I read the synopsis and was excited to read the story. I’m a huge sucker for reading Scottish Historical romance novels. I started off reading the story and Sophia and Hope gave me all the good feelings for the book until the second page. The story seems so choppy. I tried continuing with the book and it was so hard. I couldn’t connect or concentrate on the story. It could be that I just finished a Kimberly Cates book and it was from to transition from her writing.

This is the fourth addition to the Lord of All Seasons series. I have been enjoying the series so far, and this latest installment was no different. Sophia is the last of her sisters to wed, but she likes her independence and has no desire to wed. She is perfectly happy with just her horses. Devon, the Duke of Farnshire, lives his life how he wants, but when he is unexpectedly left with the responsibility of caring for his niece and nephew, he's not so sure of himself anymore. Then he meets Sophia at a house party and is utterly charmed by her. She is also good with the children, and Devon is convinced Sophia would be the perfect duchess for him. Sophia has no desire to marry and wishes to remain single. But the tension between them is strong and Devon is determined to change her mind.
This was a lovely story with charming characters and I was completely drawn in. A well-written story that I am glad to have had the opportunity to read.

A Winter Wedding by Nadine Millard was a delightful book. For some reason I totally connected with this story and loved every moment of it. Devon Blake, Duke of Farnshire, has arrived at Heywood Manor to spend some time with his friend, Adam Fairchild. He has brought with him his small wards, a niece, Heather, and nephew, Finn, children of his late sister. Adam’s wife, Francesca, was huge with child, and her sister, Sophia was present, to round out the holiday. Sophia was a revelation: she loved horses as much as he did and she connected immediately with his children. She knew how to have fun, and she included him in the fun she arranged for the children. She was helpful when they discovered the nanny passed put drunk, after having struck Finn. She handled it better than he would have. He saw the many reasons she would make a wonderful wife. She didn’t agree, but did agree to give him three weeks to convince her.

These are two really fun characters. Millard has really nailed them, as well as having done a credible job on all of the extended family, once they arrive. It was a simple plot but was handled beautifully and drew the reader (me) in completely. It was a wonderful romance, once it got off the ground and watching them parry made me laugh. You go, girl!

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of A Winter Wedding by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Dragonblade #NadineMillard #AWinterWedding

A Delightful Historical Romance

This is a lovely romance, with laugh-out-loud moments. I fell in love with Sophia and Devon. The way Sophia took care of Devon’s niece and nephew was heartwarming. Devon thought Sophia would be an ideal wife to take care of his wards, but was were all there was to it, or did she capture his heart? Sophia did not care about people. Horses were her friends, but then, Devon and his wards came into her life and turned her world upside down. Could she leave the idea of spinsterhood behind? This romance is charming and heartwarming. It put a smile on my face.

The responsibility of taking care of his niece and nephew has Devon Blake, the Duke of Farnshire, looking for a wife. Spending Christmastide at Heywood Manor with his friend Adam Fairchild and his family, may be the opportunity to find what he's looking for.
Sophia Templeworth is more interested in horses than a husband. Staying with Adam and her sister, Francesca, at Heywood Manor, gives her some freedom away from her matchmaking mother. Surprisingly, her eyes are not just on the horse ridden by the duke, but the duke himself when he arrives at Heywood. A tempestuous relationship develops between Sophia and Devon and leaves Devon, more often than not, in hot water with the lady he wants as his duchess. An interfering family doesn't help! Will Devon ever get it right? A lot of steam with a little laugh out loud.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Nadine Millard has absolutely charmed and blown me away with this series! I have adored watching each one of the Templeworth Daughter's fall head over heels in love while bringing their heroes to their knees! Millard has created such a beautiful group of sisters, that always have each other's backs, and willing to play out any scheme in the name of what that sister wants and needs. Millard's writing easily draws the reader in, has a comforting and clear tone, and works to balance humor and heart that gives the plot and characters relatable moments and growth. I have also found Millard's characters to be wonderfully dimensional and understandable on a base human level which makes these quick reads easy to get into and creates the perfect endearing connection as the story unfolds and journeys towards the HEA.

This story is the youngest Templeworth sister's romance, and it is so much fun to watch the inner push and pull this heroine goes through in order to accept the love that is growing with in her. Sophia is bold and brash in moments, she loves her horses, and she dreams of her own independence sans a husband. Devon is a duke, and can come across as proper and stoic, but when he becomes the guardian to his nephew and niece he wants to learn how to be open to them and provide them with the people they need to support them in their growth and development. I adore the small moments and gestures that Sophia does to show Devon's charges that they are loved. I love the subtle way that Sophia is able to pull Devon out of his shell and gently guide him in ways to show his love and support. Millard beautifully builds a level of chemistry and tension between Sophia and Devon which bubbles deliciously under the surface. I really enjoyed the tension of a potential forced marriage that Sophia has to work through in her minds, and Devon has to learn he must show Sophia why a marriage between them would be pleasant. This novel, while low on the physical side of intimacy, has such strength in the growth of the romantic side of Devon and Sophia's feelings that I did not need to have lots of steamy scenes to believe and root for their growing affection. Millard has a wonderful way of building up the understanding of their love in subtle ways that pay out in the small moments and interactions they have not only with each other but the characters around them. I adored Devon and Sophia together. I know that Sophia was stubborn more often than not, but watching the patience and dedication that Devon has towards her, really shows the strength of his feelings. This novel also has some really beautiful care taking scenes which are always favorites of mine in romance novels!

I would very highly recommend this novel by Nadine Millard. I would very highly recommend this series, and while they each can be read as a stand alone, I adored reading them in order and watch these sisters find their happily ever afters!

The last of the sisters is the fiesties, fiercest, and not the first to fight falling for her perfect man. A wonderful tale of a head strong women who knows what she wants and it not 2 legged!
Smart enough to know when to keep his mouth shut and when to speak up only when he is around her his foot goes straight to his mouth.
Enjoyed this one just as much as the first only you dont need to read previous books. Also there are a few steamy scenes that if your inclined you can skip.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book.

Entertaining and witty, I loved this final book in the series as marriage-shy Sophia comes face to face with the Duke of Farnshire and his wards. It is well-known that in spite of her beauty and marriageability, Sophia only has eyes for the four-legged equine species of males. Even though the Duke owns a magnificent stallion that he cautiously allows her to ride and has cute little wards who capture her heart, she fights tooth and nail to avoid being with Devon and goes to extreme lengths to escape her sisters' manipulation. Whilst her sisters are not helping her case, nevertheless, when pressure is brought to bear on Sophia they stand firmly at her side and will thwart any and all demands being put on her. It takes something of a disaster for both Devon and Sophia to finally admit the truth of the matter and the novel does come to a lovely conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I have laughed and cried through the series A Lord for All Seasons and will miss the Templeworth girls! Sophia is possibly the most stubborn of the girls, but, also, the most loveable. She and Devon are in love before they even realize it, possibly from their first dance! Sophia falls in love with his sweet wards just as quickly as she falls for Devon. Their HEA is, of course, held up by their pride before they both share their hearts. It took a bit of a tragedy to help them open up to the other with their true feelings. You will love the very short journey through their romance!

Allow me to say the sex scenes are not needed. Ms. Millard’s romances are so well-written, she does not need to have the requisite sex. Additionally, having her siblings and spouses, and the girls mother, join them for the culmination to the series was sweet!

This is the fourth book in the series but sadly I missed out on reading them, I will have to go back and catch up now. I loved this story. I found it hard to put down. The characters were well-written and a lot of fun and the story flowed beautifully. There were a few mild sex scenes that this reviewer skipped but they didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book. I received this as an ARC and freely give my review.

This book is the last in a series, but can easily be read as a standalone. It was my first work by Nadine Millard, and I enjoyed it. Sophia and Devon’s journey to happily ever after was a pleasure to read, and it left me wanting to read the previous books in the series.

I looked forward to this one as we could see things building between Sophie and Devon throughout her sister's books. This was a fun read with Sophie always stealing horses to try out for herself. It is a well written and evenly paced book that I thoroughly enjoyed. A nice ending to the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

As the youngest of the notorious Templeworth girls, Sophia is determined to be the last of her sisters to remain unwed and unburdened by the shackles of marriage. She has her horses & is happy with them. Devon Blake, the Duke of Farnshire, is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it. But when Fate lands him with his late sister’s orphaned children he has absolutely no idea what to do with Finn & Heather, he’s rattled for the first time in his life. Then Devon is invited to his good friend Adam's for the festive season & he meets Sophia, who immediately not only charms the children but Devon too. However Sophia is determined to remain single, and Devon is determined to make her his duchess, one of them will have to cave.
The fourth & final story in this lovely series, it could easily be read on its own but the Templeworth sisters are a revelation so I’d highly recommend reading in order. I’ve loved horse mad Sophia throughout the series & it was lovely to see her all grown up but still horse mad. I also loved Devon. Their attraction is immediate but they try to fight it, when they are caught together Adam gives them time to realise their feelings. However each time they try to find time to talk they are interrupted by a family member. I loved this well written, well paced book & thoroughly enjoyed Devon & Sophia’s journey to a HEA, also the lovely epilogue rounded off the series beautifully
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Sophia is the last of the Templeworth sisters, and was very young in the first book in this series. Now in book 4, we get her story.

Sophia still prefers horses to people, and spends much of her time at her sister's houses - avoiding her mother who is now (somewhat inexplicably given all her connections and the fact she is something of a grasping snob!) trying to marry her off to the pig farmer who pops up in each book.

At Cheska's House she meet Devon, Duke of Farnshire, who she had previously danced one dance with at her sisters wedding and promptly found it all a bit much and vanished to the stables...

They reconnect over Christmas and when he sees how kind and motherly Sophia is with his two young wards, he hatches a plan to make her a Duchess / put her in charge of the children!

Sophia has other ideas and the book takes us through Devon coming up with a few better reasons for them to marry than Sophia's governessing skills.

I enjoyed this book and this series. It didn't take itself too seriously and I found the characters fun - it's unashamedly daft and I like that!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

Sophie Templeton may be the last unwed sister, but she is in no hurry to change that. Her sisters are sickeningly happy in love with their titled husbands, but other than them, she's never found a person she wants to spend time with. No, Sophia is more happy to spend time in the stables, but Devon Blake, the Duke of Farnshire, and his young niece and nephew may be the ones to make her reconsider. The first they met Devon was intrigued with Sophia, but he soon had his sister's orphaned children to care for. Now in company again for Christmas, he sees that Heather and Finn need a mother, and that Sophia will be perfect. But can he convince her of that?

I was expecting Sophia's book to be something, and this was definitely right. Sophia was happy for her sisters, and loved spending time at their homes - mainly to be away from her mother and her plans to marry Sophia off - but no one had ever caught her fancy like Devon had. She cares for him, but fights the attraction. Seeing Sophia turn all mama bear over the children when their nanny is abusive was perfect for her, and I loved that she took them into her heart immediately. Though their relationship wasn't the simplest, it was right for Sophia and Devon, and a great way to end the series!
