This is a new series for Becky Wade and feels a little different from the other books that she has written. Like Becky's other books, I found it well written. I will say that I found it harder to get into than her other books simply because I didn't relate to the main characters at all.

I did like the mystery element to the story and the final plot twist. The setting is unique and interesting. The book will have some triggers for some people - so if you are likely to feel triggered - do look into this before reading this book.

I receive complimentary books for various sources including, Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

Trauma drove Remy to the isolated island of Islehaven, where she's made a secure and predictable, if not always full, life for herself. But when she saves a man from drowning, her life is turned upside-down. He's injured and needs nursing, but also turns out to have amnesia. Though at first reluctant, she soon finds herself unexpectedly protective of him. Jeremiah awakes in a world where nothing and no one is familiar, but when his old life comes knocking before he's ready for it, he clings to Remy as his anchor. But Remy has her own struggles, and Jeremiah himself has questions from his old life that must be answered before he can truly move on. Can he regain his memory and find the answers to his mysteries? And can Remy overcome her past and open herself to love?

To be honest, from the cover I was actually expecting this to be a somewhat lighter book than it turned out to be - but as I delved into Remy and Jeremiah's lives, I felt no regret for what I'd expected. I was far too busy watching Remy develop from a guarded, wounded woman into a woman who could truly live, albeit with a difficult past. And Jeremiah naturally had his own struggles, though quite different - thrown into his family and his past with (at first) no memory of any of it. It made for a heart-warming, inspiring and enjoyable story, with moments of humour and banter, but also deeper expressions of love through action, along with a thread or two of mystery. And Wendell's side story made for a delightful interlude, too. I did feel a little confused early on when Jude and Fiona were introduced, but once everything came together, this worked beautifully. I'm really looking forward to reading Jude's story. Highly recommended.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

Remy, our FMC is living in seclusion after facing a horrible trauma. She is content to live out her days quietly working on her art and having only her few senior neighbors as company. That is until she spots a man struggling out in the water with no boat in sight. With no other option she jumps into action and saves our MMC "Jonah" whom we later learn is Jeremiah, a man from one of Americas wealthiest families.

Not only did this one include some romance but it also included mystery, talk about previous trauma and how to overcome it, and so much more. I don't want to keep going in the description but this book was amazing from the first page to the last. Definitely a faith based read but it was overall incredible.

What a great start to Becky Wade’s Sons of Scandal series! Memory Lane introduces readers to the Camden family, with lots of stories being set up that I’m so excited to learn more about In future books. In this first book, Remy and Jeremiah have their love story told, and I truly did fall in love with these two. They are definitely an example of opposites attract, but they fit together so well. I’ll admit I didn’t see certain plot twists coming, so amidst the romance there’s a solid mystery that will keep you intrigued. Like I said before, I can’t wait for more in this series! 4.5/5 stars

Before reading this book, I would have said that amnesia stories are not my favorite. Though, I can't think of a single amnesia book that I have actually read, so I was hoping this book would change my opinion. While it helped make this story special, I'm still not sure amnesia books are what I'll personally gravitate towards in the future.

I do have to say that I love the mystery that comes with amnesia stories. I love how the mysteries were woven throughout this story. That was not something I expected, but truly enjoyed.

One of the things I love most about Becky Wade's writing is her character development. Her characters are some of my favorites. They are always so wonderfully complex and well created.

The two things that kept this book from being a five star read for me is that I personally found the beginning to be a little slower than I would have liked - although that was where the amnesia story line was set up, so take that thought with a grain of salt - and I didn't feel that this book was as heavy on the faith aspects as some of her other stories I have read. Though this is marketed as a Christian Romance, it wasn't too heavy on the Christian - and at the same time, it wasn't too hot and heavy on the romance. It was a nice balance between the two. But I do enjoy Becky Wade's books for their Christian elements woven throughout.

Also, please be aware of the trigger warnings for this book. There is some mentions of a past rape, although it does not happen on the pages of the story.

The books I have read by Becky Wade have all been fabulous reads. This one might just be near the top of the list! I am so excited to see that this book is the first in a new series! I look forward to reading more of the Sons of Scandal series. And what a great name this series has!

An enjoyable romance... what happens when you take a hero with amnesia, a heroine who's hiding from the world, and a mystery? Add a dash of attraction, and you have a sweet romance from one of my favorite authors. I really enjoyed this novel set in Maine. It has the rich characterization and heart I expect from a Becky Wade novel.

Thank you VICTORY EDITING AND NETGALLEY FOR AN ARC OF MEMORY LANE

🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars

reading the blurb of this book insantly had me hooked. Remy living on a secluded island off maine happens to pull a stranger from the water and aid him back to health. Only issue? He suffered from amnesia during the accident. Now remy and jeremiah try to uncover his past and help find his identity AND HOW HE ENDED UP IN THE WATER THAT NIGHT

THE STORYLINE INSTANTLY DREW ME IN. THE IDEA AND CONCEPT BEHIND THE BOOK WAS SO intriguing and had me turning the pages so fast to find out what happened. Jeremiah had my heart swooning so much. Remy tended to frustrate me. I know she had her reasons but the fact it took the last 10% of the book for her to come to the realisation annoyed me. Like what are you doing remy!!! Jeremiah is perfect for you. their banter was so fun and had me laughing out loud and when they were good i was so giddy but every time she pulled away i must admit it made me want to stop reading.

however i definitely wasnt expecting that ending. The plot twist had me shocked!!

overall if you love small town/cabin romance with a bit of mystery/thriller this is the perfect book for you.

Thank you netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for allowing me to read this book. I really like how you jump right into the story but it got slow and didn’t hold my interest much after that until the end. I liked the characters but I was hoping for more chemistry. I understood Remy was going through stuff but it frustrated me how badly she seemed to treat Jeremiah when she kept pushing him away. He was going through a lot and he still did everything in his power to make her happy. The part that I liked the most was the mystery. I loved Marisol and Wendell’s love story so much!!! I really liked the ending and did not see the plot twist coming!

4.5 Stars. I couldn't put this book down! When Remy, a reclusive young woman living on a remote island discovers a man struggling in the ocean she jumps in her boat and rescues him. He is badly injured and has amnesia. I loved following the characters as they delve into the mystery of who he is and what happened to him. This story is crafted with humor and heart, a bit of suspense, and quite a bit of steam for a clean romance. I loved the banter between the main characters and I was smiling throughout the whole beginning and then I was hooked. The story grows deeper as we get to know the characters and the dark aspects of each of their pasts. The pacing was perfect and kept me wanting to pick the book back up every chance I got.

One caveat is that sexual assault and its impacts were dealt with so some readers may find this a sensitive topic. Some drawbacks for me personally were the amount of focus on physical intimacy and mentions of alcohol consumption, but compared to mainstream books it was pretty light. There were very light faith elements and a few mentions of church and God, but it did not feel like a religious book. I think readers of Katherine Center and Liane Moriarty would like this book. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series as it becomes available!

I appreciate NetGalley and the publisher sending me an advanced reader copy ro read and review.

Memory Lane - Becky Wade 4.5 stars

Trigger warnings
Rape, sexual assault, infidelity, betrayal, mention of suicide and religion

I didn’t really know what to expect when I picked up Memory Lane by Becky Wade but I’m so glad I did because I absolutely loved it. This was the first novel I read from this author any I can’t wait to enjoy more of her work in the future.

If I was to judge this book by it’s cover I’d say it would be a cute, wholesome romance featuring a cosy cabin setting and sailing. I did not except all of the suspense, mystery and excitement.

This story follows Remy Reed, a trauma survivor, who moved to Islehaven, Maine to escape her past and rebuild herself and her life exactly the way she wants. She definitely did not expect to be saving a man from the middle of the ocean, who had sustained serious bodily injuries but has no memory of what happened. He has amnesia.

The two do not get along, sharing Remy’s small space is difficult and she cannot wait to find out his identity to be able return him to his family so she can get back to her life. His health takes a turn for the worse so Remy accompanies him to the mainland where his identity unravels and his memories slowly begin to return.

This book is so exciting and easy to read, I finished it in less than two days. The author set a beautiful scene and introduced us to two beautifully complex main characters who you cannot help but to love. They have undeniable chemistry and such witty banter, like they were made for each other. We met a lot of other wonderful characters who’s stories I cannot wait to read in the rest of the series.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to curl up and read a unique romantic, suspenseful mystery novel set on the beautiful coast of Maine. This is categorised as a Christian Romance and while there was definitely mention of God, church and religion it wasn’t too much, which I liked.

Thank you NetGalley the advance copy of Memory Lane by Becky Wade in exchange for an honest review. All words are my own.

Oh wow, where should I even begin with this book?! I'm honestly at a loss of words right now, but what I can say is that it was amazing!!

This book has literally everything I love and more:
✅ romance
✅ strangers-to-lovers
✅ small town
✅ suspense/mystery/thriller!!
✅ and this cover?! I basically knew I'd love this book right then and there!

The story follows Remy Reed - who after surviving a trauma a few years back decides to leave big city life and moves to a small, peaceful and quiet island named Islehaven to live her peaceful, calm and quiet life. Remy spends her days with a long settled routine: waking up early in the morning and going for a walk, then doing yoga, and then spending the rest of her day working on her wood sculptures.

Until one day she spots something odd in the ocean - "something odd" being a mysterious man afloat and from the looks of it very much in need of help. Without a second thought Remy drops everything and runs to help him.
The mysterious man is injured and in urgent need of care. He doesn't have any ID on him and once he wakes up he doesn't recall who he is, how he got there, what he was doing. Nothing. Remy makes a decision to look after him and discover who he is so that she can notify his family and bring him back to them.

I most definitely fell in love with Remy and Jeremiah - I won't even start at the perfection of a book boyfriend that Jeremiah is. Their character and relationship development was one of the most beautiful things I read. I feel everything happened at such right pace, at the right time and it was absolute delight to experience each and every moment. No rush. No "too fast". No "well I didn't expect this happening now!". Nothing. It was per-fect! ❤️

The more Jeremiah tries to remember himself, his life, the more he realizes that there's a big mystery to solve. And honest to world I was hooked until the very last page! When reading last chapters I myself was almost hyperventilating, nervous and anxious to finally getting so close to solving the mystery! Wow, just wow! I don't think I ever felt so many emotions at the same time when reading a book, it caught me by an-amazingly-positive surprise and I loved every second of it!

Becky Wade's writing is simply fantastic, as well as the attention to detail to everything is out-of-this-world in this book . The fact that we get to meet and know more closely more than the main characters only is an even better addition to the book itself: I loved being involved in Wendell's life; I loved getting to know Jude (and I cannot wait to read his story! 🥺), and also getting a glimpse of Fiona's life.

I definitely don't want to give much away, so let me just say that this book was a page-turner for me. I didn't expect I'd love it so much and now I cannot wait to grab myself a physical copy of this book and place it proudly at its very well deserved space on my bookshelf.

TW: infidelity, panic attacks/anxiety, sexual assault, rape, death of a loved one.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Becky Wade for providing me the early copy of this book.

This was an intriguing story. The mystery of who hurt Jeremiah and if it was related to his search for the truth concerning his wife's death was handled so well that I didn't figure it out until the reveal. Remy and Jeremiah were an unexpected surprise- their banter was witty and their interactions were both sweet and bittersweet. Both of them were in need of healing and they provided the balm for the other. The supporting characters are wonderful and Jonah's story is one I'm looking forward to reading.

For several years, Remy Reed has been living on one of Maine’s most remote islands, as a way of coping from a traumatic event in her past. Her life is compartmentalised into working on her wood sculptures and enjoying the quiet, natural environment. Yet, Remy’s tranquillity is shattered when she rescues a man from drowning. Forced to look after him, she begins to feel something for him, even if he is too handsome, too charming and bossy. She would love to get him back home, but when he can’t remember anything about his past, not even the events that led him to being in the water, she is drawn to helping him as he depends on her. Yet, Remy struggles with what will happen, when he no longer needs her.
This story had me captivated from the start, and I was intrigued with all the smaller storylines besides Remy and Jeremiah’s story. Gradually the story was revealed, with depth added as each character gave their perspective. There was also a perfect balance between the romance and they mystery surrounding Jeremiah’s accident as well as Remy’s past which were all cleverly interwoven together. This was such a delight to read and I am so looking forward to what will be a great series.

I couldn’t put this book down! The story pulled me in right away, the mysteries and danger held me in suspense, and the unfolding backstories of the characters fascinated me. I was struck by the contrasts in the two main characters. Trying to forget an unforgettable traumatic experience, Remy Reed moved to a remote island in Maine where she pursued her art and lived a quiet, predictable existence until the day she rescued a man who was near drowning in view of her cottage. The handsome man was in bad condition and had an cranky, picky attitude which, contrasted with his lazy charm, got on her last nerve. He had injuries consistent with having been beaten and he had no recollection of who he was or where he was from despite his desperation to remember. Remy was determined to help him recover his memory and heal from his injuries so he could return to his people (and get out of her orderly life) as quickly as possible. Their banter cracked me up and their developing relationship was so complex, unexpected, and romantic. I enjoyed reading the book and look forward eagerly to the next one in the series. Highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions. #MemoryLanebyBeckyWade #NetGalley

4.5/5 stars (rounded up to 5!)

I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I've been meaning to read one of Becky's books for a long time now, and I finally decided to start with her newest series. I ended up loving this one and can't wait to read the rest of the series (and hopefully pick up a few of her previous ones!)

Remy Reed lives on Islehaven, a rather remote island off the coast of Maine, where she spends her days working on wood sculptures in the solitude of her cabin. These peaceful days are disrupted when she spots a man in the water outside her home, barely keeping his head above water. She rushes to his rescue and discovers he has further injuries, including a head injury that has caused him to lose all of his memories. Remy is determined to get him back home, wherever that may be. Together, they work to figure out who he is and what happened to him.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! It's a Christian contemporary romance, but it's also full of mystery and suspense. I was as equally invested in the mystery as I was the romance!

While I loved Remy and "Jonah", I also enjoyed the many side characters in the story. (Jude, I'm pretty sure you're getting a book and I can't wait to read it!) I loved that there were several smaller plots with the side characters going on alongside the main plot, and everything seemed to tie back into the main story by the end. The characters all felt authentic and were well-written.

I laughed out loud several times as I made my way through this! As suspenseful and serious as this book was at times, there were plenty of humorous and swoon-worthy scenes that made me smile. I enjoyed this book from start to finish!

Between the charming romance, loveable cast of characters, beautiful setting, intriguing plot, and Christian themes, it was impossible for me to not love this book! I'd recommend it to fans of Christian romance books, especially for fans who like suspense!

Content: clean romance, but there are some things that could be very triggering for some readers (one character experienced a trauma in the past and it is brought up several times)

Something about Maine is so magical. It was the perfect backdrop for this stunning book. I laughed, I cried, I felt deeply. Definitely recommend.

Wow! Becky Wade totally hit the ball out of the ballpark this time! I couldn't love Memory Lane any more than I do! Absolutely love Remy and Jeremiah. They both had been through so much and came through their struggles with God on their side. I was drawn in right from the beginning and could have kept reading even longer. I can't wait to read Jude's story in the next of the Sons of Scandal series.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

4.5⭐️ A fantastic read and the first book I’ve read by this author. The cute cover reeled me in and the premise of the book solidified my interest. Remy, a wood sculptor, lives in a remote village on the coast of Maine, sees a person in the ocean trying to keep his head above water. She goes out in her boat and rescues him. On the edge of hypothermia, she nurses him back to health. Unfortunately he has amnesia and cannot remember who he is, but he was wearing a wedding ring when she rescued him. Will he find his identity? The character development is superb, the plot twists keep your attention all the way through the book. It was a page turner and I could not put it down. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I will be recommending this book to my friends.
