10 years ago Sadie and Shep were going to marry, but then something happened, and now they are back on an island for the marriage of Sadies sisterr.

A book full of drama and not letting somebody go. Not ready for a relationship, but also not ready for forgetting the other one.

Very cute with many reviews.
It was a pleasure to read.

Have fun reading!

Sadie and Shep have a complicated past and this story tugged at my heartstrings throughout the book. I loved the way this story came together and I couldn’t put the book down! This was the first book I’ve read by Kelsey but it won’t be the last.

This was my third Canton Sisters novel and while it wasn't my favorite of the three, I still loved it. Sadie is the famous sister. She is a novelist and the Hollywood sister. When the others look at her, everything appears perfect. She has had multiple boyfriends and fiancees. This includes Shep, who happens to be friends with Sadie's almost new brother-in-law. When all of the sisters, their families, and friends get together for a Canton wedding, Sadie comes face to face with Shep and it is not pretty.

This book follows dual timelines. We follow Shep and Sadie throughout their relationship in the past, as well how their reunion is going in the present. The bulk of the story was the past history, which would normally bother me, but there is just so much that transpired there. Humphreys tackles some big issues in this book and it was well done. I don't feel as though the sisters were as present as they were in the other two books, but I think that makes sense with how isolated Sadie made herself.

Thank you to NetGalley and Magnamour Press for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is, by far, one of my favorite Romance reads of the year and I wish it were more popular. The writing is so good, the emotions and characters so real and relatable, the story so original and poignant... really, everything a second chance Romance should be and there some. I'd put it up there with Final Offer (Lauren Asher) and Emily Henry, so big pubs, wake up, I need to see it on my International shelves. Please and thank you. :)

I read it in one sitting and though I was a bit bleary eyed and sleep deprived, I still couldn't stop thinking about it the following days.
It' s probably one of the best second chance RomComs (do we even call it romcom?) I have ever read. It's not just the story, which is really original, heartbreaking yet healing and fullfilling (spanning, what, 16 years?*clutches heart*), but the characters, the depth of their emotions, the complexity, vitality and overall realness of their hearts and stories were so well flashed out, believable and understandable. It was so easy to be swept away into it all and root for Sadie and Shep!💞 We have a great set of supporting characters and flash-backs of their story, how it all started, where it went wrong, what chances were missed and how they went to bad and good places and all those little details that made them who they are in the present and that bring them back together. It's both light and hilarious at times, but also heartbreaking at others. Everything together paints a beautiful story that I could see play like a movie. I couldn't get enough of it - and at the same time I just wanted them to be done with the tension, the angst, fix it and live happily ever after. And they do. Would I re-read this story and recommend it to my friends? You bet!!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the author for the ARC, I wouldn't have wanted to miss out.

4.5 🌟.

I haven’t been this engrossed in a book for a long while. It was un-put-downable and I loved it.

This is a angsty second chance romance spanning a 16 year or so. And it was done realistically and written absolutely fantastically.

I loved Sadie. She was strong and did stumbled a little in middle because of grief and other things but the main thing was she realised it and got up back again stronger than ever. I admire her for that.
Shep Riggs simultaneously touched my heart and made me wanna kick his butt.
I absolutely enjoyed the way Sadie behaved when they met again. That’s how I always wanted heroines to behave when they see their exes again.

My heart broke when I read their innocent shared dreams and hopes knowing nothing will go as they planned. This book isn’t just about Sadie and Shep’s romance but also about familial bonds, self growth, acceptance, achievement and healing.

Shep does have some swoony moves and I believe that they will be together for forever now. But I didn’t like one of his revelations in the last which is a spoiler. That’s why I didn’t give this 5🌟.

Overall a must read romance.
Recommended.
Safety- Both of them dated other people during separation.

I’ve loved every book in the Heartlander’s series and this one was no different! These stories are so heartwarming, funny and a light read with likable characters. It’s the perfect pick me up and escape from the chaos of every day life.

I. Ate. This. Book. Up.

Literally. Ignored my children, my responsibilities, my life.

I stumbled upon Kelsey Humphreys on NetGalley. The cover and worry description of Things I Should Have Said sold me. Then I couldn’t resist Things I Over Shared.

And now… Things I Wrote About… what a treat! I think this may have been my favorite!

Through this Heartlander series we’re getting each Canton sister’s story. At this point I feel like I personally know these five women. (Although sometimes I have to remember whose story goes with which S name).

This book gave us the story of Sadie, the singer/writer/author. We’re at Samantha’s wedding- which was a delightful follow up from the last book! Samantha’s fiancé happens to have Sadie’s first love in his bridal party. It’s been ten years since they’ve been together but their chemistry is electric- even when it’s fueled with anger at this point.

We’re taken back to the minute Sadie & Shep met, when she was in 8th grade. Throughout the book we travel with Sadie as their love story builds and then crumbles. You can not help but route for these two even as we learn of Sadie’s other boyfriends and even fiancés! There’s something so magical about first love that just makes for the best story.

We also follow Sadie as she uses alcohol (& more) as a coping mechanism. I loved this heavy piece of this book. It made it all so real. It was so hard to watch our heroine destroy herself all while wishing Shep was there to help pick up her pieces. This storyline was so raw and relatable.

This story really proves how timing is everything even though it can’t stop fate. These characters had so much growth. Also the Canton sisters dynamic and banter is *chefs kiss.*

I’ll read absolutely anything Humphrey writes and can NOT wait for Sally & Susan’s stories!! Bravo!

Sadie Canton writes America’s favourite romance novels. Yet one person and her memories of him, are holding her back. When her sister’s wedding forces her to face her past, she is determined he, Shep Riggs, will not have the upper hand. Yet he is no longer the young boy she knew, but an arrogant and attractive young man. However, what she is not prepared for is Shep’s side of the story.
There was plenty of flashbacks to Sadie and Shep’s past, with both characters giving their POV. This is more than just a simple romance, but has with it all the pain of growing up, including both loss and periods of addiction. These issues pose challenges for the characters but in turn, made their feelings all the more understandable. Life is messy but I enjoyed seeing Sadie and Shep draw closer, coming to terms with their feelings, and rising above their past hurts.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Things I Wrote About tells the story of a romance author and her childhood sweetheart meeting again at a wedding later on in life. I really enjoyed how the book was constructed - telling the story of Sadie and Shep's relationship both in the present and in the past, and how their lives developed beyond this.
Sadie and Shep were both characters, who both had their fair share of struggles. These were depicted with tact but unflinching realism. This I believe, was the highlight of the book for me - watching two characters separately fall down a rabbit hole and pull themselves out again.
I do feel like the ending was too rushed; plot points come out of nowhere in the last few pages and then are quickly brushed over to get to the end when it felt like there should have been more time dwelt on them.
Also, how many billionaires can there be in one book? It felt like every character in this story was unreasonably rich for no apparent reason other than to put the character in fancy scenarios.
Nevertheless, this was a good, light read. Perfect for a holiday or beach read.

Overall, I really enjoyed this. It’s quintessential second chance with a lot of side characters that make the universe more light and funny.

I love that Sadie is a romance author! She brings such depth to the story that I don’t think we’d have if she had any other profession. Watching her progress was romance perfection. Shep isn’t the guy she once knew and the two of them have to find themselves to hash out their past. His side of the story broke my heart a little bit, which was needed because he started off so strong.

My only issue is the pacing is a bit off since it covered so much time, but it’s still a good read and I’d read more from this author. There was also some OW/OM drama that I don’t think was necessary to the plot and made it a bit messy.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This novel is perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover and Ali Hazelwood. The twenty year love story feels fully developed and fleshed out, almost cinematic like a TV drama set over several seasons. I enjoyed the change up of having both protagonists tell their sides of the story; having a male perspective in a romance book is so unusual and I am here for it. Best friends to lovers is such an underrated trope, and if done well which in this case it is, its a trope that is just as rewarding as enemies to lovers. Kelsey Humphreys is definitely going to dominate the contemporary romance genre over the next couple years and I can't wait to see more people discussing her books!

I’ve enjoyed every book in this series, and I’m guessing I will also enjoy the next one(s?) based on the ending alone 👀

I love how the Canton sisters are so focused on each other and making sure they each know that they deserve the best. I also love how meddlesome they all can be, even without trying sometimes 😂

I don’t normally like the miscommunication trope, and I’m not sure if this quite falls into that category, but if it does it was done well and more realistically than a lot of books do! The stakes felt real even while I wanted to thunk their heads together once or twice for good measure.

Things I Wrote About is the third book in the Heartlanders series about the Canton sisters. This book focuses on Sadie, the romance writer. We learn about her history with a couple of different men, who both happen to be stuck with her on an island for a week as they all celebrate the wedding of her sister Sam (who we read about in book 2, Things I Overshared). In learning about Sadie, we go back and forth from present to various times in her past. Will she be able to keep it together, for the sake of her sister, or will her love life come to an explosive, scene-stealing head?

I jumped at the chance to read this one, because I adored Sam and Emerson's story in Overshared. This one was good, but a bit more intense and heavier than I expected after book 2. Humphreys writes what she knows, being an addict herself, so this felt like a good, very real, look at addiction, grief, and the intersection of the two. The author is also fairly religious, and as someone who is not at all, I appreciate that, while there is mention of church and God, it is not all encompassing and uncomfortable to read. There is still swearing and light spice, and I can respect the religious aspect because I don't feel like she's using it to proselytize; the book is not about religion, but religion is a part of the characters.

I did enjoy this story, but since it was a bit melancholy, I probably won't read it again until I do it as part of a series re-read when all the sisters' stories have been published.

3/5 stars! I have said it before and I'll say it again. I love a good second-chance romance. This book definitely fits in this genre. I enjoyed the book and Shep and Sadie's chemistry was great. However, this book deals with a lot of heavy topics that I wasn't prepared for and kind of took me out of the story. They were important and I appreciated them, but it felt like they were dropped into the story which I didn't like. But a quick contemporary romance.

I am absolutely loving everything I’m reading from Kelsey Humphreys - I’ve read her whole Heartlanders series (except the prequel about the parents, yet), and these books are amazing! If you haven’t read her books yet, you are totally missing out!!

Book three, Things I Wrote About follows second oldest sister Sadie Canton, the famous author in the family who runs a greeting card empire. We meet her in her younger sister’s books, but we don’t actually know anything about her… we learn so very much about her and her whole life story this time, and all of her heartbreak. This is a second chance romance for all time.

There are trigger warnings at the start that definitely need to be noted - as they are a huge part of Sadie’s story, and deal with substance abuse, and this book also really goes into the loss of their mother to a drunk driver.

Sadie’s story is told during Samantha and Emerson’s destination wedding celebrations, where her ex fiancé, and also her first love are both groomsmen (they’re all Emerson’s friends). It’s bringing back huge feelings. This story is told mostly in flashbacks, which is normally a plot device I can’t stand, but Humphreys actually did it in such a way that I loved it and it was truly the only way that this story could be told.

This book made me cry - books rarely get me overly emotional, and the ones that are too heavy don’t generally keep me invested, but this one, this one was … chef’s kiss! I 1000% recommend it for everybody, but you must read the other 2 books first, for the character background!

I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and Magnamour, and this is my honest feedback.

My eyes are blurry so this review will likely be ridiculous gibberish. I loved Things I Overshared and I love this book. But they are VERY different books. Things I Wrote About is going to make you cry, a lot. Get the tissues and Lord help you if you’re hormonal. Sadie and Shep have an epic love story and you just have to buckle up. Hug your loved ones, kiss your dreamboat, and reconsider that destination wedding you’re planning. Big thank you to NetGalley for an ARC

An easy beach read, a bit too contrived feeling for me.

Even though this book is part of a series, I did not feel left out, we meet Sade, her amazing and fun sisters, and Shep. They met in highschool and they have the cutest banter between them, they are always cracking jokes on eachother and poking fun, and clearly he likes her and she likes him but they don’t go for it yet, its something unspoken between them. Shep is the football star, with a horrible childhood and Sade and her family are amazing to him. We go back and forth between the present and past, where Shep and Sade are finally in the same place together to celebrate her sisters wedding, and I will say this, their lives up to that point was a wild ride. I was hating them for letting making themselves go through things, but then also loving them. This book made me feel all over the place with emotions, I really enjoyed this one, there is more to this series!!!! Thanks Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

“Bambi.” He pulls my face in closer to his. “I feel like I’ve just been lost and alone, wandering. Let me come home.” His sobs break through his whole body. “Let me come home.”

This is the first book I read which is written by this author and though the blurb managed to catch my attention, I did not expect much from the book but it took me by surprise! The writing style was easy to get into and so very engaging. Also, Sadie's sisters were amazing and seemed to have their own unique personalities. I loved their dynamics and I grew attached to all the characters so fast. Sadie & Shep's story had my full attention and I was immersed in it. Their story was so interesting and although at times I was furious over some instances that happened in their past, (view spoiler) I still loved the banter between them and and the chemistry was without a doubt, very sizzling! I had a great time reading this book and I would definitely continue this series! (Because there are more books coming soon 👀)
