This is a cute little book about differences and how everyone has something special about them that makes them unique.

This is a cute little book about differences and the watercolor illustrations are adorable.

Beyond that, this book doesn’t flow as well as I’d like it too. The message is clear - what one person likes, another may not. It’s a great way to show kids that just because they may like something, doesn’t mean everyone else will too, and that’s ok. It falls a little flat in capturing my younger children’s attention (4 & 6).

Whimsical illustrations that I hardly noticed.

I enjoyed the story and was engrossed. I thought the author did a nice job with examples of how it's okay to have different opinions. Additionally, there are parenting tips at the back of the book showing things to point out.

This is an interactive book.

how beautiful it is, even as an adult, to be reminded that we're all so different and that is what makes us beautiful and unique...little kids discovering this book will learn the beauty of difference and that's wonderful.

“If we were all the same, You and Me, how boring would that be?”

An educational children’s picture book explains how we are different and that this differences are not only OK but also important for a colorful and not-so-boring life.

I had problem with some of the children’s reactions to what the don’t like such as “i spit them out” for food we don’t enjoy and “those smell icky” for smells we dislike. I think this isn’t proper nor polite way to react and kids may be influenced by it.

Otherwise pretty good book and easy for kids to understand and enjoy!

3/5 from an adult perspective.
4/5 from a child perspective.

You and Me by Caley Nunnally is a wonderful picturebook that uses the senses to encourage readers to embrace diversity. Through seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and smelling, Nunnally draws attention to the range of thoughts, feelings and opinions individuals may have, and validates those differences.

Nunnally's empowering book celebrates the little things that set us apart – from appearances to interests – and teaches children the many ways we express our thoughts through body language. With adorable illustrations on every page, a "squelch!" here and a "splash!" there, You and Me is entertaining, engaging and educational, all whilst promoting a powerful message about the importance of individuality.

Featuring a page of talking points at the end, this book is the perfect way to start conversations about diversity and accepting others, or about ways of identifying and regulating your emotions. This is the ideal book for young readers just starting to read by themselves and even more fun for those with the opportunity to read with an adult.

You and Me is a sweet book highlighting the different ways individuals experience the world. It got both my children talking about how they each have different opinions about experiences and how sometimes they like the same things. Everyone is different and acceptance is important. Beautiful illustrations and my kids liked it enough to read it again. Thanks to Netgalley and Ninewise Publishing for the ARC of this book.

Wonderful story explaining how were are all similar but our differences are what makes us interesting. Otherwise "how boring would it be?" This book teaches kids how to be observant of their own senses such as sight, sound, touch, scent, and feel and determine what they like or don't like. At the same time looking at others and observing that other kids may not like how things looks, sound, touch, smell and feel - and realize that it is ok.

Teaching self-awareness and awareness of others is perfect for young children and early school age children, but often hard to do. This book starts to explore that subject and can help open a dialogue with your child about this as well. At the end of the story is a page dedicated to "Learning/Teaching Perspective Taking" that helps guide your discussion.

I think this book is not only helpful at home but also in classrooms, or therapy sessions.

A wonderful book that celebrates our uniqueness, individuality and what makes us different. Despite being a quick read, it has diverse representation and a meaningful message. I also loved the art style and the mouse. However, I wish there were more examples beyond the basic. Still, this is a book that should be in every classroom, library and kid's shelf!

Lovely book, written to be accessible to the smallest of children yet in such a way that it’s still relevant to be shared with upper primary aged children. Fabulous for opening conversations about similarities and differences and encouraging acceptance of these.

I really liked the concept of this book and the idea that if we were all the same how boring would that be? I do wish there was more rhyming to make it more catchy but the images are colourful and have plenty of talking points.

I just read You and Me by Caley Nunnally and found it to be a great book for children ages 3 and up. Colorful illustrations and easy to read and understand.

This Author clearly knows how to entertain children and I highly recommend this book.

Overall, I like the message that the author was trying to convey. That each child should embrace their differences as that is what makes society so special. I’m unsure if I liked how she kept describing it as “boring” if we were all the same. I’d be worried if two kids both liked the same thing that could be seen as boring.

The illustrations were fantastic.

I absolutely loved this book! I love that the focus is inclusivity. This focus is so important to teach at a young age. I also loved the tips at the end. The illustrations were great as well.

This book is an excellent book for any parent to a young child! It is never always easy to explain what isn't obvious to young children- how we each perceive the world differently. I love how this book explains different perspectives in the most concrete way possible. 5/5 would recommend!

This book is full of insight perfect for both children AND adults! I enjoyed how each of the senses were highlighted to show how we all experience the world differently. Our sensory preferences are neither good nor bad.. they are just a part of us! I would definitely read this book with my preschool aged son and ask him about his own sensory preferences as we read through the book. Would recommend!

'If everything looked the same to you and me, how boring would that be?'

You and Me, by Caley Nunnally is a book with a beautiful sentiment worth sharing with young children and families. It begins by drawing attention to all of our physical features that we have in common but how these are different for each and every one of us. The book then moves to our behaviours that may be similar and different to each other, such as liking or not liking dogs. This then leads to other sensory differences we can have, and begins a highly appropriate exploration of how some of us hear, smell, taste and touch differently to others. This is a valuable story for young children to begin understanding the differences that may be less obvious at first and hopefully will encourage discussion and understanding of our differing sensory needs.

This book is all about our differences, which I think is excellent. There's so much focus today on making everyone the same that this book is much needed. It went in a different direction than I expected, but I think it's important nonetheless. However, the illustrations were not my favorite. One page in particular had me making a face. But otherwise, this was good.
