This is the first book I've read by this author & I must say it won't be my last. This story was intriguing & I couldn't put it down! Such a great read!
I have enjoyed the author's police procedural series so I was excited to read this standalone. This is a story full of twists, secrets and small town drama that I always enjoyed. I like how well the characters were developed. A couple were quite unlikeable but this added to the intrigue of the story.
This was a captivating read that had me at the edge of my seat until the last page.
Sadly this book was not for me. I'm a huge fan of Wendy's Detective Maddison Harper series so I was excited to read this one. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me.
I couldn't work out why Nicole was adamant her parents killed her friend. Why did she think her parents have something to do with her little sister being missing. It just didn't make sense for me. I also couldn't work out why she thinks her dad had impregnated her sister either. Nicole didn't seem to use any common sense she just jumped to assumptions with no proof and not logic.
I pushed through most of this book but I did DNF.
This is a heart-pounding novel that will captivate readers from start to finish. The author skillfully crafts a suspenseful narrative filled with unexpected twists and turns, ensuring an enthralling reading experience.
The story introduces readers to a diverse cast of characters, each with their own motivations and secrets. As the plot unfolds, their lives become intertwined in a high-stakes game of danger and deceit. The author expertly maintains a sense of suspense throughout the book, keeping readers guessing and eagerly turning the pages to uncover the truth.
One of the book's greatest strengths lies in its ability to create a palpable atmosphere of tension and unease. The author's vivid descriptions and attention to detail transport readers into the world of the story, making them feel as if they are right alongside the characters, experiencing the thrilling events firsthand.
There were parts that didn't feel true. I also felt the middle of the book dragged out a bit. It also could have been doing with an epilogue to give us a little more closure.
A fantastic read, so many twists and turns I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. There was so much suspense filled in the pages and so many questions you desperately want the answers to, it all builds up to an epic ending with the tension literally leaving your body as you turn the last page.
A title thats been used so many times before and yet grups you firmly. The prologue steers you in a solid direction and then bam all bets are off. Told from the main character's point of view the story focuses on two disappearances from different times linked to all the chatscters in the story
All the characters are well written and you feel the emotions through good writing. Ther are many twista and turns. It hooked me from page 1.
Thank you netgallery for my arc

Oh wow. This book is amazing. There's so many twists it should come with a whiplash warning! I was absolutely convinced I knew what had happened. I was absolutely wrong.
When Nicole answers the phone one evening it's the last person she thought would contact her. Her Mother. And what she says chills Nicole to the bone. "Your sister is missing."
Can Nicole face up to the past and make sure the truth finally comes out?
This is a brilliant thriller that kept me hooked start to finish. I will happily recommend this book to all my bookish friends.

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and Wendy Drainfield for a copy of this ARC in return for an honest opinion.
All I can say is WOW. Wendy Dranfield is a master of suspense. This is the 4th book of hers that I have read and every single one of them has taken me on a wild ride.
This story follows Nicole, who returns home for the first time in 12 years because her little sister is missing. Now she has to face the secrets she was running from 12 years ago and try to find her little sister at the same time.
This was an adventure. It was full of twists, several of which I didn’t see coming. The way everything came together at the end to explain the series of events that led up to what happened made for an amazing and suspenseful story.
I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. Definitely a 5 star read.
This story is filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end. Could not put this book down and would highly recommend it to any thriller lover.
Reading Between the Wines book review #41/115 for 2023:
Rating: 4 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book 📱: The Night She Vanished
Author: Wendy Dranfield
Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | Mystery & Thrillers
Available now!
Sipping thoughts: I thought I had this one figured out and then refigured out (lol). But I was so wrong and had no inkling on what happened even though it was right under my nose. I love Dranfield’s writing style and the red herrings that you don’t even realize were herrings until the reveal. There were so many clues that I don’t even know how I did not figure this one out. Whether it is a standalone or Detective Madison Harper’s series, I can’t wait to read the next release.
Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @Bookouture for an advanced copy of @TheNightSheVanished.

This was such a good thriller read, so much suspense and so many questions I needed to know the answers to! There were so many twists and turns that I struggled to put it down.
This was a very good book. I couldn't put it down. I needed to know what happened to the missing sister and to find out if she was still alive. I couldn't believe the multiple twists at the end.
OMG was this book good! Did Nicole's parents have something to do with the disappearance of her best friend? or Were her parents protecting her ? Nicole's sister has now disappeared. Was she murdered by her parents? Is history repeating itself.? Nicole will not stop no matter the outcome tills she finds out what happened. So much suspense! Once you start this book you will not be able to stop reading. Its that good! Read it ! You will be up all night finishing!!!
After read The Birthday Party by this author and loving it, I knew that I had to get my hands on this one. This was just as good if not better. I found it to be so thrilling and the writing was phenomenal!
This is my first Wendy Dranfield novel, and it will not be my last! Two mysteries in one—Kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat until the end. Highly recommended!
WOW, I was gripped from the start. A teenager disappears years ago and then another now. Then you find out the girl in the past was Nicole’s best friend and the girl in the present is her sister. Her dad is the sheriff and was a suspect in her friend’s disappearance.
It’s about family dynamics and secrets. I wasn’t sure who to trust and while there are characters that are thrown at you and made to seem shady, there were others that made me wonder based on something just not seeming quite right. And while I, as the reader, was privy to some history that starts off the book, I can’t imagine what type of grief is involved when someone goes missing and while you think you know what happened, but you never really will.
There were so many twists and red herrings. I didn’t want to put it down. Nicole is a relatable character. She is trying without luck to start a family and then must deal with her estranged one.
I can see why this one made the list of books to read this spring. A fast paced thriller that kept me guessing.
Wonderful. Thrilling. A fast paced, heart pounding read..I just could not put it down. Loved this one so much.
