This is a gripping domestic domestic thriller, but be warned there is physical and mental abuse. The reality that most of this book could be real made me shudder. The twist were shocking. Thank you Netgalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC in exchange for my review.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Two different women with two different stories entwine. A compelling twisty read. Recommended.
A really great domestic thriller with strong characters. I loved all the twists and it was hard for me to stop reading. If you are okay with reading about domestic abuse and violence you should definitely give this one a try!!!
Ms Shiner is one of my favorite authors, and once again she didn't disappoint! I enjoyed this book so much, just had to finish it in one sitting. A little bit of violence that might be upsetting to others, but still a great read.
This story had a great premise and it had me guessing. I thought I knew what was happening, but then something would happen and I would question myself. I enjoyed the suspense! Thank you Netgalley and Emily Shiner for the chance to read this book!
It was easy to figure out Lizzzy and Beth were the same person but I wasn’t sure how this connected to the cabin.
I so wanted to enjoy this book. The synopsis was interesting, had the right number of characters. Unfortunately, the story just didn't come together. Suspension of disbelief is warranted and if the story hinted at such, I would have liked and rated it a little higher. I just couldn't wait to finish. I'm sure there's a target audience for this book. Unfortunately, I'm not part of that audience.

Thankyou to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this ARC.
This is my first title from this author, i really enjoyed and will be reading more from them in the future.
This book was a book that i could not put down, i found myself glued to the Kindle with this book and i would recommend to others.
This book had suspense and mystery and a plot twist that i did not see coming.
I thought i knew was happening but i did not.
Thankyou again
5/5 stars
This story blew me away…it took a while to make the connections, but it was excellent. The stress of abuse can make people do a lot of terrible things to get free. I’d like to read more of this author.
This is the first book I have read of Emily Shiner and I love her writing style. From the start each scene was well described and easily imaginable by the reader.
The chapters alternated between two perspectives Beth (who was being watched in an isolated cabin) and Lizzy (who was held captive by her abusive husband). Both storylines had great potential but I struggled to see how the two characters related and it very much felt like I was reading two separate books.
The character link was revealed rather late in the story (around the 75% mark) and had the correlation clicked beforehand perhaps I would have enjoyed the book more.
Great storyline and potential however I just didn’t feel connected to the characters. Nevertheless this was a good quick read and I would purchase more from Emily Shiner.
This was a very riveting book. I really enjoyed the characters and storyline. Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this advanced copy. Looking forward to more from this author
Absolutely amazing read, I could not put it down once I started it. I had so many strong emotions for the main character and just when I thought I knew how everything was going to turn out, PLOT TWIST. An ending I did not see coming.
Great twist and plot line. Kept me flipping the pages right to the end. I really enjoyed this fast paced book and the duel perspectives. I felt the tension building as I read and the ending got me. I could not put the book down!
Loved this book!!! It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! And what an ending!!!! I'm off to find my next book by Emily Shiner !!!
This was so thrilling! And almost fun? Hahaha can I say that? I highly recommend this book for lovers of gritty thrillers with unreliable characters.
You Can't Hide kept me up late at night and pretty much checked all my fear boxes: Narcissism, stalking, remote locations, and psychopathy. The story jumps back and forth between Lizzy and Beth, who both find themselves in dangerous situations. Lizzy, in her own home with her husband who is a successful surgeon, and Beth, in a remote cabin in the mountains where she and her husband are preparing the property to sell so they can afford IVF treatments. This is a very tense read throughout the entire read.
This book had my attention immediately and kept it all the way through. It alternates between two perspectives, each of them always ending on a cliffhanger. The tension built and did not disappoint. I devoured this book in two sittings easily.
Not really sure how I felt about this book. It seemed like two different stories until the last 1\4 or so of the story. I knew somehow they would tie together, which they did at that point. The ending seemed somewhat rushed to me after that. I almost stopped reading and gave up part way thru the book but I wanted to see how it ended and the stories went together.
Wow! This book was pretty good. The story is told from two points of view Lizzy and Beth - I couldn't put it down and still am thinking about this book! Thank you Netgalley for a copy for an honest review.
Beth thought she’d escaped her past. But all this time, it’s been waiting for her…
Beth and Ian are desperate to have a child. So much so that they decide to sell his family cabin in upstate New York to pay for IVF.
When they arrive at the cabin, they meet Ryan, the caretaker. But Ryan is not who he says he is… He’s here because he knows Beth has a dark secret. And now he intends to use it against her.
He threatens to tell Ian everything about Beth's past unless she does exactly what he says.
Beth finds herself caught in a nightmarish trap. If Ian discovers what she’s been hiding from him, she’s sure he’ll leave her. She’ll lose everything she cares about, including the chance to have a child of her own.
On the other hand, what Ryan wants her to do is so dark and twisted it’s beyond horrifying.
Either way, Beth is sure her life is over, she can see no way out. Unless… Unless she digs deep and finds a part of herself that is willing to do something so awful it doesn’t even bear thinking about..
This was perfectly done. Great plotline, great character growth, and just that damn good. Will recommend this story to others.
