Alice and Iris are at it again. I truly enjoyed the first book in The Agathas series, and this follow-up was every bit as fun. The book opens with one of the girls' classmates being assaulted at a school function and another taking the fall. But something about the whole scene seems off to our the two teenage super sleuths.

Their suspicions lead them down a path that intertwines the current day crime to the death of a local celebrity that took place in the 1940's. Kathleen Glasgow and Liz Lawson's duel narration through both Alice and Iris' point of views kept the book moving at a pace that kept me intrigued and the ending was a satisfying one. As always, the Christie connections are fantastic, and the supporting cast of characters are delightful. I'm excited to add this one to my classroom bookshelf and anxiously awaiting the third Agathas release.

Wow! This books was fantastic. I absolutely loved The Agathas and I was really hoping that this second installment of the series was going to be good and it did not disappoint. This time, our sleuths are solving a mystery from the 1940’s so it made this story different from the first one. I love the setting of Castle Cove and the characters.

3.25/5 stars! This is the second book in the Agathas series. I've read other books by Kathleen Glasgow and found them to be overly simplified. This story held that standard. The concept of following Agatha Christie's clues to solve a murder was clever and silly, but didn't overcome the poor pacing and lack of a compelling twist. It was an adequate story younger readers may like.

I love this YA murder mystery series of sorts and I SO hope there are more Agathas books coming out!

The way that Iris and Alice have formed such an unusual but genuine friendship is so heartwarming in the midst of literal crimes occurring. Castle Cove is a wild town that has such a specific small town feeling that makes for the best setting for murder mysteries.

I think that there is a lot that these authors could do with this story and I will be not so patiently waiting for an announcement of book three.

In The Night in Question, we open with Alice and Iris at a dance at a castle filled with secret passageways and a sordid history involving the death of a young movie starlet in her prime. A history that gets even darker when one of their classmates is attacked and left for dead. When Alice tumbles out of a secret passage to find her injured classmate and another standing over her with a bloody letter opener, she thinks the worst. But soon Alice and Iris realize there may be more than meets the eye and help clear the very person Alice made a suspect.

I love, love, love seeing more YA mysteries. We have so many YA thrillers and so few classic mysteries. Those of us that grew up with The Boxcar Children and Nancy Drew need something to move onto, and this is it. Also, I cannot express how much I love the bright pink cover. The contrast of the gruesome death with the cheery, feminine cover gives me life. Overall, I enjoyed this book, perhaps even more than the first. The mystery itself is very well-crafted, involving multiple interwoven plots spanning decades. I suspected who the killer was before the end, but I hadn't quite worked out all the pieces of the puzzle.

Thanks to Delacorte Press for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another good read thanks to Netgalley! It took me a little while to finish but overall I did enjoy the book. I didn’t realize it was a series so I did miss out on some context from not having read the previous book but it wasn’t a huge problem. I would have liked more twists and turns and a more eventful ending but overall it was well written, had a solid plot and even had some funny parts throughout.

Alice and Iris are back. While they solved Brooke's murder, the unlikely duo are now helping solve the attempted murder of Rebecca Kennedy, which happened at Levy Castle during their school's Sadie Hawkins dance. This was an interesting YA mystery.

If you have read The Agathas by Kathleen Glasgow and Liz Lawson, you will love The Night In Question. Teenage sleuths Alice and Iris are again drawn into a challenging mystery. Plus, the intrepid duo is able to solve what really happened at the Levy Castle almost a century ago. With its great setting, well drawn characters, and action filled suspenseful plot, this is not only a highly entertaining book, but it would be a must see movie.
The first Agatha book was geared to older teens, but younger teens can read this one without parental concern.
I am already looking forward to the next book in the series!

This has turned into some of my favorite characters and most anticipated series and books. Follow the crew through their new mystery adventures and hope everyone makes it out alive.

I love the Agatha's series so far. In this second book in the series Alice and Iris are back at it again trying to solve the mystery of who attacked their classmate which is wrapped up in a 1940's Hollywood area mystery that has been unsolved all this time. The girls grow a lot in this book. The mystery was good and we get more of Iris's friends helping with the forensic work. I enjoy them quite a bit. I can't wait until the next book comes out.

I think i choose the wrong time to listen to this book but i did really like it!! I enjoyed the mystery and the story but i felt at times the story was harder to follow. I thought the mystery elements had more stakes to them for sure and this book had more consequences and i really liked seeing all the side characters again, def exicted to read more in this series soon!!

Even more farfetched than the first one! But entertaining and enjoyable nonetheless. I feel like Iris referring to her abusive father as "The Thing" is a bit immature and she should really be seeing a therapist. But I really liked Mona's backstory and how that unfolded, not so much the mystery in current times!

I loved this second book in the series. It still has all the mystery and thrill of the first, and it makes me even more interested in reading more Agatha Christie novels.

I loved the combination of mystery, crime, and Old Hollywood vibes portrayed throughout the story. This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed being back with the characters. I was happy to see even more character development in this one, especially with Alice. By the end of this book, I felt that Alice grew into a better friend towards Iris, given that I found her to be depicted as spoiled in the first book. I found the ending to be endearing in regards to the relationship between Alice and her mother.

While I found myself to have enjoyed The Agathas slightly more than this one, I still enjoyed the mysterious plot and LOVED all of the Agatha Christie vibes sprinkled throughout this series.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

YA mysteries and thrillers is still one of my favorite genres, and The Agathas series is one of the best I’ve read. It’s smart, sassy, and feminist. The Night in Question builds off of The Agathas, with the same cast of characters and same underlying issues, a war being waged between the haves-and-have-nots, and another (attempted) murder mystery, plus a past murder that’s the infamous local cold case. If you love YA thrillers or Veronica Mars, this series is for you.

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.

This is the sequel to The Agathas and I loved this book as much as the first.

Alice's friend Brooke was killed in The Agathas and now her friend Rebecca Kennedy was killed in this book.
But standing over the body is one of Alice's ex friends Helen Park.
Even though Alice and Helen aren't friends anymore she does not think she is a murderer and wants to get to the bottom of it.

There are many secrets in Castle Cove and Alice wants to uncover them. But she has to look at the past to find out.

I highly recommend this book.

I hope this isn't the end of Alice.

When I read the first book in this series, it was one of my favorite books of that particular year. This sequel was also great. Not as great as the first one, but still entertaining and a good escape. This series feeds my true crime obsession.

I loved all the elements of the mystery and how the group of friends works together. I love to read about and get to know all the secondary characters.
I hope there are more books in this series coming!

Awesome follow-up to The Agathas! Alice and Iris are a wonderful detecting duo, each evolving in their own way throughout this book. Their sleuthing abilities are on full display as they attempt to prove that yet another classmate isn’t responsible for a brutal attempted murder, all while learning about connections to a famous death a century before. I found the pacing to be great, the cast of characters interesting, and the overall detecting fun.

I wasn’t the greatest fan of the culprit and their motivations. I also struggled with the writing at times - things weren’t always clearly explained and I’d have to re-read or just ignore two or three times. The ending… was okay.

With all that said, this was still a great read and very satisfying for anyone who enjoyed Book 1. There’s tons of hints for a 3rd book, which I will happily pick up and enjoy as well.
