Interesting story, and hard to put down. Not sure why they state 3 ladies, as there are 4 main in the story. Liked how the women pull together for support and take a chance on life. Would recommend this one, although didn't find it hilarious either (as stated in the title). Wish more would have been said about the crappy uncle, but oh well. Would recommend.
A great story. Took a little while to get into as it was told through a few characters. Zoe’s grand mother had died and her belongs were being sold off by auction in Italy . So Zoe, her best friend , her nervous mother and an Aunt who had disappeared for 14 years all set off to Italy . They have an amazing trip. Lots of twists . Aunt Fanny was an amazing character. Money was not an issue which was good and a different ending. Really loved it by the end.
This book was tough to identify with at the beginning given how weak Ange and Zoe were. They were perfectly complacent living a life that had no action and just followed a status quo of rules and fear. Only when Fanny glittering into their lives, did it become big and they became humans rather than robots again. Just like Clarice, their lives became full of color and emotion. No one should read into omens because that often becomes the best part of the journey.
A feelgood book that's more of a focus on multigenerational bonds & female friendships than necessarily a romance. The settings in Italy are wonderful and the storyline was interesting but I just felt the romance side lacked the focus it needed (or not to be there at all) similarly with the information ongoing of Zoe's job that could have been given less wordage.
I loved reading the different perspectives of the characters and the focus on what is most important in life. I just didn't connect quite as deeply with it or laugh as much as I'd hoped.
Thank you for the advanced copy.
What a lovely read, 3 great central characters drawn together with a great storyline.
Well written, set in a beautiful place.
This was a new author to me and I look forward to reading some more from this author.

This was a lovely read with four incredibly different women who come together for a short trip to Italy after the death of a loved one. Zoe is happy enough in her life but would really love to feel able to leave her mum Angie who has not been in the best mental health since her best friend, Zoe’s Aunt Fanny, disappeared from their lives 14 years ago. Zoe’s best friend Harriet is unhappy with a lot of her life but doesn’t know what to do about it. There was a great mix of relationships in here with both friendships and tension thrown into the mix. The area of Italy they were in sounded idyllic but not short of mishap and adventure, the storyline was simple but the dynamics between the characters more than made up for that to make for a warm and uplifting read.
I loved dipping into these beautiful short stories! I’m not usually one for them, but life has been a bit crazy with unexpected medical issues ect and these were just the perfect length and time to enjoy! Will be sharing more thoughts and a full review soon, but loved each of these ladies and their journeys and could relate so much, beautifully written
THREE WOMEN. ONE SECRET. AN UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY.
Zoe always knew this day would come. After all, no one can live for ever. She may not be ready, but Zoe knows the importance of goodbye - and how much it hurts when left unsaid - so it's time to return to her grandmother's home in Italy one last time. Even if that means deceiving her mum, Ange.
Harriet doesn't know where she fits anymore. It's not in Cornwall with the new family her mum is building, and it's certainly not in the job she hates. The trip to Italy may not be the adventure Zoe and Harriet promised themselves, but Harriet is simply not being left behind.
Ange was doing fine. Well, she was coping. Like she has been for the past fourteen years because her daughter needed her. But since her mother's death, nothing has felt fine. Even her relationship with Zoe is cracking at the seams.
Then, the last person any of them expects to see suddenly turns up, and soon it seems the only way to move forward is to revisit the past . . .
