First of all, a big thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK and Elizabeth Drummond for granting me access to this advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review. I like when characters and plots get under my skin a little bit. Pippa, Wolfie, and the Squires all got under my skin more than a little bit! I don’t live in the English countryside but I did watch my fair share of Downton Abbey and I was picturing a smaller yet sort of the same manor house. Throw in the greenery maze, grand piano and a neighborhood pig, what’s not to love? Wolfie was the perfect Mr. Darcy ish character and Pippa was the right sort to balance him out. Good supporting players especially the Frankie and Theo arc. Well done !!
This book is an absolutely lovely light hearted romance and is very typically English, I loved it! Pippa finds herself completely turned upside down when her over a decade long relationship ends, and with it her job and her home. She takes a job caretaking at an old English manor that featured in her youth and growing up. Man of the manor, grumpy and standoffish Wolfie, can't find the same charms in the quaint town as Pippa can and is determined to get rid of the place. I'm sure most of us can relate to Pippa in one way or another, and her strength and dedication is admirable. Seeing Wolfie's softer side appear was delightful after cracking the grumpy exterior. Thank you to netgalley and Harper Collins UK for providing me with this copy to review.
I feel like the love story/relationship went from zero for so long to immediately 100 that it felt a little unrealistic.
cute story about pippa finding herself, and realizing she deserves SO MUCH BETTER!!! i enjoyed it. full review on instagram
The House Sitter is a story about Piper, a small town girl, and farmer, and Wolfie, the owner of the house that Piper was house-sitting.
Right off the bat I hated Alex, even in the prologue, but then it got progressively worse with each page. Wolfie was kind and everything that Alex was simply not.
However I don't feel like the main characters had chemistry like at all, for 75% of the books they did not even talk.
I did not feel this book and the chemistry was just not there.
An irresistible slice of escapism and a joy to read. Compelling, absorbing and highly entertaining. Fast-moving and fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another great romcom - enemies to lovers trope. Cute cover and fun characters, you were rooting for Wolfie and Pippa......though I disliked "Wolfie's" name....LOL Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Another amazing rom-com that has me feeling all mushy inside. I loved the concept of this one, the grumpy x sunshine was on point, but I absolutely loathe the miscommunication trope. It took a while to really get in to the good stuff, but once we were in there was no getting me to put the book down. I loved the characters (except Alex of course) and loved the small town element.
Pippa Munroe has her life upended when her partner Alex makes life changing decisions without her. Ending the relationship Pippa finds herself jobless and homeless when a position becomes available as a house sitter for the infamous Squires manor that she loved so much as a kid. Enter Wolfie Squires the owner, wanting to sell. Pippa & Wolfie are on opposite spectrums when it comes to the future of Squires, but will they find common ground?
This was confusing and poorly executed. Did not enjoy. I had high hopes based on the description but nope. The female main character was awful, and while the male lead was ok, she was just a doormat.
An enjoyable book for a Sunday afternoon. The romance didn't feel central though to the story. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
great concept that didn’t disappoint :) thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC. Highly recommended
This was such a fun, light-hearted and enjoyable read. The characters were great, though I wouldn't quite call it grumpy x sunshine as Pippa wasn't quite what I'd describe as sunshine. That being said, I loved seeing Pippa bring Wolfie's walls down. I think that would've been better shown through a dual POV narrative, but that's not to say single POV didn't work well. I thoroughly enjoyed the side characters, they're always great in a small town found family type story.
My only issue with this book was the final 10% or so. I'm all for a big romantic gesture, but I couldn't stop cringing the entire time. Parts of it felt completely out of character and I just wasn't a fan. The ultimate conclusion was perfect, but the build up to it wasn't my favourite. Aside from that, this was a great cosy romance.

Absolutely loved this book from start to finish. Elizabeth Drummond is a new author to me but I’ll definitely be looking out for her other books. This one was brilliant. I struggled to put it down when I needed to I loved it that much.
One of my very favourite romance tropes is enemies to lovers so I wasn't surprised I really enjoyed the House Sitter by Elizabeth Drummond. An old house, a cute English village and a protagonist who has had her life turned upside down meant I absolutely flew through this book. A delightful romcom to start my year!
This was a cute story that was probably more Women's Fiction than Romance. I loved the setting of the estate and the little town.
The plot just moved too slow for me. I liked Pippa and Wolfie, but for the first half of the book Wolfie isn't around very much. Of course, Pippa just coming off a breakup didn't need to find a man right away, but the journey for the two of them getting together seemed a bit off.
I think the romance took a backseat for the first half with B-plots involving the neighbors, friends and the town. Then it seemed to go too fast with a bit of Instalove in the second half.
However, I think this is a great romance for those who enjoy cozy town romances.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter for an e-copy of THE HOUSE SITTER to review.
I rate THE HOUSE SITTER three out of five stars.
First off, I love the cover of this book. It's what immediately drew me in.
The start of the book was a little too slow for me but maybe it's because I've been reading faster-paced books recently.
I really enjoyed both the main characters, especially the MMC.
Overall, a very cute and easy read. I would read another book by this author!
First of, I love the cover. It's so cute and does really represent the book. Then, the characters.. I didn't love them. Pippa was fine, of course I didn't like Alex but Wolfie also didn't do it for me (also... Who is called Wolfie?). In the end I felt like their relationship progressed so fast and didn't feel natural to me. I completely missed any kind of build up, it was mostly about her. Would have loved for het to get some character development and not need a man.. Oh well.
2.5 stars
While I enjoyed Wolfie's character, I struggled a bit with Pippa as the main female. It was an easy read, and mostly enjoyable.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. The setting was very cozy and I was rooting for Pippa to have her happily ever after. This book was a bit predictable and slow in certain spots, but overall a good read.

This was a little cliche but so cute and enjoyable. I loved the house and town and the concept of home as a person more so than a place.
Well done, Elizabeth Drummond.
