Wow, another unexpected read of the month. The blurb certainly doesn't give out the heaviness & heartbreaking scenarios that the book contains.

With an amnesia trope, this deals with tragic pasts of both the MCs. I loved how their personalities clashed thoroughly, but they were so attracted to each other. Especially "Jonah" who was head over heels for Remy.

While I appreciated the rep of the grief, I felt something was missing. I couldn't exactly feel the spark between the characters, but a mystery sub-plot kept me on edge.
Honestly, I'm still confused about how I feel about this book.

<i>Thank you Netgalley & Publisher for the arc, in exchange for an honest review.<i>

I adored this romance. There was a little mystery and intrigue to mix it up just a bit. I think this was done very well and I can't wait to read more books in the series.

Memory Lane was a page-turner for me. I loved the banter between the two main characters. Remy lives on an island off the coast of Maine, where she moved after a traumatic event. She lives a simple life that includes her routine and her career as a wood sculptor. One day she spots a man floating in the ocean in front of her cottage and rescues him. With help from her friend Leigh and an EMT living on the island, she takes care of him while he recovers his injuries. But he has amnesia, so she and he came up with the name of Jonah, from the Bible. Then when Jonah develops a chest infection, they have to go to the mainland to a hospital. Where he is recognized. This novel flowed along, and the pace didn't slow down as Remy helps Jonah, now Jeremiah, get settled in a life he doesn't remember, recover his health and memory. This is a fun, lively story with great characters and an interesting storyline. Jeremiah's past has some things going on that are complicated and not so rosy. But then so does Remy's. I enjoyed the banter, attraction that develops, but also a good mystery with action, danger, and suspense in Jeremiah's life. I am looking forward to the nest story. Loved this one! I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. All thoughts expressed are mine.

I can honestly say that this was a wonderful book and that it is and will be my favorite Becky Wade book.
I loved all of the characters especially Remy and Jeremiah! Their banter back and forth really tickled me and made me laugh at times.
Remy is a cool character in my book! I really loved her bedside manners. She'd make a great nurse!
Jeremiah was a very lucky guy in my opinion.
I really enjoyed the mystery of Jeremiah in trying to find out who he really is.
Wade does an incredible job of bringing these characters to life and making them look, feel and hope for a back to normal life.
I've always said that there's a reason certain things happen to put people in the right place at the right time. These two characters are a perfect example of how God works.
God who is the one who does this. If the timing is right. He will pull you out of your comfort zone just like He did Remy. and me. It's why I could relate to her.
Bless her heart. She is a heroine in my book! I loved in getting to know her. And a very memorable character too!
5 stars for a job well done! I highly recommend!
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I've really enjoyed Becky Wade's books in the past, so I was excited to discover that she has a new book coming out! "Memory Lane" is the first book in Wade's newest "Sons of Scandal" series. This book centers around Remy, a hurting and reclusive author living in a little cottage off Maine's secluded coast. Remy lives alone, with a very small group of friends around her, as she endeavors to protect herself from any possible pain and heartbreak. But one day, all of that changes when she spots a man in obvious distress in the tumultuous ocean. She rescues him, only to discover that he doesn't know who he is or how he ended up in the water. As she helps him find the answer to these questions, she finds herself drawn to Jeremiah, despite her carefully cultivated walls. Remy will have to decide if true love is worth the risk.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Can I give this book 10 stars??

Nobody can write an enemy to lover troupe better than Becky Wade. This book has it all, comedy, murder and love. We follow Remy and one day she discovers a man floating in the ocean. When she rescues him she soon realizes that this man has no idea who he is, other than he enjoys the finer things in life. Jeremy can't remember anything up to the accident. He soon relies on Remy for help. Together they find out who he is but can they solve who tried to kill him and who killed his wife? Can both of them come together for the mystery without killing each other in the process? Will they fall for each other in the process??

I love this troupe and Becky Wade is genius writing it. I love our two main protagonists and the adventure they are on. The comedy is brilliant as well as the mystery. There are serious parts in this book as well. All written so well. I have read Becky Wade many times before but I will stand by this, its her best book to date. I highly recommend this wonderful novel to all!!

This was an interesting and different type of book from Becky Wade. I enjoyed the amnesia angle and the mystery surrounding Jeremiah and his wife. The ending definitely took me by surprise but I felt that some parts of the book dragged on and I couldn’t really connect with Remy’s character.

I love authenticity and a little grit. Remy is salty and spicey and downright funny. She has her quirks and faults, but she is an artist and carries that reputation well. The “duke” is a work of art to be sure, in more ways than one. I refuse to say more about him because part of the sheer enjoyment is finding out exactly who he is as the story progresses. I love how instantaneous their connection comes, albeit the rate of progression to more is a quite a bit slower. This is ok because it gives time to build the relationship during the mystery. And the mystery is the exact level of intensity I have come to expect from Becky Wade. I adore the open and genuine dialogue. There is a lot of respect for boundaries, growth, and healing. Mature, healthy interactions are modeled in the midst of some deeply hurtful experiences. There may be some triggers for some readers, but everything is handled tastefully and with grace. The coastal descriptions were so well done I could imagine myself in the same places as the characters. So far, I am in love with this series and the characters and cannot wait for the next book!

4/5 stars! The premise of this book sounded fun; kind of like a written take on Goldie Hawns' "Overboard." I actually enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. I'm not a huge fan of forcing faith on readers, so was worried about that when I saw this marketed as "Christian fiction." However, I didn't find that to be oppressive and it didn't detract from the story at all. I appreciated Remy's character and watching her and Jeremiah fall for each other was quite the journey. I'd be interested in reading more by this author as long as religion isn't too heavily pandered.

Becky Wade’s books are the perfect opportunity to indulge in more than a romance novel. Her stories have a suspense bit to them and address issues people struggle with. Early on in Memory Lane the reader gets introduced to characters in three different settings. Of course you know they have to do with each other, but how? More characters come on the scene, you dive wholeheartedly into the book, start pursuing the bad guy and all of a sudden it’s 1am. And you need to work the next day. Although I’m wary of millionaire characters, this particular one is a very likable guy. Love Remy, she’s quirky, down to earth, and imperfect. The issue the author decided on for her is well chosen and very appropriate for this day and age. As someone who works with teenagers, I hope the message this book tries to convey will be picked up by those who need it. Love the sidestory with Wendell and am looking forward to finding out how it continues. The characters for part two have already made appearances to the degree that you want to grab a copy as soon as it’s published. It’s not a super quick read, so as you’re reading away you’ll be pleased to find you’re only a quarter through and there is much more goodness to come. Definitely a winner!

When the book comes out, I will be posting this review on Amazon as AllyBerlin. Many thanks to Revell and NetGalley for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I couldn’t put this down. I was totally gripped - in the love story and the crime story of it. I genuinely did not see the twist coming. Excited it’s the first in a series, and love how thoroughly the next book was set up in this one!

A lovely and sweet contemporary romcom story perfect for fans of "The Hating Game" and Emily Henry books. This is basically a gender-swapped version of "Overboard" (1987) in book form. Unlike in the film, the reader only knows as much as Remy does so her love interest's identity is constantly a mystery to us. This book has some of my favorite tropes: a small-town romance, a woman rebuilding her life, characters overcoming trauma, and a search for identity. If you're looking for a charming romance book with plenty of twists and turns, this is the perfect read for you!

Memory Lane
by Becky Wade
Pub Date: February 14, 2023
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
I have not read many of Wade's books. Travel to the rocky coast of Maine for "opposites attract" banter, witty humor, a fascinating mystery, and destiny-changing love. This sweet contemporary romance kicks off Becky Wade's new Sons of Scandal series!
I found this book really worked!
Amnesia, grumpiness, suspense, romance it has it all.
Clean romance but gritty.
Natural Spiritual thread.
Great setting. I recommend this book.

Wow this book was so good. I loved the romance between the two main characters. The mystery and suspence was top notch. I loved the faith elements also. Great book!

I've had several of Becky Wade's books sitting on my kindle shelf. I've loved the covers and wanted to read them many times but I haven't yet. I've heard such great things about her books and when the chance to read and review this book came about, I jumped at the chance. I've heard that this is different than her other books. But it pulled me in and has me even more so excited to read the books I have waiting for me of hers.

I thought by looking, and judging this cover, that it would be a fun a lighthearted read. This book is definitely full of lots of great stuff but I definitely would label it as a fun and lighthearted read alone. There are moments of fun but both of these main characters, Remy and Jeremiah, have had some traumatic experiences that they are trying to move forward from. Trying to heal. Trying to understand. Trying to remember. So there are definitely more hard, real, gritty moments. But don't let that feel depressing. I really loved these two. The author did a great job showing characters trying to heal, who aren't instantly happy go lucky and perfect in every way. They were finding joy, sure, but they're growing and learning and healing.

I loved watching Remy's character be revealed more and more as the book goes on. She'd isolated herself so much that she didn't know she needed more than what she had, in some ways. I loved watching her serve and give and care about others.

There's so much more that I want to say. But this book has some mystery and things that I don't want to spoil and if I start talking about it then I just might. Readers should experience it in their own way and not with my opinion. I will say that it starts off a little slow and unknown as backstories are slowly revealed. But it works for the novel. If you're picking it up and feel that way, can I just encourage you to keep going. Don't give up!

Content: Clean. This is a Christian fiction novel so elements of trusting in a higher power/God are woven throughout the story. Not as an in your face preachy way though. I thought it was well done and didn't interfere with the story but added really nicely to it. There are some kisses but nothing further. *******possible spoiler ahead******** Read this part at your own risk.********There are some elements of death/suicide/murder talked about but nothing graphic. There is also mention of an affair but again, nothing graphic, just mentioned and a scene that implies the couple having the affair slept together.************

I received a copy from the publisher, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

I really enjoyed this book! This story had a lot of layers to it that unfolded perfectly to keep me interested from start to finish. The characters had a good dynamic and the mystery thread really kept me invested in where the story was headed. I loved how the mystery angle morphs during this story and takes a different thread! The romance was definitely a slow and methodical burn. However, that is what was necessary for these characters because of their life circumstances and past. No spoilers, but their romance had to be handled with care and Becky Wade created a truly beautiful romance between this couple that was worth the wait. The faith thread in this book is subtle, yet bold at the same time. The story does focus on the characters and their circumstances, but at key moments the faith thread weaves its way into the situations and big, hard questions are tackled. I loved to see a characters asking the hard questions that can shatter your faith or build a solid foundation. It was deep without being preachy or cheesy. The reader is introduced to Jude the character from the next book and I cannot wait to read his book! I really thought this book was a great read and would absolutely recommend picking it up!

Another 5 stars from me! Becky Wade is one of my auto-read authors. I love the adventurous/suspenseful nature of each of her stories. They're always so unique and heartfelt, and this one was no different. I loved Remy and Jeremiah and all of the side characters. I also now really want to visit Maine! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Remy for the last 6 years lives alone in on one of Maine’s most remote islands . Then one morning she spots something in the sea . What she see is a man drowning . After saving his life she has to take care of him because there is no hospital in the area and no doctors . The man has amnesia , his rids are broken . While he stays there until he heals he is acting like spoiled little child . While he doesn't remember his past he feels safe with her . Both their feelings are genuine she is worried . He is trying to discover the cause of his late wife death . Will Jeremiah find his memories ? Will he make her give them a chance ? Who tried to kill him ?

Sparks fly when Remy pulls a stranger out of the waves in front of her house, becoming in that moment the only person he's ever remembered meeting. Jeremiah is obviously wealthy but has no idea who he is or who would have pushed him off a boat into the ocean.

Remy, like Finley (Wade's last book), was a character whose personality and lifestyle I couldn't relate to at all, but I wanted to know what would happen to her and Jeremiah. I loved the unique supporting cast. The moment Jude appeared, I knew he was the one I would have been more likely to pick and am looking forward to his book.

The biggest difference between this book and everything else I've read from Wade is this one is missing the clear explanation of the gospel she usually brings. To say the faith thread is light in this story is an understatement; I had no idea at the end of the book even where the characters ' faith stood. If you're looking for more of a general market clean read with Wade's signature style, this is it, but I personally will be looking forward to seeing her return to the strong faith messages that drew me to her books in the first place.

I read an copy of this book provided by the publisher and Netgalley so I could write a honest review, and all opinions are my own.
