Remy Reed finds a person trying to swim to shore off the coast of Maine. She is the only one with a boat close enough to go out and save him from a briny death. When she gets him back to shore, he has no idea who he is, he has a head wound and some broken ribs. She nurses him back to health until he develops pneumonia and has to be transported by plane to a hospital on the mainland. Once in the ER of the hospital, he is recognized by one of the staff. After that, he begins to regain bits and pieces of his memory, but he just doesn't want to let go of Remy.
Becky Wade has put into this book a bit of mystery, a bit of dysfunction, a bit of entitlement, and a bit of introversion. I can relate to Remy's desire for a quiet life. I am rather introverted myself.
In navigating the ins and outs of this particular novel, the reader can become so engrossed as to not put the book down until it is finished. It's not a particularly tough read, and there are some tender moments that just make the reader's heart sing. Becky has also set up a scenario for the next novel in the series. It wasn't the most skillful set up, but it is there if you watch for it.
Four stars.
Victory Editing provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
Wow!! Becky had me from the beginning. I just couldn't put this book down. This was a great mystery with romance. Remy was such a great character and I just wanted to be there with her. All the characters are good in their own ways. I highly recommend this book! I think it will become one of your favorites. I know this one has become one of mine.
Thanks NetGalley and Victory Editing Netgalley Co-op for allowing me to read this ARC.
it was a fun read that had me hooked. This was a first book from the author and from the series. I really liked it and will pick up the rest of her books.
I went into memory lane blank except that I read the blurb and I quite didn't know what to expect. For me Becky Wade would always be my go to Foreign Christian author as I've read her books and enjoyed them in the past and so I knew I'll be in for a good ride.
I loved Memory Lane as it gave me insights to how different people's reaction are a result of their past or present experiences and how so many things are beyond what we see at the surface. Memory Lane had a very good balance between romance, suspense and being a Christian fiction all at the same time. Lovers of good Christian fiction with suspense and romance should pick up this book.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC ,it was worth reading.
Absolutely fabulous:
This book was amazing and took my breath away. I loved how the story just flowed and I was drawn into the banter, intrigue and sweet romance. There was a rich emotional depth to it and I felt such a wonderfully strong connection to the characters. My heart went out to poor Remy and Jeremiah who were each hurting in their own way and I loved how they were able to overcome their obstacles and finally find faith, healing and love. I now eagerly await the next book in the series...
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
First off, if you judge a book by its cover you’ll think it’s another quirky romance. I like the cover but I’m not sure if it fit the story. I’ve read all Becky Wade’s previous books. And I’ve loved them all. To me, this was a departure from her previous stories. It was a bit darker and had more mystery to it. I enjoyed the different storylines going on within the main one also.
I've heard so many great things about Becky Wade's books and I finally read one! It was really good and I'm sure I'll be reading more from her. I have had a hard time finding clean romances that aren't cheesy, but Memory Lane hit the mark for me! Although it is basically a romance, the book also touches on some hard topics giving some weight to the book. I will certainly be picking up more books by Becky Wade! 4.5 stars for me!
I am a huge Becky Wade fan and I will eat whatever she is serving.
A huge thanks to the publisher for my complimentary copy and all opinions expressed are entirely my own. The book follows Remy who relocated to a cottage on a remote island because sometimes we try to outrun our trauma. Everything is perfect in her world until one day her binoculars picks up on a man fighting for his life . She races to save him and of courses nurses him. The man is different as he brings change to her life. The plot, the characters and the setting made this book a beauty. It was an ode to new beginnings, to grace , to hope and to love.
Ended up having to DNF this one. I was under the presumption that this was a rom com and it definitely is not. The cover is extremely misleading.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I'm all for mystery but it was kind of ruined with the other POVs included. It felt stretched toot hin to be one cohesive story but overall it makes sense. Pacing was thrown off so it took longer to finish.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Remy pulls a man out of the ocean and her and her friend nurse him back to health however the man has amnesia and has no clue who He is or his name.
As the story unravels, this quirky romantic suspense will captivate you. The characters banter and growing love for each other will captivate you and draw you in. Great read!
Love how honest Jonah is with his feelings towards Remy. How he didn’t pressure her into telling him what her terrible experience was, she felt easy opening up to him. There both honest with each about how they feel, even though Remy is a bit more guarded of herself consequences of her past experience. I enjoyed the ride of finding out who Jonah was and what he thinks of his past self. The mystery of who he was and putting the pieces back together before he went missing. Remy and “Jonah” chemistry is really good, felt natural their back and forth banter was funny.
So far this is my favorite book of 2023. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I loved her writing style and the depth she created with her characters.
The characters were relatable and likable. I really enjoyed that the reader only knew what the man with amnesia knew. It created more suspense and mystery in the book.
I couldn't put the book down and can't wait for the next book in this series.
Memory Lane by Becky Wade was a fun book to read. It has a little slow burn romance and a mystery that kept you guessing. I am thrilled this is part of a series. As much as I enjoyed this book, I am anxiously awaiting Jude’s book. I have high expectations for his story!
I thought Jeremiah was a great character and enjoyed watching him wrestle with amnesia and how he compared himself to Jeremiah 1 and 2.0. I loved it when he came back to the island.
Remy was a good character. She had a traumatic back story that Jeremiah handled superbly. I like Remy, but she did get on my nerves. I hope I am not that stubborn and foolish.
I even enjoyed the side story of her helping her friend find his long lost love. Becky did such a great job of including tidbits of Jude that I was enthralled with him. And cannot wait for his story to come out.
For fans of Becky’s – this is a sweet romance. There are not a lot of Christian messages that you might be expecting from her earlier books. However it is a great sweet romance.
Sexual content. Kissing
Violence – they think someone tried to kill him, his wife may have committed suicide or not?, Remy had been raped in the past.
I have really, really mixed feelings about this story.
On the one hand, I was so initially charmed by Remy and Jeremiah that I invested immediately. I loved Remy's dry resistance and the way she teased Jeremiah. I loved the almost playful way they traded affectionate barbs. There was something about their chemistry that made me want to see their happily-ever-after no matter what.
But, there were lots of things that took me out of the story. There were multiple points-of-view that didn't add value to me (in fact, I skimmed a whole lot). There were times that the storyline seemed to drag (more skimming). And then there were times when Remy took those playfully affectionate barbs and made them hurtful. I adored Jeremiah's devotion to Remy, but I wasn't always sure that Remy was worthy.
That said, I really did enjoy their love story, and - to a somewhat lesser extent - the mystery. I found it compelling enough to continue reading even while acknowledging that the pacing wasn't working for me. And I saw glimpses of greatness in the writing. The banter, for instance, was so great. The character development was well done. And the secondary characters added a layer of heart and charm.
In the end, I'm glad I stuck with the story. Jeremiah & Remy's happily ever after was satisfying and rewarding, but I'm not sure I'm invested enough to return for more. ~ Shelly, 3 stars
It’s been a while since I’ve been this addicted to a book. I adored every page of Memory Lane, struggled to put it down (work and sleep are so inconvenient when you have a good book), and never wanted it to end. It has just the right mix of mystery and light snarky banter based romance. It has hard-hitting emotions and epically swoon worthy romance. I loved it.
When Remy Reed pulls a man from the ocean, she brings him into her purposely secluded life. As he recovers and they discover he has amnesia, Remy puts aside her misgivings and general dislike for the stranger to nurse him back to health. He is bossy, entitled and way too handsome to have hanging around. But she is also drawn to him and his story - or lack of one. As they work to piece together the threads of his past, they only uncover more mysteries and some might be incredibly dangerous.
I wasn’t entirely what to expect from this book. Are we meant to dislike Remy’s handsome stranger and his bossy attitude? But as each page lead me deeper into Remy’s life and heart, I too couldn’t resist, we’ll call him Jonah, Jonah’s persistence and just how good he is for Remy. As each layer of the story unfolded, I kept marvelling at the depth of what Becky Wade has created in her plot and characters, while keeping it all together with the most wonderfully funny and charming chemistry between Remy and Jonah.
I loved this book. It was exactly the book I needed to make me smile (and, yes, cry a little, too).
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Review: From the start I was hooked! This is a new kind romance, Iv never read a book about amnesia but it was very well written. I really enjoyed the pace of trying to help “ Noah” better known as Jeremiah get his memory back and then you get dropped a bomb.. then I feel like it completely did a 180 and turned into a mystery. Trying to figure out what happened. Also for me this was a slow burn
I’m excited to dive into this series more with the bother brothers.
Memory Lane is a fabulous story about Remy who relocated to a remote island in Maine after suffering some trauma. She went there to get away from the business of the city and spent her time working on wood sculptures. This is until one day she spots something bobbing in the water and decided to help. She rescues the man and looks after him whilst he is injured. He doesn’t remember who he is and Remy wants to find out what has happened to him. The best way to do this is to walk down memory lane.
What a fabulous story. I absolutely loved the two main characters, felt too much admiration for Remy and how brave she was. This was a definite page turner for me, I hated putting it down as I wanted to keep finding out what was going to happen next. My first read of Becky Wade’s and I will definitely read more from her!
A deep and complex plot that kept treader engaged right to the end. The characters showed such stamina and strength that was outstanding and encouraging.
What a great read, sizzling romance and suspense are the perfect combo. Since it is a series there are some things that are discussed that the reader is left wondering what the purpose was for it. I look forward to the next book and reading more about Jude and his story. My favorite character by far was Jeremiah, very swoon worthy!
Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
