Fly With Me by Andie Burke is a fantastic debut from Andie Burke. A sapphic romance that gave me all the feels. I loved the sapphic romance. Fake dating trope, done in such a fantastic style.
Olive and Stella were #goals for me.
A great romance with lgbt rep that I can relate to.
Looking forward to more books from this author.
I was a little disappointed . I loved the characters but I thought the plot arc needed more work. I think also we were deprived of Stella ever making a grand gesture in the book.
I really enjoy books that focus on anxieties and mental health and this one was so well done.
The MC felt relatable and the story was cute. I’m a sucker for romance in unusual settings and situations. You can’t help but look for a HEA.
Huge thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC
A great debut sapphic romance. The story is well-written and easy to follow. The MCs are likable and keep the reader engaged and interested in what happens to them. I didn't expect it to be as deep as it was compared to many romance novels. The themes went beyond the typical tropes and made this one of my favorite romance readers of the year.
If you love a good romance, want something a little more in depth, and like happy endings then this book is probably for you.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this work in exchange for my honest review.
I had a blast with this book and will have absolutely no trouble selling this in the store for readers of sapphic (sexy) romance and lovers of the fake dating / miscommunication tropes. This couple made me yell at the pages to kiss already, let me tell you. I love the focus on mental health, anxiety, and identified with Olive more than I'd like to admit. Four enthusiastic stars!
This is a perfect example of fake dating romance done right. The chemistry between Olive and Stella is palpable through the pages. The writing was beautifully done, and there were many tough subjects that I think Burke did wonderfully at properly handling. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for that book that has both depth and love.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
What a great debut novel! The elements that made me request this arc were:
✨ Cover Art
✨ Sapphic Romance
✨ Fake Dating
✨ Travel themed
What kept me reading were:
✨ Banter
✨ Real life, heavy topics
✨ Disney adventures
✨ Family dynamics
I would recommend this book for romance readers of all kind! Fly With Me isn’t just cute, it’s real. Stella’s dad has Parkinson’s. She enters into a fake relationship so she will “seriously” be considered for a promotion in a male-dominated industry. Olive is fighting to honor her brother’s wishes when the rest of the family doesn’t agree or understand. As someone who works in end-of-life care I found this heavy but REAL. Olive faces a crazy ex-girlfriend who got on my nerves, but people deal with these issues when they became “known”.
Andie did a phenomenal job and I loved seeing Olive and Stella’s story develop. I wish I could have them for a bit longer!
I really liked the anxiety rep in this, and how Stella was so caring and understanding about Olive's fears. I felt like these two were so good for each other. They were both so supportive and caring. My biggest issue with this book came from the third act conflict and the drama coming from the ex girlfriend trying to stir up drama. But overall a really good book that I highly recommend!

A heartwarming, fun read. Spotted a few inconsistencies, but since I had an advance copy that can happen at times. I hope the writer keeps writing!
Great organic romance and wonderful characterization. Loved the father daughter relationship and the LI being a pilot.
SWEET SPICY AND SAPPHIC? Oh AND Fake dating!?!?!
Sign me up!!!!
I’m so happy to be on a reading streak of books full of neurodiverse & mental health rep. Makes my heart so happy!
Thank you to the publisher, the author & to NetGalley for the Arc.
Olive is a nurse who is terrified of flying. While trying to deal with her fear, she finds herself helping a passenger’s medical emergency. She ends up saving his life. While she was in action, unknown to her she was being videotaped by passengers. When finished with the sick passenger. She found herself being applauded. The plane landed but not where Olive was hoping to be. The pilots of the plane thanked her. One of the pilots was a woman who Olive thought was beautiful. When the pilot learned where she wanted to be so she could participate in a race for her brother in the hospital. Olive and Stella are a wonderful couple even with Stella fake dating Olive. Olive falls for Stella even though she knows it’s not real — they’re just friends or are they? Both of them have demanding jobs with frustrating family situations.
A terrific romance of two lesbians didn’t want to get involved — just friends. After all they were complete opposites. Olive is messy while Stella is not messy. It was a delight for me to read as it has thoughtful dialogue especially when confronted with their own family situations. Olive visits Jake (Stella’s father who has Parkinson’s) and Stella helps out her father even though it is difficult for her. The external stressor of Olive’s sabotaging ex, Lindsay, feels to add some late-stage conflict but Olive is also dealing with the death of her brother. Their conflicts makes it so interesting to see how they deal with it.

Thank you @smpromance for the ARC of Fly With Me which is out now!
Well, I didn’t love this one. I probably would’ve DNF’d it if it wasn’t an ARC. There was plenty I enjoyed - the MCs, their chemistry, the spice, & the general plot. But there was more that I struggled with.
The characters moving without moving bothered me. E.g. Olive was on a walk and suddenly she’s throwing her phone down on the kitchen counter. I found it really jarring to try to keep up with where the characters are and to read like that.
⚠️ Spoilers Ahead ⚠️
It felt like so much time was spent in insignificant scenes, but I wanted more elsewhere. I also wanted more of a conclusion with Olive’s familial estrangement. That drama was so serious but I didn’t think it was fully fleshed out or resolved. Does Olive make peace with the estrangement? What’s the deal with Olive’s dad? Are we supposed to be sympathetic towards Olive’s mom in the end? The tensions came to a fever pitch and then were never addressed again.
⚠️ Spoilers Over ⚠️
Overall, I think many people will enjoy it. Personally, I thought it was fine for a debut novel.

A very enjoyable read! I enjoyed the realistic depiction of the characters and interesting initial meet cute balanced with some really family and job dynamics. I think my biggest complaint is that the book maybe had too many subplots for the length and number of characters. I think a little bit tighter of plots would have helped me feel less whiplash between the topics.
Overall great debut and excited to see what Andie Burke writes next! Thank for you the advanced copy!
I was lucky enough to help beta this sapphic romance a year or so ago, and instantly knew I was reading something special.
The story of Stella the pilot and Olive the flight-phobic nurse is so real, hilarious, and swoonworthy. It also deftly and tenderly deals with hard topics such as anxiety, depression and family loss. But since this is a romance, you gotta balance this with banter and steam, and let me tell you Andie is a pro at BOTH.
Other fun things this book contains: fake dating, Disney World hijinks, and copious amounts of Swedish Fish.
It’s been so fun to reread this and fall in love with this love story all over again. I’m so, so proud of Andie and cannot recommend FLY WITH ME enough!!
I really liked both of the main characters; they're quite relatable. The plot had a lot going on, which kept things engaging. The writing is solid, no doubt about that. However, despite all these positives, I still found myself skimming through parts of it. It's hard to put my finger on it, but there was just that undefinable spark missing for me. I'm pretty sure it's a personal thing, so don't take my reaction as gospel. If the book sounds intriguing to you, I'd say go ahead and give it a shot.
There's so much to love about this book I couldn't possibly name it all. I am sure to follow the rest of Burke's writing career, and can't wait to see more from her.
THIS BOOK! I cannot tell you how much I loved this romcom! I was hooked from the very first page and I think anyone who loves a laugh out loud steamy book is going to love this one!
You will fall in love with the characters immediately! This is the perfect fall romance book that you can curl up with and swoon over!
Highly recommend! Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press!

This was a sweet, funny, dramatic, and fun queer romcom. It had interesting characters, an intriguing initial hook, and a compelling plot and conflicts to follow. I really enjoyed it, I’ve already recommended it to a couple friends, and I can’t wait to see what else the writer creates.
