Cross Stitch Celebrations: Graduation is a lovely resource for those that want to make graduation (or some school) related cross stitch. I have been crafting most of my life, but I still get nervous and antsy when it comes to creating custom designs and patterns. Knowing what needs to happen, and doing it, felt miles apart. I liked the way the author acknowledged the anxiousness many of us feel and helped readers the tools to work through it rather than dismissing it out of hand. I liked the variety of pattern details included, and some of the suggestions for customization and a successful project. I think that this book offers a great deal of valuable information and would be a great resource when planning graduation related projects. It is not a book I would buy for my personal collection (I am out of shelf space and this is pretty specialized) but this would be a great addition to library collections.
This is a Lovely book and has some really nice patterns in it to do can't wait to get started for future Graduations.
(thanks to net galley for this book.)
As a high school teacher, I was looking for gifts I could make for my graduating seniors. This book is chock-full of great ideas with easy to follow instructions.
Thank you!
The book has clear instructions. The patterns are very cute. I like how the patterns can be modified to the person the embroidery is intended for.
Very useful book with a lot of cute patterns. The instructions are clear and I like that you can personalize the embroidery.
Cute patterns with clear instructions. I love these types of books
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book.
The book was very informative and well organized. Not only did it have cute and modern patterns, but it explained how to somewhat draft my own. This book would be amazing for a beginner.

I have a multitude of memories cross stitching. This book brought memories of gifted pictures and such I did years ago.
This book is nice. The directions are clear and explained. A beginner could pick this up, pick up the supplies, and begin. The book uses the patterns multiple ways. I always enjoyed seeing other projects. That is why I always bought a book or kit. In this situation, graduation is the theme.
Very well done. I'm not sure it gets any easier.
This is a great book and a great addition to my cross stitch pattern collection. I think these patterns and techniques could be added to any cross stitch you'd like.
This cross stitch book is full of great templates to help people create fun graduation themed designs. Lots of different patterns to insure there is something for everyone. Great resource for anyone who likes to cross stitch.
A helpful cross stitch guide to creating and designing your own graduation themed patterns. Contains lots of templates and ideas.
This is really beautifully presented, and has lots of basic information with clear illustrations. The projects are great - I particularly loved the project to celebrate a graduand who uses a wheelchair.
Some ideas have broader applications, like a patterned book border. I would love to use this on a book pocket for my daughter who reads non-stop.
There is also lettering and number pattern charts.
There are plenty of ideas for ways to display your creations - pennants, cards, notebooks etc.
I really found this fun to look through and inspiring too.
There are some great patterns included in this book. Some are quick and easy patterns, such as the front of a graduation card, and others a bit more complicated. There is a really cool pattern that makes the finished product look like a confetti border. It is well-written with clear and concise patterns and instructions. Many of the patterns could be used for other celebrations and the patterns are also customizable with different words and letters and class colors.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a fun book! It includes a bunch of patterns showing you how to make your own graduation announcement and other graduation-themed cross stitches. The book includes patterns along with photos to help you make your own graduation cross stich. There's enough information and it seems approachable enough that even beginners can use it.
Overall a nice find!
I am a huge Mollie Johanson fan, so I was excited to see an entire book of her cute patterns in graduation themed cross stitch projects. The book begins with some cross stitch basics and how to use the book's patterns to plan your own designs. Then it is on to the patterns, which include graduates, cute educational motifs, as well as borders, alphabets, and numbers. My favorites are the laptop, books border, jersey (easy to change to your school or favorite team's colors), and beaker. They are all too cute! This book is easy enough for any beginner or a seasoned cross stitcher to use to create one-of-a-kind projects to honor a graduate or school celebration.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is an excellent book. It has some wonderful education themed motifs as well as several alphabets of various sizes, numbers, and borders. The book also includes instructions in print and photographs/illustrations for how to do some basic stitches, as well as finishing instructions so the projects can be finished in many different ways. The author has created this book to be one that beginners can easily use to learn not only how to cross-stitch, but also how to combine elements to make personalized and unique gifts/keepsakes and she provides tips, tricks, and advice for doing just that. The book also has something to offer those who are not beginners. The motifs, letters, numbers, and borders can be used in a mix-and-match sort of way and while stitchers can certainly use all the elements to create projects that are educationally themed, the alphabets, numbers, and borders can be used for any kind of project--I can see them being used to excellent effect for birth announcements, wedding day stitching, birthdays, anniversaries, and more. Projects that are made to celebrate an educational milestone can be made in school colours..
This book contains pages full of inspiration and I highly recommend it.
I love all types of sewing, but cross stitch tapestry is my all time favourite, so I knew I had to see this book. It is full of beautiful, unique and memorable embroidery ideas, for celebrating one of life’s achievements - graduation. Each stitch you’ll need is introduced and taught with accompanying photographs, and the actual patterns are clear, simple, and easy to follow - perfect for a total beginner or experienced sewer alike. You can follow the patterns exactly, or use the skills to create your own patterns and ideas. Would definitely recommend.
