of the characters and really become engrossed in the story. I highly recommend this book!
Read through Netgalley before the publication date of 26th February 2023.
I enjoyed the sleepwalker, read over a few days, following the lives of Tessa, her husband Sam and Tessas friend Bella.
The book was an easy read, albeit a little bit predictable and the ending was decent.
I would recommend this book and rated 4 stars.
Tessa and Sam are a married couple with a newborn named Cora. Sam has a sleeping disorder called parasomnia where he sleepwalks and could be violent. Sam wakes up to find Tessa dead next to him in bed and Cora missing. Sam questions whether he did something while sleepwalking. He’s been unintentionally violent with Tessa while sleepwalking. While investigating, the police suspect Sam. Tessa struggled with getting pregnant and struggled postpartum. She was insecure with being a mother. She befriends her beautiful neighbor named Bella who seems not to like babies. There are secrets hidden.
The chapters alternate from past to present. There are twists especially the last sentence of the book. One twist is predictable. There were parts that dragged. The characters were ok. I did feel for Tessa especially being a new mom and dealing with Sam’s parasomnia.

Thankyou netgalley for the ARC of the sleep walker by L C George.
The sleep Walker by LC George was little below average read for me. The was like okish. I'm saying this because there are a lot of thriller suspense books that are based on this topic that is sleep walking, so the concept as such is not very much unique. If I have to describe the premise in a few words, man who has problem with sleep walking and has encountered a few violent acts while sleep walking, one morning when he wakes up you finds his wife dead in his bed and his baby's missing. All and all story revolves around the mystery of who killed the wife and what happened to the missing baby.
Honestly I could not established a connection with the characters. And the plot felt very flat. Also the climax was very much predictable. The good part of the book was it is bingeable in a few hours.
But I would definitely like to read more title spy the same motor as a writing styles superb easy to read easy to understand. overall 2 star read.

This one started off on a interesting premise. The first few chapters were good but the moment a certain aspect of the back story came in it was too easy to guess what happened.
Sadly this didn't work so much for me because it was so predictable.
Thank you Netgalley and Inkubator books for the ARC
This was a great quick thriller. You’ll always capture my attention when the word sleepwalker is in the title because it’s one of the things that freak me out the most. Although I ended up knowing where it was going, it was still suspenseful and required some guesswork. I think that a character you love to hate versus a character that’s annoyingly unlikeable is a fine line to walk and this author got it right. The antagonist was a pleasure to hate. Great read that I’d recommend.
Twisty whodunit with unreliable narrators. This story explores motherhood in a sinister light. Kept me glued from start to finish.
A good 3star read from me.
I worked out some of the main questions early on but this did not distract from the novel. I did find some sections repetitive especially with regards to Tessa and Bella.
I particularly enjoyed the present day and Sam trying to find out where his daughter is. The whole issue of parasomnia was fascinating.
Thank you for my copy of this novel. I'm sorry I was unable to do a goodreads review as the author and novel not showing on goodreads
A lot of twists and turns in this book. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. This is the first book I read by this author
4.5!
The story reminded me of one of famous mystery-thriller I read back in the day but couldn't place the name. I was amazed by how the storyline flow going because it was written well. As in fact, I couldn't put the book down for a bit. Then, there are several issues about "motherhood" in complex meaning throughout the book that give me utterly joy. Also, another expected issues Laura add on this book get me in tears. Especially about the the background story on these MCs. However, I did not get the clear or in details background story for this specific MC. That doesn't bother me for a bit but it would be much better if she did written down at least a brief of it that make this certain MC be what they are.
The thing I dislike about the book is on the multiple POVs which make my discovery about the "truth" on the storyline revealed in front of my eyes before it has been spilled. Meaning, I put two and two together and my suspicion is correct. However, Laura's ideas to put this specific MC on tight because they had "this certain issue" was completely blowing my mind. It was good and my expectation though that might be the case, but then she pull over everything and give me the plot that I suspected. If you guys pay attention on details she lay out throughout each chapters, I bet you guys would did the same as I did.
To conclude, I admire this book because it was easy read for the psychological-thriller-mystery book. Laura's writing style giving me joy because I did enjoy every part of it. She doesn't put anything into complicated sentences, just straight to it. Then, the POVs between those MCs (male and female) have "its own style" which I can separate between which MC is this supposed to be. That's a plus. Also, she pulled up those "issues" on her book give me perspective of "the good and the bad". Meaning, it depending on which "eyes" the storyline holds.
Thank you for giving me this privilege! I enjoyed the book as a quick read. I would recommend this who like to know more about the importance of motherhood with a genre. Full review and slight analyze for this book will be published after the release date
This book perfectly describes the fear and anxiety surrounding pregnancy and caring for a newborn baby. A mother’s worries about her baby are normal and commonplace but rarely voiced, so it was refreshing to see them encapsulated here. I did twig who the villain was early on, because of their erratic behaviour, but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book. I really felt for Sam and Tessa - often in psychological thrillers, I feel the characters are too one-dimensional for me to have an emotional connection to them, but this wasn’t the case with The Sleepwalker. Recommended.
I could see where this book was going from the beginning. That aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple POVs and the jumps from past & present. The author does a good job of ending a chapter with a cliffhanger, making the reader want to read “just one more chapter” to see what happens next. It was a quick & easy read and definitely a book I would recommend to someone who is interested in reading thrillers, but not fully sure where to start.
Sam & Lindy both are faced with dark secrets that they would rather keep hidden and Tessa was the poor woman caught in the middle of it. Tessa could be aggravatingly annoying at points (her people pleasing taking her to yes to things she doesn’t fully agree with) but what I love most about books like this are the questionable narrators. Great book!
Thank you NetGalley for giving me the chance of reading this.
Thank you to Netgalley, Inkubator books, and Laura George for the book.
What a wild story! New mom Tessa has a new baby named Cora and a husband Sam. Tessa befriends her neighbor Bella who seems to not like babies but in reality is Sam’s crazy ex who hatches a plan and believes that Cora should be her’s and Tessa is a unfit mother. Tessa ends up dying after Bella pushes her and smothers her with a pillow. Sam wakes up after having a walking nightmare and finds Tessa dead and Cora missing. Sam calls the police and ends up going to the police station and after leaving goes straight back after messing up a hotel room and the police find out about his walking nightmares. As time goes on Sam begins to believe that he may have done something wrong and goes to see a therapist who specializes in hypnosis to find out if he did something. But Sam and his sister find out that Bella aka Lindy befriended Tessa in order to get her baby and finally have the life she believed she was owed. Sam had some waking nightmares during Tessa’s pregnancy and accidentally hit her stomach which causes them to sleep separately. Tessa suffered from infertility for a while and was extremely happy to find out she was pregnant after years of trying. She was desperate for friends who understood her and what it was like to be a mother and Sam’s friends wife Lauren seemed to help her until Tessa was murdered. Maybe if Tessa had never met Bella and Bella had moved on from Sam things would have been differently and Tessa would still be alive. But amazing story nonetheless.
I have to admit the synopsis grabbed my attention and I'm so glad it did! What a book!!! Will read more by George.
You wake up with your wife murdered next to you, your 3-month old baby is missing, everyone thinks you're the culprit.
The problem? You aren't sure they're wrong...
.
This book was really interesting to say the least, I'm usually not a big fan of going back and forth with time every chapter, but surprisingly, this time I felt more intrigued with the timeline.
I liked how the book's main focus was on the psychological problems of every character, Sam's fear and confusion about what happened the night of the murder, Tessa's postpartum depression and anxiety about her baby's safety, and Bella's manipulative and controlling nature.
.
The thing with this book is that it wasn't about discovering who did it, you could work it out from the beginning, it was about the process of unraveling all secrets to finally understand the reason behind everything.
.
What caused this book to be a 4 stars only one, was the ending, it was an open end, the last twist, literally the last page, felt like a punch I wasn't ready for, I also wanted closure, the way things ended, a disaster is currently in the making, so yeah, I'm still attached.
Another thing that frustrated me, was how the author ended every chapter with a Cliffhanger, mostly in the form of a question, which felt exhausting because of how much the same technique was repeated.
.
In the end, I consider this book as a success, definitely hooking and kept me engrossed the whole time.
