Float Plan is still my favorite in this series, but this is a close second. I enjoyed revisiting Anna and Keane, while meeting their loved ones and experiencing a little time in Ireland. Fans of the author will enjoy, and audio narration was great!
This was a super fun read. I enjoyed the narrator and her descriptions of the adventures that the characters encountered on their travels through Ireland. The book certainly makes me want to travel more!
4/5 Stars - 1.5/ 5 Spice - Book #3 of the Beck Sister series.
This was a very light and cute insta-love rom-com. I loved both of the MC's and it was a nice adventurous book! I love the independence these books seem to create, while still being lovely romance stories.
Brief Plot: Clara is in Ireland for her best friends wedding, and Eamon has been tasked with driving her to his brother's wedding. The chemistry between the two is INSTANT, and Clara starts to bring out more adventurous ideas for Eamon. But as the wedding gets closer, and both of them open up about their wants and needs, both have to decide what their future holds for them, and if that could include one another.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for an eARC Audiobook copy of Off the Map, written by Trish Dollar, and narrated by Sarah Naughton. This is my honest review!
What did I like? The travel and descriptions. The challenge to grab life by the horns and live! I loved the hard lessons about abandonment and finding family along the way. About being responsible and not blaming others for your choices. I loved the instant chemistry between the main characters. The “machetes of truth” were spot on! I did not like the explicit physical scenes. The tender moments were sweet and that would have been enough. I really enjoyed the narrator and her ability to capture mood, emotion, gender, and accents.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

I really enjoyed this audiobook! The narrator did a phenomenal job and made it so much more enjoyable!
I loved the lightness and insta-attraction between the characters as they met and then went off the rails and did some exploring and bonding before a wedding they were to be the maid of honor and best man at.
I then loved the way the “80% breakup” was done in this one because it was something that needed to happen for both MC’s.
There were some light and heavy bits which is on par for this series and something I loved so much!
Thank you so much to the publisher for my ALC in exchange for my honest review!
1.5 stars.
I really think this could have been a great book, but I found the main character (Carla) to be so utterly annoying that I couldn’t get past it. She had a know-it-all complex and was just all around snobby with her knowledge of travel. It really felt like the author was trying really hard to make Carla seem special because she’s a non-materialistic world traveler.
I typically don’t like instalove stories, but I felt like it was okay in this particular story because they do spend an inordinate amount of time together before the wedding. Besides having an annoying main character, it was on its way to being at least 3 stars, but the more I read, the more I disliked Carla. She thinks she knows everything, and I quickly got tired of it. If I knew Carla in real life, I would avoid her like the plague.
I also felt like both Carla and Eamon are being super selfish with going on their "detours" right before Carla's best friend's and Eamon's brother's wedding. And to tack onto it, Eamon has the friggin' rings! I just couldn't latch onto this love bandwagon when they're both being so selfish with their fling. Eamon turns out not to be so bad besides the rings part, and I wholeheartedly feel like Carla doesn't deserve Eamon with the way she is. Alas, no romance is complete without the reconciliation after a conflict, so we know they end up together in the end.
This is another book where I didn’t realize it was part of a series. I’m unsure if I want to read the others or not based on this book, but this does work as a standalone.
I had no issues with the narration.
This book gives me intense wanderlust! I want to be like Carla & drive off into the sunset & explore the world! I love Carla’s fierceness & her love for Biggie! Their relationship was so sweet and tender. Eamonn is hunky & absolutely perfect! He had me swooning from the start.
Off the Map is the third delightful adult novel written by Trish Doller. Each book is connected but they definitely stand alone. This novel features Carla Black, seasonal bartender, world traveler, somewhat loner. The story begins when she arrives in Dublin to join the brother of her best friend’s groom.
Carla is to be maid of honor for Anna Beck (Float Plan) while Eamon Sullivan will be best man for his brother Keane. As Carla heads towards the airport exit, she gets a text from Eamon to meet him at a small pub, so much easier than finding a stranger in a busy airport terminal. As Eamon is working this day to be able to be away for a week, it is afternoon before he arrives and is joyfully greeted so Carla can get away from a fellow who just won’t take a hint.
Carla and Eamon just click. When she learns Eamon has dreamt of traveling off the beaten path, rather than going straight to the village where his family lives, they take his Land Rover and travel off the map. As they travel together, they keep making excuses for a late arrival until they can delay no longer.
When emotions become tangled and their time comes to a close, Carla heads back to the states with the express objective of seeing her Dad, Biggie, who is slipping to dementia. When first diagnosed, Biggie had cut her loose to travel the world without him. They had traveled together since she was a small child and her mother left them. Marrying his long time girlfriend, Stella, Biggie is well cared for and Stella maintains the video chat relationship between father and daughter. After being with the large Sullivan family, Carla wants that relationship no longer, but wants to be with her Dad for as long as possible.
This is such a good story! Ms. Doller touches on so many emotions with humor and heart. I very much enjoyed this book, as I did the first two in this series, and do recommend it.

I'm really tired of comparing women to one another women, especially in a genre written by women, for women. It's not necessary to put the ex down by infantilizing social media and interior design as interests.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley, Macmillan audio, St Martins Griffin, and the author Trish Doller for an ALC in exchange for honest review. I have really loved this emotional romance series and book 3 has my head and heart. This was my first Macmillan audiobook and it was absolutely perfection. I have pre-ordered the book and cannot wait to hug and annotate it. I felt instantly connected to Carla and her dad ( in a similar but different situation with my dad) she wrote this book wuth such care and compassion
Trish has cemented herself as an autobuy author for mw i am looking forward to everything ahe writes.
3.75 I wanted to LOVE this. It started off so cute and cozy! I love the adventure aspect and the tight buttoned up guy relaxing and living with the hippie world traveler and her settling down. I enjoyed both of them questioning feelings and thoughts and the life they had built. But once we got into the adventure, I found I didn’t really love the characters as much. And I hate hate hate when we bash exes. It’s fine it didn’t work out and you’re bitter, but when they are both sitting there talking about how awful she is, I was done. Cute idea, just lost me at one point. Love the cover and the narrator. I was able to get an advanced audiobook from NetGalley. I have heard good things about the author and will definitely check out her other stuff!
Another winner from Trish Doller! I love all her books and this was no exception. She writes such compassionate stories but they are also funny and the love stories are steamy and fabulous. The narration was great and I loved the Irish accent.
Definitely meet Carla and Eamon. I loved their story. The initial meet, through their spontaneous road trip, celebrating life, and the troubles they go through are so heartfelt. This is a fun heartbreaking story.
And as a bonus you get more Anna and Keane! I loved this third book in the Beck Sisters series.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book.
Off the Map by Trish Doller is a steamy romance set primarily in Ireland. In it, the heroine, an independent woman filled with wanderlust, has a fling with the best man of her friend's wedding. She inspires him to throw caution to the wind and wander, too, and their adventures make up much of the book.
The audiobook narrator is fantastic! She brings the story to life with her expressive reading skills. She uses vocal differentiation and accents to keep the characters' dialogue clear and it is easy to tell who is speaking, and somehow you will forget that it is only one person doing the narration. I highly recommend the audiobook!

So I have an educator account so Netgalley asked me if I would use this in curriculum and that answer is no! BUT only because this is a book for adults obviously! I love romance novels and as a teacher I don't take much time for myself but boy was this book worth the time! I loved so many things about it, including the audiobook narrator and the voices she gave each character!
I feel like sometimes as a romance reader everything seems so predictable, like once you've read one romance novel you've read them all... but that just wasn't true with this book! Did it have a love story that was kind of predictable - yes. However, there was a family dynamic added into the story that usually romance books don't bother to include and I loved that this one included it! It gave you so much to think about as you read or listened to the audiobook!
I usually cry when I read romance novels during the typical romantic parts but I found myself shedding more tears over the family situation then I did over the romance. Therefore, it kept me interested and intrigued until the very end of the book! 5 stars for this one! The audiobook is great as well if you prefer to listen!
I have not read the two prior books in this series, but this read well as a standalone.
Carla is a bartender during winter, then when April hits, she travels the world. Her mom left when she was a child and she and her dad travelled. He now has Alzheimer's and encouraged her to see the world rather than stay with him, so she honors his wishes. She's a no relationship kind of gal.
Carla goes to Ireland for her best friend's wedding. The groom's brother, Eamon, has agreed to take her from Dublin to Tralee for teh wedding. They meet up in a pub, time flies and the attraction is strong, and it's not just physical.
Eamon is a good son, a hard worker and good employee. He is solid. Carla convinces him to take a few detours along the way to the wedding and the trip ends up taking a few days. During this time their attraction grows.
It's a wee bit spicy. Has some humor. And also has some sad moments. I really liked Carla and Eamon as a couple. I felt they complimented each other well and brought out the best in each other.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for an ALC in exchange for my honest review.
2.5 stars
Book 3 in the Beck Sisters series. (A bit of a misnomer as the characters are Anna Beck's friend and Keane's brother). Completely works as stand alone.
Carla is in Ireland to be the maid of honor for her friend Anna's wedding. Eamon, the groom's brother, is to pick her up. When he arrives at the bar, Carla kisses him immediately- before he even knows who she is. Their attraction is immediate. On the way to the wedding venue, they take a series of detours, including an encounter with a drunk bull. Their short expedition has them both evaluating their lives and their goals.
So... I can summarize this book in a few words. Spoilers ahead, but tagged as such. <spoiler> They meet. They have sex- a lot. They fall in love. All within four days. They are at different places in their lives. Carla goes home to be with her dad, dad dies. Eamon shows up. They travel the world together. The end. </spoiler>
My two main issues with this book is the insta-love. And like insta-love to the extreme. Their entire relationship is four days long. And the fact that the majority of the first half is them having sex. Very much open door. I am not a prude- I have read far spicier books. However, that is nearly the only thing happening. I prefer a bit of substance to go along with the smut, lol.
Sarah Naughton narrates the audio version. No complaints there.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I’m still trying to wrap my head and heart around this perfect book.
One of the things that I enjoyed most about it is that the first half (and then some), are just so joyful. Every book needs good conflict, and Off the Map has it, but a good romance needs a lot of fun and happiness, too. I loved Carla and Eamon’s adventures together across Ireland. I wanted to jump into the book with them and go on an adventure.
The conflict with their respective parents was so real, and by the end of the book I felt like I knew Biggie as well as Carla did.
This book made me laugh, cry, swoon, and feel all the big things that life throws at us.
Trish this book is an absolute gem, and you have found a fan in me.
🎧 I listened to the audiobook and Sarah Naughton does a superb job. Her Irish accents made me smile and her depiction of Carla was pitch perfect.
I went into this book having no idea it was third in a series. However, I don't feel like I was missing anything. I loved this book! I really enjoyed the journey Carla and Eamon went through together. I loved the self discovery aspect. Her dad and his wife were great. The music and wanderlust aspects were perfect. This was a great, quick read that I would recommend again and again! #OfftheMap #NetGalley
I absolutely adored this book. It had such a wonderful sense of adventure, and gave me the deep desire to hop in the car and travel the country. However, the book was so much more. The characters were richly developed and the plot was so much more than a typical chic- lit book. It deals with big issues (such as her mothers abandonment and her fathers dementia and death) on a very relatable level. I loved Carla’s character and the path she takes as the story progresses. What starts out as a girl on a road trip develops into a heart felt and touching novel. I loved it. 5 stars!!
