I liked this one. It was overall fairly unique & kept my interest. albeit it was a little slow and dry at times. I liked the characters and felt like the dynamics between each were well-casted & described by Edwards. There were times I felt empathy for most characters. which is a by-product of good writing (considering some were hard to empathize with tbh lol). I found the ending to be a little anti-climactic but was ultimately happy that the storyline was wrapped up neatly.
Mark Edwards does it again!
I was so excited when I got this ARC last week. I love Mark’s writing style and each new adventure is so enthralling. This book really kept me guessing how more than who up up until the end. The twist at the end came out of nowhere but changed the story for the better I believe. 5/5 stars!
Keep your eyes peeled for 05/30 for this book to drop!
A deadly secret turns a couples romance into a nightmare but their not the only ones who know the truth.
After 20 years apart Matthew and Helena have rekindled their college romance and are on their first holiday together in Iceland. Swept up in the romance of it all on a mountain hike, one minute they are taking the perfect picture the next Helena is falling over the edge.
Terrified Matthew nearly misses Helena's sudden shocking confession but what he does hear chills him to the bone and when she reveals the full truth he's left horrified not for what she's done but why and his left wondering if he knows her at all.
Back in England they discover someone else overheard her confession and plans to blackmail her.
As things spiral out of control just how far will he go to protect her.
Had me enthralled from beginning till the end.
Another winner from Mark Edwards.
Thanks to Netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK for the ARC.
How far would you go to help someone you love? . This book made me think about what the point of no return would be for me.No one will truly ever know until they are in the heat of the moment. Mark Edwards is brilliant at weaving tangled plots of lies and deception. As a reader I absolutely love the challenge of untangling the plot and discovering if I am right or wrong. It’s what keeps me reading voraciously to the end. He creates characters that you sympathize with one minute and abhor the next. I basically felt that way about most of the characters: Helena, Matthew, Henry and Devon . The ending was shocking, it left me wanting more. I would love a sequel!
I loved this book but it was very different to Mark's usual mode of writing and was not as horrific as he has written before. The story is certainly plausible with characters that some are likeable but some are definitely not nice. The situations were very well described and I did like the way that the past and the present were intertwined in their discovery for the reader.
The twists and turns made for a quick read as I just wanted to get more information. Without letting the cat out of the bag the ending was so unexpected that I just adored it.
A great author who knows how to keep the reader absorbed in the story.
What a great book!
The beginning of the book was wild from the very first chapter! This is what I love about Mark Edwards, you aren’t waiting for chapters upon chapters to get into some thrills. This book was no different! I found myself reading into the late night because it was so hard to put down. There wasn’t a dull part to take a break!
The premise was new and refreshing! After Matthew discovers a shocking secret about his girlfriend Helena, he soon discovers that he was not the only person who heard Helena that night. The dominoes begin to fall and it’s just one mess after another for Matthew and Helena to clean up. Oh, and not to mention so major twists and turns along the way.
In true Mark Edwards fashion, this book was about normal people who end up in crazy situations and I am HERE FOR IT!
10/10 recommend
It's been twenty years since their college romance and Matthew and Helena are back together. The decide to go on a trip to Iceland and are having a great time until Helena falls off the edge of a cliff. She is saved by the belt of her rucksack that gets caught on a rock. Their tour guide pulls her back up to safety and later that day, Helena confesses a dark secret to Matthew. When they return back home to London, Matthew loses his job and goes to see Helena. While at Helena's, a girl named Devon that was on their Iceland trip shows up at Helena's house with her lost journal. Devon overheard and recorded the secret Helena had told Matthew. What does she want and will they give it to her?
I am such a fan of Mark Edwards and have been reading his books since the beginning. KEEP HER SECRET was not as dark as his other books, but I did enjoy it! I felt bad for Matthew in the beginning of this, because he had no idea what he had in store for himself. As the story progressed there were some shocking revelations, but the ending is what really made the book for me! I loved it! I am happy to say I will read anything Edwards writes in the future!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing, UK for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A very good psychological thriller from author Mark Edwards that kept me turning pages quickly to the very end. This is Mark Edwards at his very best, great characters , well written and a fast paced plot with plenty of excitement.
Matthew and Helena are back together and rekindling a love affair that started twenty years ago. They are on holiday in Iceland on a mountain hike that nearly ends in tragedy with Helena falling over the cliff edge. While Helena is holding on for dear life she makes a confession that leaves Matthew speechless. Later when Helena is safely back in their room she tells Matthew the full story. Matthew is completely shocked and amazed at what Helena has told him and once they arrive back in England they discover someone overheard Helena’s confession and plans to blackmail her. Matthew must decide whether to go to the police or help Helena keep her secret but how far is Matthew willing to go to protect his girlfriend?
This is a real page turner.
I would like to thank both Netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Another corker of a read by Mark Edwards! I loved this story, the opening chapters were amazing, beautifully descriptive and really dragged you in. The characters are really well written and it's full of twists and turns.
I have always enjoyed Mark Edwards myseries and this one was no different. I wasn't sure the direction this was headed, which is always enjoyable and the plot provoked a nice bit of internal conflict where you are perhaps rooting for people who haven't perhaps behaved in the best way!
Thanks, Netgalley for letting me read this book. Mark Edwards is one of my favourite authors when it comes to psychological thrillers. This one didn't disappoint and had lots of good twists and turns.
There's lots to enjoy in Mark Edwards' newest psychological thriller - from the initial Icelandic setting to the thought of what would happen if you reunited with your university sweetheart after 20 years - and some good twists in the tale of revenge and intrigue. Helena and Matthew have rekindled their love after meeting up again at a school reunion- and they quickly get back into a relationship. Helena reveals more and more of her past to Matthew including a truly horrible ex-husband who has had his comeuppance.
A decent plot but I felt some of the plot reveals were a bit too signposted so unfortunately I didn't get that 'gasp out loud' moment that I want in a domestic psych thriller. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading it. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
Keep Her Secret - Mark Edwards
When the lines between black and white blur, will you feel comfortable defining your own boundaries? When you cross those boundaries how far is TOO far?
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing an eARC of this fascinating read.
Mark Edwards' latest offering reaffirms his mastery of the art as he consistently develops "best in class" psychological/thrillers.
If you enjoy this genre of novel and you haven't yet read a book authored by Mark Edwards yet (where HAVE you been 😜), this is a top-caliber novel with which to begin your latest obsession.
Another cracker of a book from Mark! Twists and turns push the well written plot along at a pace! I really enjoyed it!
Firstly I would like to thank netgalley and Amazon publishing UK and the author Mark Edward's for an early copy of his book.
I would like to read more of Mark Edward's crime book, this book is more of a romantic storyline. Matthew and Helena get back together and decide to go to Iceland when Helena has an accident over a cliff thinking she was going to die she says something to Matthew. Do they really know each other?an okay read prefer his earlier books.hope to read more of his scary crime reads.
This book will be reviewed on goodreads and Amazon UK.
I felt this book was a bit drawn out and not quite believeable not as good as his other books .not for me im afraid .
Mark Edwards is one of my all time favourite authors, which meant I was super excited to read this new book. It didn’t disappoint.
I loved the beginning of this book; what a start and it drew me in straight away.
It’s fast paced with lots of twists throughout.
This is another fabulous thriller by this author and one I’d certainly recommend.
Great read ! First time author for me but better late than never… a really well paced thriller I thought I’d solved the crime but each time I was thrown. Each of the characters were in the frame I read it through Matthews eyes he was the narrator (most of the time) it felt like a contemporary who done it by Agatha Christie thinking, about it.
I urge you to get a mug of something nice sit and enjoy a thoroughly well written psychological thriller by this wonderful author!
I used to consider myself a big Mark Edwards fan and really enjoyed the claustrophobic domestic suspense novels that made his name. However, his recent books set in America have been more conventional action thrillers that lacked his trademark intensity and I was beginning to question the sense of anticipation that I feel upon the release of a new Mark Edwards novel.
I am happy to report therefore that ‘Keep Her Safe’ represents a stunning return to form. Mark Edwards is back on home soil doing what he does best. In this case, the central character Matthew reunites with his university sweetheart Helena and, after an idyllic holiday in Iceland, they move in together. At this point, events take several turns for the worse and Matthew begins to wonder what he’s let himself in for and whether Helena is the innocent victim she claims to be. There are plenty of twists and turns and, although some of them are easy to predict, I enjoyed the emotional rollercoaster the reader travels along to get to them.
This book has it all-a second chance romance, adventure, secrets, lies, murder and revenge and that’s just the beginning. The highlight of this story is definitely that ending! Lots of fun!
