First off fake dating is my favorite trope, second this book was sooo good, awesome characters and romance, I loved the build up and the way they comforted each other and were just there for each other throughout the whole novel

Fly With Me by Andie Burke
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This LGBTQ+ book made me laugh out loud and have tear filled eyes. The relationship was heartfelt and I was deeply touched by Olive and Jake's storyline.

I loved all the characters, the setting and was so pleased when I read the introduction - this book was written by a fellow nurse while she was on the COVID front lines. How this book would have been a welcome respite during that harrowing time (had it been out then).

I hope this book takes off and becomes a huge hit when it is released!!

Thank you St. Martins Press for my ARC and Congratulations Andie!!

DNF at 22%. I loved the idea behind the story, and the characters were so fun and engaging. But the plot just fell flat for me. It seemed to jump from idea to idea, and I had trouble staying invested in the story. I really looked forward to picking up this story, but it was not for me.

This romance is so cute! I really enjoyed the love story, but appreciated the family-related storylines even more. Both women are dealing with emotional struggles of their own, but they’re able to come together and become stronger.

Even though it’s a classic romance story arc, the family subplot is very emotional. Fair warning, you might cry.

What a darling romance which surprisingly had a lot going on-especially emotionally.

Olive is taking her first flight ever to race in a half marathon for her comatose brother in Disney World. She is absolutely terrified of flying but ends up needing to save someone with her nursing skills from a severe allergy attack. As she is being thanked for her service she meets the hottest pilot ever, Stella. It’s almost like insta love that they both fight, mostly from past traumatic or toxic relationships.

I loved Olive and Stella they were both so smart, lovely and funny in their own quirky way. The fake dating was pretty cute and only gave me mild anxiety 😂 Olives family and toxic ex were so horrid. I have never wanted to karate chop so many characters in their throat.

It was very cute.

Cutsie Sapphic romance. I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.

Fabulous, but intense. I loved this book! However, there is some intense content. Panic disorders, grief, family suffering from terminal health conditions, sexism. I could go on. While I did need to take breaks at times for a breath, it felt real and true. Content is warned at the beginning of the book, which I felt was a good call. Can't wait to see if Burke writes more!

I loved Fly With Me! Olive and Stella were great main characters, and I found myself loving them more and more as I read on. Fake dating is always a fun trope, and I felt Andie Burke nailed it with this one. The transition from fake dating into a real romance felt very organic and was paced really well. My only qualms were the moments of self-doubt that seemed to be a little too often, otherwise, this one was a full five stars for me.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was cute. I think it could do with a bit of editing. Also there were a lot of storylines that converged at one point and I thought “this is a lot!” I did like the two mains, Olive and Stella. Cute. Not enough flying for a book called “Fly With Me.” 😂😂

Give me a sweet spicy sapphic romance ANY DAY. Especially one where we get to go to Disneyworld, fly the not-so-friendly skies, and watch a fake dating scheme for the ages unfold. I loved Olive and Stella together, both as friends and so much more. As someone with anxiety and depression, I understand Olive's numbness in the wake of her brother's accident and the immense fear of being a burden to our loved ones. But Olive is just so deserving of love and she finally gets it with Stella. (Like seriously, Lindsay is the WOOOOOORST)

I just love watching neurodivergent people's love stories and this was no exception. And for a debut?? I'm so excited to read more from Andie Burke.

This book is such a great mix of sweet sweet moments, and serious looks at anxiety/caretaking/mental health. This one hit me hard because of my own anxiety and in the last few years caretaking of older family members has come in and out of my life, and I think Andie did an amazing job depicting it. Romances can be great getaways from "real" life, but I think that those that touch upon the struggles of real life while also giving the reader the safety of a happily ever after are so important.

The love in this story is also so fun and cute, I love Olive and Stella. Occasionally, the conflict in romance novels can make me nervous (re: my own anxiety) and nothing in this story was too over the top or nerve wracking, which I really appreciate. Fly With Me is such a beautiful little book.

This fun, fast moving romance depends upon the reader to ignore the idea that two intelligent, beautiful, successful women would be willing to play at an extended romantic ruse. The idea is that Stella, a pilot on the flight on which Olive saved a man's life, would like Olive, an ER nurse to pretend to be her fake girlfriend for career advancement, and that Olive has such poor self-esteem that she agrees to it. If you can ignore the fact that, if either of these women existed in real life, they'd probably find this premise offensive, then then this is for you. Because other than that one (rather large) issue, this is an amusing romp.

You know what I love? I love when I can't decide which of the main characters/love interests I like more. And I 100% cannot choose between Olive Murphy or Stella Soriano. Lucky for the readers, you get both of them in one book.

Olive is a nurse scared of flying, and Stella's a pilot who longs to make Captain. On Olive's first flight, she ends up having to save a man's life. This happens to be while Stella is piloting, and after helping Olive get to her final destination, Stella proposes a fake dating scenario. But the book isn't all romance! There's heavy, real-life things going on, like family with declining health (not going to give too much away, but there are moments that you are gonna feel the big sads throughout this story.) Everything feels very real and relatable, and makes you want to jump into the story and go to bat for Olive and Stella. They're just two humans who haven't learned how to stop putting other things above themselves and their desires, and that they deserve beauty and goodness. It's nice to read a story with those kinds of characters, who then in turn help each other realize that.

Also, big props to celiac/gluten intolerance rep! Did I fall a little in love with Olive when she had perfected a bunch of gluten-free foods? Maybe. Did I feel for Stella when she just didn't want to be a bother when places weren't accommodating her dietary restrictions? Absolutely.

All in all, there is a lot to love about this book! It's got sugar and spice and everything nice. (Ok, and a toxic ex, family drama, and health issues thrown in as well.) Loved.

Thanks to St. Martin's and Netgalley for the e-ARC!

A delightful and sexy queer rom! Burke's voice s engaging and compelling, and she created my favorite kind of main character--a total disaster. I love reading Olive's journey with Stella!

I was given a ARC by Netgalley and St. Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review.
.
This book was a super cute steamy sapphic novel that follows Olive, an ER nurse, and Stella, a celiac pilot! The premise of this book was so fun and I think that the word choice and setting were well done!
The book follows those two as they pretend to be fake dating in the media after Olive saves the life of a man on a plane. I loved the scrapbook of dating facts and the vibe was very similar to a queer version of the Proposal!
As a person with gluten intolerance, I also definitely appreciated the celiac rep and I've been put into some of the situations in the book where at events there's no gluten free options!
This book also does deal with dark topics and parts of the book felt very very heavy because of this (definitely see trigger warnings for this one)! Altogether I thought this was a well done debut novel and I'm very interested to see what Andie Burke has in store next!

This book wasn’t the book I was expecting in a lot of very good ways. It was heavy than I anticipated but covered difficult topics of family, religion and health beautifully.
The romance between Stella and Olive was very well paced and so fun to read about. It was the perfect amount of cheese to balance out the trickier topics in their personal lives!

This book started off strong for me but it petered out around the midpoint of the book. The chemistry between Stella and Olive was electric from the moment they met. That scene hooked me into the story and when they ran into each other later, I was excited to jump into their journey.

This book became one that had too much going on for my taste. Between Olive's family challenges, Stella's family challenges, the fake dating thing, Stella's work drama, Olive's work drama, and Olive's ex drama - it was too much. It came to a point where I kept thinking what else would happen to them.

I enjoyed Andie Burke's writing and this was an impressive debut novel. I am looking forward to future publications by them!

Are you looking for a hug your pillow, and kick your feet giggling romance that will also make you cry? Let me recommend this gorgeous romance Fly With Me by Andie Burke.

Thank you so much to @netgalley and @andiewritesandreads for the EARC!

What I loved:

🛩️ The absolute sweetness of it all. The way Olive and Stella take care of not only one another, but their loved ones was such a testament to them both not only as a couple, but as individual characters. I was hooked on Stella's kindness from her very first offer to drive Olive to her marathon.
🛩️ The very real handling of degenerative illness and end of life care was so well handled throughout this story. It is very clear to me that Burke took the time to think through every single aspect of what it means to care for a sibling or a parent in such a capacity. Olive's story with her brother and her parents continually had me teary eyed, wanting to swallow her in a hug so tight. Thank goodness Stella did it for me.
🛩️ The characters. Olive is the strongest, most anxious, absolute sweetest romantic ever and I will protect her with my life. I love the fierceness paired with the gentleness in Stella, and how Burke made her so real in it both being her best quality and also a flaw if left unmanaged. I also thoroughly appreciated that these two women are both absolute baddies in their profession. No matter what people try and bring them down a peg, they both hold so fast and it brings them together in the story.
🛩️ The chemistry in this story from texts, to Disney, to couches, to bars had me hugging my pillow and purely squealing. Seriously, the chemistry in this one is palpable.

What I disliked (but like you're supposed to):

🛩️ Olive's family. They're stupid and I hate them.
🛩️ Stella's bosses. They're also stupid and I hate them.

Check out Fly With Me out September 5th, 2023!

A nurse on her first flight ever because she’s had a lifelong fear of flying? A gorgeous co-pilot? A half marathon at Disney World? These are just some of the elements that kept me hooked from page one.

I absolutely adored reading Olive and Stella’s
love story. What a gem of a book! Andie Burke is officially my newest favorite author.

This was a really sweet romance with a nice touch of emotional drama. Sometimes the drama of the family got a little too overwhelming for me and I lost sight of the romance (and I was frustrated a lot of the time by how things worked out), but overall I would definitely recommend this.
