This was a great conclusion to the Iron Fey books, a series I've loved for almost 10 years. It was really nice having Meghan's POV again, which we haven't had since the original Iron Fey series. I think this brought the arc of the series full circle really nicely. The plot was fairly predictable since the trilogy has been leading up to the group's conflict with the Nightmare King since the beginning of The Iron Raven, but I still really enjoyed their trek through Evenfall and encounters with some really creepy creatures.
I laughed. I cried. I fell into bliss.
This Iron Fey series was one of my first YA fantasy series I’ve ever read. I fell in love with these characters from the very first page. I couldn’t put them down and I read each new spin off book as soon as I could.
This is all very bittersweet to see it come to a close. This was one roller coaster ride that I never wanted to get off. But I am so thankful I got the chance to ride in the first place.
I read an ARC and my honest opinion is that if you’re looking for a fun true YA series, look no further then these books. You can thank me later.
Thanks to NetGalley and Inkyard Press for an arc of this book. Below is my honest review.
This is the third book in a trilogy. I highly recommend reading the first two as well as The Iron Fey series before beginning Iron Vow. You will enjoy this book much more if you have read those first.
Iron Vow starts off with a summary of the previous books which ends where Iron Sword left off. (Thank you! I love a brief synopsis. It was just enough to spark memories.) Our intrepid heroes (Meghan, Ash, Puck, Grim, Kieran, and Nyx) are in Evenfall, a land without magic. They are beaten and bruised. They have very little, if any, magic and glamour left. And, they can’t go back home to Nevernever without waking the nightmare king. Things … could be better. Will they make it through? What will happen to the fae of Evenfall?
In this final book of an epic series, our favorites are definitely still our favorites. Puck still has great one-liners. Grim still vanishes before a fight. There were wonderful interludes giving much appreciated back stories. There are new characters, new worlds, battles, and, in my humble opinion, a very satisfying conclusion to the series. Highly recommend!
I absolutely love this series. I don’t usually read young adult books because I prefer new adult but these are the exception. They hold my attention from start to finish and I absolutely love them. 5/5
Without much spoiling, there is nothing Kagawa could do wrong with this series it seems. Book after books just keeps getting better. I loved The Iron Vow.
I love Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey. The half fairy tail aspect makes a great plot, love all the crazy plot twists and magics.
This was such a great read! I absolutely loved this story and characters which is why I flew through this book. The plot was exciting and full of twists and turns. I will be recommending this book to everyone I know.
This was a really fun and bingable conclusion to this series!
I enjoyed another book of Meghan, Ash, Puck and the gang and their exciting adventures and tribulations. Meghan is such a tough, persevering leading character and it was fun to revisit this world.
The book is fast paced, well-written and heart-felt. I have been a fan of Kagawa's for a while now and am so glad I was able to snag this ARC and read it before its release.
TYSM for the opportunity to be an ARC reader.
