This book was fun and exciting! I definitely would recommend this book to all who wants a thrilling novel! It kept me on my toes and wanting more! I loved the storyline and the dual timelines!
Kate White's latest novel, "Between Two Strangers" just might be her best to date. Wonderful and suspenseful.
Skyler Moore is hoping that the upcoming gallery show of her creative, colorful collages will finally cement her reputation as an artist. Twelve years ago, she dropped out of grad school after a personal tragedy. It took her over a year to return to her art and she has struggled since. Now, days before her show, a lawyer contacts her to inform her that’s she is the beneficiary of a substantial, life changing trust. It was left to her by Christopher Whaley, a man she is sure she never met. When she finally remembers the circumstances that brought them together, she realizes that she met him on the worst weekend of her life, the weekend that caused her to quit school and temporarily abandon her career. What a coincidence! Or not…
If you are looking for a deftly plotted thriller with a strong female character and a mystery that you can’t quite solve, Between Two Strangers is the book for you. Kate White excels at creating suspenseful, twisty reads. 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Perennial and Paperbacks and Kate White for this ARC.
Skylar Moore is unexpectedly named in a stranger's Trust. Does it have to do with her art? Or atragedy from long ago?
A solid thriller with unexpected twists and a satisfying ending.

Kate White delivers another good mystery title. Artist Skylar Moore is unexpectedly named in a stranger's Trust. Does it have to do with her art? A tragedy from long ago? A quick and satisfying read.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Between Two Strangers.
I've read previous novels by the author and enjoyed them, but that was quite some time ago.
The premise of this was interesting so I was pleased my request was approved.
Sadly, Between Two Strangers didn't meet my expectations.
The writing was fine, but the narrative was dull, repetitive, and neither suspenseful or thrilling.
I don't believe in coincidence in real life and definitely not in books, and the narrative relied too heavily on this quirk.
The link between Skyler and CJ was ridiculous and beyond the realm of belief and straight into disbelief, as if the reason for his bequest.
Also, I wasn't a fan of Skyler; I didn't dislike her, but I wouldn't want to hang out with her. I liked that she was an artist by profession, but her boring personality didn't endear me to her.
That's not the character's fault, it's the author's.
I really wanted to like this more but other readers might enjoy it more than I did.
This is the exact type of thriller that I would recommend to all those that enjoy a tightly woven plot with some red herrings thrown in! Kate White does it again!
Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
Skyler is an artist in NYC, still struggling with the death of her sister 12 years prior. She's totally blind sided when she receives notice that she's inherited money from a long away one night stand. Why did he leave the money? And who is now stalking Skyler, and what do they want? I enjoyed this thriller, but I did feel like I wanted more. Like it was a little too short. But I felt like the stalker parts were depicted realistically, and I liked her friendship with the law student across the hall. This was a great read for a winter night. Thanks to Netgalley for a free copy in exchange for an unbiased review.
I’m a big fan of White’s books, especially the Bailey Weggins series, so I was delighted to read this newest standalone novel. I found it a page turner, but I felt that the plot just didn’t hold together. Skyler Moore receives a mysterious inheritance and the rest of the book is devoted to trying to figure out why this large amount was left to her. The reliance on coincidence was too contrived for me.
When I pulled all the threads together, I realized that the plot really makes no sense and the ending is downright absurd. Skylar talks speaks about her desire for a child, but that is dropped by the author’s desire to end the book. This would have been an opportunity for an epilogue., but there is none.
Thank you Netgalley for this novel by one of my favorite writers. I look forward to more.
