DNF @ 41%. Despite having great characters, the writing didn't hook me, and the romance happened too soon, which made me lose interest. I'm really sorry.

I loved this. Olive and Stella are both so likable and lovable and I’m so glad they both figured their stuff out. My heart broke for Olive and Jake. I love Derek and Esther and Stella’s dad. I hate Lindsay.

I had high hopes for this book but it ultimately fell flat for me. I didn’t feel any chemistry between Olive and Stella and the drama with Lindsay was painfully over the top. Olive’s family was the worst and they remained the worst, which I found believable and I did love the anxiety, depression, and queer representation!

Captivating from the first page, you can't help but to fall in love with Olive and Stella. Their story sucks you in and it is a constant "one more page" to discover what happens next. Life can be messy, painful, and redemptive all of which are beautifully captured in this story. Can't wait to see what Andie has up her sleeve for us next!

Fly With Me has already made my list of favorite romances for the year. Olive and Stella are perfect in how real and messy they are. The portrayal of anxiety and depression were spot on, and the novel perfectly showcased how vulnerable and terrifying it can be to be in a relationship while dealing with those illnesses. I wish that we had gotten a little more background on Stella’s childhood and past relationships to really illustrate why she behaves the way she does. Overall, this was a sweet twist on the fake dating trope. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would love a follow up in this same universe with Derek as the lead!

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an arc of this book. Below is my honest review.

Olive is a nurse who does not like flying. Actually, that is an understatement. She is terrified of flying. Alas, she is currently on her very first flight debating when to take meds to help her anxiety. And, she drops the pill. SHE DROPS HER MEDICATION. It isn’t like you can take a pill after it rolls all over the floor of a plane. To make matters worse, her brother Jake isn’t with her. She just needs to remember she is on the plane for him. And then, as the plane levels out after takeoff, the copilot asks for a medical professional. Eeep.

After saving a man’s life, the plane is diverted so paramedics can see to him. Out of the cockpit comes the most beautiful woman that Olive had ever seen, Stella.

After the diversion, Olive realizes she won’t make her half-marathon at Disney. The very half-marathon she is running for Jake. Fortunately, Pilot Stella offers to drive her so Olive can sleep on the way. Not only that, but since learning no one is there to cheer Olive on, Stella shows up at the finish line. They spend the weekend together and then Stella just leaves without giving Oliver her number. What?!?

Back in Maryland, Stella shows up at Olive’s hospital and asks Olive to be her fake girlfriend. You see, Stella wants to be promoted. If she brings Olive to three work events, considering all the publicity from Olive saving a life, their romance might just push Stella over the edge to make captain.

Will Olive agree to fake date? Will Stella be promoted? Will anyone catch feelings?

I really enjoyed this book. The trip to Disney was adorable. Olive and Stella were likable and strong main characters. The queer, anxiety, and depression representation was great. The side characters, on page and off, were wonderful too. Jake broke my heart, Derek was the best friend ever, Stella’s father was so sweet, and Esther takes the prize for best tertiary character. I hated Lindsay. I never understood her motivation. She was cruel and unnecessarily demeaned Olive about her mental health. I did NOT like Olive’s family, except for Jake. I understood their motivation but still. Not a fan.

Overall, I highly recommend this one. Very solid debut and I hope to read more books by this author in the future.

'Fly with Me' swept me away with its beautiful story about two women who are a crossroads in their lives. Olive is a nurse who is embarking on her first ever flight. She is terrified of planes, but she climbs aboard to go to a run in Disney World. She is doing the run in honor of her brother, and she finds herself using her nursing skills to save a passenger on board. Olive becomes a viral sensation, and she meets the copilot, Stella. Stella is trying to become captain, and she has put in the years of work. She keeps getting skipped over for promotions because she isn't a man. Stella is also taking care of her father who has Parkinson's Disease.

When Olive meets Stella, she feels an immediate attraction, and Stella volunteers to drive Olive to Disney World. They spend an amazing day together, and Stella asks Olive to be her fake girlfriend. Fake dating will help both women because Olive is a viral sensation from her save on the flight, and Stella hopes that the publicity will help her move up in her career.

As they spend more time together, things start to feel real and lines between friendship, fake dating, and real dating start to blur. Stella and Olive keep showing up for each other, and their story is so beautiful. I loved the connection that they had, and they were steamy together too!

Both women were going through stressful and emotional times with their families, and those parts of the story made me cry. It felt very real to think about how to handle those difficult decisions and complications with family. I loved that Olive and Stella supported each other through it all. They both had things to overcome, and they were able to find their way to each other.

I loved this book, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a sapphic romance that makes you believe in the power of love, found family, and change for the better.

Fly with Me by Andie Burke is a sweet and spicy romance about two women working through their own stuff who stumble into a fake relationship that slowly turns real. Olive Murphy is on her first-ever flight (thanks to a paralyzing fear of flying), when she has to step up and save the day after a fellow passenger has an allergic reaction. Her quick thinking leads videos of the incident to go viral, which catches the attention of her gorgeous pilot Stella Soriano. But the rescue diverts the plane meant for Orlando to Atlanta; Olive has to be in Disney World the next morning to run a half-marathon, and no way to get there. Stella steps in and the two share a magical (pun intended!) day at Disney.

A few days later, back in Maryland, Stella finds Olive and proposes a plan: Stella wants to become a captain, something that's been denied to her for years, and she thinks the airline she works for will be open to it thanks to the publicity Olive's in-flight rescue got them. Stella's idea is simple: as thanks for Stella driving Olive to Orlando overnight for her race, Olive will pretend to be Stella's girlfriend and attend three crucial work events that could land Stella the promotion she's always wanted.

The book unfolds exactly as you'd expect - Olive has a great sounding board in her best friend Derek, and Stella's dad Hector is fantastic as well. Both Olive and Stella have tough personal trauma they're working through, which also adds some tension to their relationship., But this is a romance, so there's no fear of things not turning out happily in the end.

I found some of the drama a little far-fetched, and I really hated Olive's ex-girlfriend Lindsey, who may as well have been twirling a mustache for how cartoonishly villainous she was. But Stella and Olive were fun, interesting, and thoughtful characters, and it was nice to watch them fall in love. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a life-affirming read. Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's for the ARC.

This book was a surprise hit for me since it was a classic fake dating trope. I loved the author's writing style and how genuine everything was. Her characters were flawed and worked through their personal hang ups and baggage. The way that panic attacks were described was on point and I loved the inner monologue of Olive. Normally characters come off as whiny when they share their inner thoughts but I loved everything going through Olive's mind and really connected to her as a character. If you're looking for a well written sapphic book that deals with emotional and mental struggles then you need to read this now. It's not just about the trope, it's about the journey and the lives of two women going through their personal struggles. This debut author has done a great job.

I loved this book a lot! Stella and Olive were both such great and genuine characters and I enjoyed my time with them. I loved that they were both such great people truly trying to do the right thing always. The emotional aspects with Olive's brother and Stella's dad were also woven into the story really well!

Fly With Me started off really strong with a great hook and a sometimes Too Much Disney plot line. It's sweet and a quick read. The anxiety + depression that the protagonist deals with is handled wonderfully, The frustrating reality of a family that refuses to change their ways was also well done.
