Twisty, disturbing, and utterly addictive, this is one you won't want to put down until the very last page. The setting in Hollywood, the characters all trained liars, you won't know who to trust.

I have loved everything I have read so far by this author but this one is my absolute favorite. It went places I never expected it to go and the chapters from each perspective was perfection. The only complaint I have is that I want more. For anyone who loves thrillers, I highly recommend this one. Five Stars.

Thank you Netgalley and Thomas and Mercer for this ARC.

I would consider this more mystery/thriller “lite.” It's not as twisty or shocking or gripping as most mystery/thrillers, but it does do a good job at keeping the reader engaged and constantly saying “huh.”

It's an interesting story, but in a subtle kind of way. And I absolutely loved the short chapters. I think AT is successful at utilising them to create a fast pace, quick POV switches, and an “edge of your seat” kind of feeling.

So not exactly the most exciting story AT has written, but it definitely gets the job done! A must read if you enjoy celebrity scandals.

The Unexpected..
Prepare for the unexpected in this smart and edgy psychological domestic suspense with a complicated love triangle at its’ heart and where nothing is ever as it seems. Nora Kemp is juggling two men - and they just happen to be twins. When a death occurs who can possibly be believed? A cast of credible and well drawn characters populate a swiftly moving plot of many threads which merge well leading to a denouement with several nicely done twists. Skilfully done.

This story had some real potential but I feel like early foreshadowing and hint dropping ruined the plot twist.

The overwhelming urge to yell out cancel my day I’m reading while reading this as if I have the authority or ability to do that.

Think The Club meets One of Us Is Lying (by JR) meets The Disappearing Act meets Big Little Lies. I was completely happy buckling up and enjoying the ride on this one. You definitely have to be able to overlook the “twist” without rolling your eyes and then you’ll love it. It was one of those books where I just enjoyed it so much that really whatever the ending was I was going to be happy with. Which really means that it could’ve been better because I didn’t love how it wrapped but I enjoyed it so much I’m not going to dock marks for that.

If you’ve read the books I said it was a mix of you also know that the vibe going into this one is a fun read similar to the feelings you get watching reality tv. Don’t go in thinking this is anything other than that. But for the mood it was perfect.

Freaking love her writing style, off to the backlist i go.

This book I was instantly hooked within the first few pages!! The chapters are quick. The story is captivating full of suspense, mystery and twists! If you love detective crime shows like CSI this is perfect read for you. It’s a book filled with Hollywood stars with secrets and lies. Like I said the book pulls you in quickly and you feel like your working along side the detectives to help solve this double murder. There are multiple point of view with the way the story is told. Little by little layers are pulled back and secrets, lies and twists are revealed. Hugh Iverson and Nora Kemp are Hollywoods it couple. They are engaged to be married and live in a luxurious neighborhood in Beverly Hills. One of the house assistants discovered the body of Hugh’s twin brother Trent and an unidentified women in the guest house. Trent has the bad boy reputation. Living it up with parties, drugs and alcohol. As police start to investigate what they think is a murder suicide a little more details come to light that might suggest that or might be a little twist.
Many thanks to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for the digital review copy of this novel. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A Fatal Affair opens quickly - two bodies, a man and a woman, have been found in the home of Hollywood’s golden couple, Hugh Iverson and Nora Kemp. This setup is unique in that the deceased woman was a housewife far from home whose young sick son also goes missing at the same time. Then we start quickly going through the shorter chapters from several points of view including the Hollywood couple, the detective, the missing son, and the murdered woman’s husband. Information was slowly revealed through each person’s perspective and learned a little more each chapter.

This novel kept me reading and wanting to know more. Why was the murdered woman even in that home? We learn more as her husband tries to figure that out. What if anything did Hollywood’s golden couple know? The plot was really strong and captivating for me. The reason for the 3 stars is because I unfortunately did not find the big twist believable and then found myself not being as engaged. The book was peppered with smaller twists that I did not see coming. Overall, this is a fast past but easy to follow book that will certainly keep you turning the page wanting to know what is going on!

Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas and Mercer for the free copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was good and twisty. I always enjoy the multiple POVs. This one seemed to have a little too much fluff POV wise that wasn’t all that necessary but overall a solid read!

I love AR Torre and another successful book with A Faral Affair. I have to be honest and admit that I didn’t swoon over it the way I did her previous ones but it still hit the mark on what I love about her. The mystery and intrigue and straight to it facts. I was a bit bummed that I saw the end coming from a mile away but nevertheless I still enjoyed it.

Two brothers who love the same girl. Two brothers who are identical in every single way. Two brothers who are movie stars and have twisted dark secrets. Then you’ve got the girl who has fought tooth and nail, possibly quite literally, to become the person she is. America’s sweetheart. Then you’ve got the detective who is on the hunt for a killer, a husband wife and child who have their own dark secrets and it’s all wrapped into one fabulous deathly story.

I definitely recommend this one! It’s an easy read and enjoyable - what else do you need?

A Fatal Affair by AR Torre delivered exactly what this author does so well: twisty, fast paced, deliciously juicy drama that had me racing through the pages. Her writing style is crisp and breezy, and the multiple POVs were distinct and not at all confusing. I also loved The Hollywood setting- give me glitz and glamour any day! Oh- and TWINS!!! Highly recommend!!

This is my second book by A.R. Torte. My first one was The Ghostwriter. A Fatal Affair was an enjoyable read. I do enjoy alternating POV’s but it felt like too much with this book. I lost interest almost halfway through. I just felt like it slowed down too much for me. I would still love to read more by this author in the future.

Great googly moogly. 4.5 stars that I'm rounding up to 5 because my brain is still shooketh!! This was completely bananas, in the best possible ways! You have no idea what's going on and then suddenly you know what's happening, but can't wrap your brain around it. I've not had so many aha/oh no you didn't/no freaking way moments for quite some time. I absolutely loved it, but then I always love this author's works.

Thank you Net Galley and Thomas & Mercer for this ARC. This book was not what I expected at all - I enjoyed how quick the story moved, the short chapters, and I did not expect the twists at the end.

Short, abrupt chapters and an ending that felt like a cop out made this just an okay read for me, which is unfortunate since this was my first read by this author, and I was pretty excited about it.

At this point I'm downright obsessed with A.R. Torre and I will read literally anything she writes, and she does not miss with these twisty thrillers.

A Fatal Affair is A.R. Torre's upcoming release and tells the story of a double homicide in the Hollywood hills. This thriller is packed full of twists and turns and has one of my favorite tropes in a mystery. If you need a fast-paced thriller to pull you out of a slump or you just want to read a book that will keep you guessing until the very end, check out A Fatal Affair out June 20th! If you can't wait until June (I don't blame you) I highly recommend any of A.R. Torre's most recent thriller releases on Kindle Unlimited!

A surprisingly good mystery! This one had a lot of moving parts, quite a few collections of characters and many a thriller cliché. However, I was thoroughly invested and while I had some correct guesses regarding the plot, not nearly all of them ended up correct. I received this as an ARC so there were a few grammatical/spelling errors that will most likely be fixed by publication. If you like a mystery that leans heavily into police procedurals, this might be a great match for you!
