Reading A Fatal Affair was like watching a particularly intriguing and juicy episode of your favorite crime drama show. I loved the short chapters and multiple points of view. Both kept the story going at a fast pace while revealing tantalizing clues from each character. I highly recommend reading this!

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for access to this arc.

This was the thriller of my dreams!! I absolutely tore through this book. Short chapters with loads of suspense. If you enjoy books with unreliable narrators, this one is for you. This was definitely on my list of most favorite books so far of 2023.
A big thank you to the author, Thomas & Mercer, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book! I discovered the author, A.R. Torre, last year and have fallen in love with her books. This one was no exception. I loved the setting and backdrop of Hollywood glitz and glam, as well as the medical issues going on. I kept guessing who was *spoiler* the real murderer and in the end I was very surprised. It's always fun to be surprised and not have a predictable ending. All in all this gets five stars from me and I can't wait to see what everyone else thinks when it's officially published!

Good thriller with a solid twist and ending, just a bit of a predictable one. Well executed though and well written!

DNF'd at 35 percent

This is my first read of A.R. Torre's and I have heard nothing but great things of their other novels. I couldn't get into this story because of the way it was presented. Each chapter is told from the perspective of a different character and there were just too many to keep track of. By the time I reached the next chapter from a character I just read about, I had forgotten what was already talked about. By 20 percent in, I was genuinely confused and began skimming, hoping it would get better. Nothing jumped out on the page that brought me back into the story line. I clearly am part of the unpopular opinion because this book has great reviews on GoodReads.

I was really looking forward to this book as I absolutely love thrillers but this one unfortunately fell flat for me. I felt like there were too many POV's going on, I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters and honestly found it giving me a bit of a headache

4.5 Stars
I have so much to say about A Fatal Affair but can't say what's on my mind without giving too much away. It's always like that with an A.R. Torre book. So instead, you're getting a list of the things I can say.

What made me love A Fatal Affair:

*The writing. It's dark, twisty, and fascinating. I'm always shocked or surprised by what Torre comes up with in her stories.
*The short chapters. They kept the story moving at a fast pace. No time to get bored in this book.
*The multiple points of view. Each character had an important part to play. I was especially interested in the Iverson twins and Nora. I wouldn't have minded more from their POVs. Same for Miles and Kyle. Heck, I wouldn't even have minded more from the detectives.
*The way the plot was woven. I had a feeling where this story was going, but there were still little surprises along the way. I liked how I was given pieces to put together from each character's POV.
*There was a satisfying conclusion, and yet, I still wanted to know more. The ending was totally what I would expect from Torre. She's going to keep me thinking about this book for a long time to come.

The only thing I wanted more of from A Fatal Affair was:

*I said the ending kept me wanting to know more. I wanted a little more about Nora and the Iverson twins. I also wanted a little more of Miles and Kyle. There weren't necessarily loose ends, but just a feeling of needing more. I guess that's why I love Torre's books, though. She keeps me wondering about certain things.

Overall, this was another fantastic book by Torre. It continues to show why she's my favorite author in the mystery/thriller genre. Her books are so much fun to read. I can't wait to find out what she has coming up next.

Murder-Suicide? Or just murder?

AR Torre books are so fun for me to read. I find them addicting and entertaining and intriguing. Once you start this is hard to set down, so clear your schedule!

Pros:
- quick & short chapters
- which helps with the pace
- twist and turns that make it an intriguing story

Cons:
- too many characters and I didn't care about any of them because we don't spend any significant time with them to know and care about them
- predictable
- unsatisfying ending

I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try out a thriller novel. While this wasn't a complete success for me it is a readable novel with an excellent pace.

*thanks to NetGalley for the copy of the book in exchange for an honest review

Thank you to Netgalley and A.R. Torre for granting this digital ARC request. A Fatal Affair was deadly suspenseful ride. Endless twists that has a reader second guessing every character. This is a phenomenal thriller and shows why A.R Torre is one of the best new thriller writers. She constantly delivers and this will be on top titles of 2023.

Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced copy. I really like this author and this did not disappoint. I liked the different plot, and it kept me guessing. It was an easy read, solid and I would recommend to anyone who wants a good psychological thriller. I’ll keep reading this author.

I don't read many thrillers but for some reason this one jumped at me. What stood out to me from the start was the very short chapters that were headlined with the different characters' roles in the book. This and the changing point of view made this a very quick read that had some twists but overall was predictable (but I feel whenever twins are involved it's kinda always predictable to a certain degree).
The downside of the constantly changing point of view is that you can't really connect to any of the characters.
Regardless, A Fatal Affair was a solid thriller that kept me interested until I finished.

Fatal affair. I gave it 4 stars because I liked the suspense and thought it was a well written book. I am not a huge fan of Hollywood crimes and the two detectives weren’t my favorite. Overall I give this 4 stars and would say if you like crime books then to give this a try.

I read it in one sitting due to its captivating storyline. The book is fast-paced, filled with twists, and has interesting characters with a lot of moving pieces. The story begins with the murder of a famous actor's twin and an unknown woman, and follows different points of view, including the remaining twin, Hugh, and his fiancée, Nora. As the police investigate, Hugh and Nora realize they have secrets they want to keep hidden. While there are a few plot holes, that didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book.
Overall, I recommends this book for those who enjoy thrilling and suspenseful reads.

A.R. Torre never disappoints! A Fatal Affair intertwines two super interesting and suspenseful stories. Hugh Iverson and Nora Kemp are America's celebrity sweethearts, engaged to be married and in the center of the public eye. When Hugh's twin brother ends up dead with a mysterious woman in his home, the investigation leads to dark secrets within the Iverson-Kent household. At the same time, suburban mom Kerry Pepper goes missing after taking her cancer-stricken son on a Make-a-Wish trip to Disneyland. As Kerry's husband searches for her, her dark past leads directly to the Iversons.
Torre writes dark and twisted thrillers, and I can't get enough. While the twist wasn't jaw-droppingly surprising, it was entertaining and steamy enough.

I started reading this book then put it down and read a few others as I couldn’t keep up with the short chapters and different character point of views! Then when I picked it up again I found this’ll at was what I most liked about the book is the short chapters and different character POVs!
It was definitely captivating and kept me guessing!
