A really sweet book for parents to read to their kids. Great promises are made in this book. So sweet!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a wonderful book. And I loved the illustrations!
Very cute and readable by a 1st grader. My daughter enjoyed reading this to me and comparing her life with the book. It brought a lot of sweet conversation between me and my daughter.
My kid loves animals and now I understand why most kids books have animals in the stories, coz they make the books more enjoyable and more endearing experience.
The illustrations here are simple and pretty and cute. They feel like done by crayons which make it even more wonderful. The prose is simple and rhythmic and easy to understand.
Definitely a good read for young kids.
Thank you Netgalley and Marianne Richmond and sourcebook kids for the wonderful ARC.
Perfectly pitched, rhymed, and drawn, this is a letter and promise from a parent to a child, offering space to make mistakes and all that is needed to overcome them, and so much else. Bursting with sentiment, the cutesiness of it all may take this into overload for some, but I loved it, as a simple testimony to recite and share.
I Promise You All Ways is a sweet children’s book with a rhythmic story about being there for our little ones whenever we can. The illustrations in this book are amazing and add so much to the story. I read this with my three year old and he loved the animals, guessing what kind they were every time we flipped the page. The story flowed really well at the beginning, but I kept stumbling over some of the words toward the end. Overall this was an enjoyable read with great illustrations that I look forward to continuing to share with my kids.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a review copy of this book!
I am absolutely in love with this story. What a wonderful pull at your heartstrings, heartwarming and amazing feeling kind of story. I can’t get enough of it. This story tells the child all about the love and promises from their parents (or whoever they may have in their little life). It is full of all the promises we make to our little ones that we promise for their life. The promise of always being there. THe promises of stories and cuddles, of all the different ups and downs in life and most of all the promise of listening and Love.
This was a well written story with text that just seemed to flow and move you. The heartwarming, adorable illustrations match perfectly to this story about our love for our little ones. You have to discover for yourself as a family!
I received this story as an ARC but I will definitely be buying this for my littles and even for the ones who are grown. It will be a treasure to share for sure.
I'm going to start with some honesty by saying I wish this book existed while my parents were raising me. That being said, I hope every parent gets to read this one with their child and cherishes this book.
Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Kids / Sourcebooks Jabberwocky and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
A gorgeous picture book on a parents love to their child and the promises they make to them for their life.
This was adorable from the precious illustrations to the beautiful wording chosen, this is such a sweet book. This book captures perfectly what a parents love is like with their child, how they will ensure that their child will have everything they need to grow up and how it is unending love.
It’s a perfect book for parents to read with their children before bedtime, it is really sweet and simple but utterly lovely. The illustrations work so beautifully with everything written and it shows so many different precious animals families.
Marianne Richmond’s latest, I Promise You All Ways, is a storybook of gentle rhymes assuring a guardian’s love for their little one. While my youngest was thoroughly enamored with Dubravka Kolanovic’s joyful illustrations, I was pleasantly surprised by the simplicity of the verses — perfect for even the youngest reader to comprehend.
Combined, the elements deliver the perfect book to keep at a child’s bedside for nightly reading.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebook Kids for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a very heartfelt book for a loved one to give to a child as a gift. I feel like this book would help a child know how much their guardian loves them.
A sweet little story that reinforces how parents will always be there for you. For every emotion you’re feeling, parents are ready to help you through it by explaining or just for comfort, whatever the child needs in that moment. Cute illustration and loved the message behind it!
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review!

First: The illustrations are lovely. I like the muted color palette. I found them calming with sincerity. My thought was if a child was having a bad day, these colors and simple designs at first glance are like a deep breath. It's going to be okay.
Second: The story part didn't work for me. As I was reading I felt like I was making up as I went what I wanted to say.
The two parts didn't mesh.
I would have a difficult time reading and engaging a child with this story without being familiar with it. I wouldn't leave this out for the babysitter.
I Promise You Always is a really heartwarming and adorable book. My toddler really enjoyed reading with me and stayed engaged throughout. The illustrations are sweet and the colors soothing. Highly recommend this sweet book for young children.
I loved reading this book. Marianne Richmond’s other books are such big hits in our household, and much like them, this is a great staple for any library.
This book is heartwarming for both parents and children alike. I also think that it’s a great way to introduce the idea of promises. It so perfectly talks about all the ways parents support, encourage, and listen. It’s so sweet, and the illustrations are adorable too.
Thank you SourceBooks Kids and NetGalley for the ARC.
I promise you, that “I Promise You Always” is a must-read and a must-have in your child’s library. It is the sweetest story to show that you will be there to help them through the ups and downs of life. This book is going to be my new go-to book for baby showers.
Thank you, Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Kids, for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
