This is my second book by AR Torre and once again a page turner!!! Who done it? More like Who is it?! Keeps the reader guessing from chapter one! This is a summer beach must read for sure! For the celeb set this book has the glam as well - I prefer “regular” characters but this was a fresh take! Torre is similar to Liv Constantine and Sandie Jones! I am very appreciative of the advance copy and can’t wait for the next book by this Author! Thank you again!

This is a highly enigmatic, intelligent, complex, and riveting thriller created by the dark side of Alessandra Torre. The plot is similar to her past stimulating and sizzling romances, centering around a woman who falls in love with two brothers. The author develops the saucy concept of identical twins, leaving the reader guessing until the end of the book as to who the real culprit is. The twists are batsh*t crazy, and the leading man and woman, who are both actors, are excellent at their jobs, making it difficult to determine who is lying or telling the truth.

The plot is surprising: America's sweetheart Nora Kemp is engaged with Oscar winner star, Hugh Iverson, while also having an affair with Hugh's trainwreck-bad boy brother, Trent Iverson, who was a child star in the religious show "Story Farm". When Trent and an unidentified woman are found dead in the guest house of the Beverly Hills mansion that Hugh and Nora inhabit, detectives initially label it a murder-suicide case. However, the investigation leads to the discovery of a missing mother and her six-year-old cancer patient son, and it becomes unclear whether the cases are connected. The killer seems to be a skilled individual with a history of killing, leaving the reader wondering if Trent was responsible and if there are other victims.

Prepare to be surprised by the many unpredictable twists in this thrilling book. The twists are smart and will slap you in the face when you least expect it.

The author's writing style is enjoyed, whether in her dark works or her pant-melting, hyperventilating erotic romances. I am looking forward to reading more of Alessandra Torre's future works.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the amazing digital reviewer copy, in exchange for an honest opinion.

This book broke my streak of not being able to find a book I cared enough about to finish! Yahoo! I literally flew through it in a day, I could not put it down.

I loved the format, the story told in so many different voices and viewpoints and yet it was never confusing. Each voice brought me a little closer to solving this fabulous mystery. I loved all of the clues and the guessing, it took me quite awhile to solve it all and I loved that too. I love when a mystery keeps me guessing till almost the bitter end. And what a great end it was.

The characters were all well written, the setting was well defined and I could place myself within the pages, which I love. This was just a delicious read which I always get with this author. I highly recommend it!

Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read and early review copy of this book All opinions are my own

I was really interested in this book once I saw the title and book cover. It just captures your brain if you are into this kind of book. I thought by the middle of it, I knew who done it. I was so shocked at the end when I was able to find out. I would totally recommend this book to other people once it's out.
Thank you for letting me read this book before it came out.

A Fatal Affair by A.R. Torre
A.R. Torre never fails to grab my attention right out of the gate.
Her newest book is about twin brothers who also happen to be Hollywood movie stars. Their fame started young under the thumb of their perfect and also famous mother. But as always there is so much more to the story than meets the eye. Lies, deception and murder are just a few.
I really enjoyed how the story came together in the end and that last chapter! Wow!

I liked this book but can see why others didn’t. It was way more of a police procedural than a psychological thriller, but if you like that genre (and are fascinated by twins, like me), I think you’ll like it. The story is told from many different POVs, from the victim to the detectives to the suspects. Despite the changing POVs, it’s very easy to tell who is who.

The storyline was sound and also unique, but I would’ve enjoyed more of a backstory that would’ve helped the reader draw the conclusions on their own. I don’t think this was part of a series but i did feel I missed something that got us to this point. That being said, even if I missed a backstory I thought there were great twists and the author tied all the strings together.

Overall I enjoyed the book but think those who enjoy a police procedural will enjoy it more than those who enjoy a psychological thriller. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve never read anything by this author before, and I loved the cover and plot, but I just couldn’t finish it. Maybe I’ll come back to it later but I just didn’t care what the reveal was.

When a double murder takes place in Hollywood and a child goes missing, many questions come up. Was it a murder-suicide? A double murder? Where is the missing boy? Are there more related murders? This book kept me hooked from the first word until the end!!

Golden child v. Wild child...Come on now! We must choose?
Ok, twin actors are on the line-up in A Fatal Affair.
One of our main characters-Nora's-pregnant with Hughes baby. She's ironically in bed with his twin aka bad boy -Trent. He's got a serious reputation with drugs, women, and small petty crimes.
Now, his body was located with another woman on their families property but it ain't what you're thinking.
Hell, no! It never is just that simple in life.
It's a mom's job to always know the truth- Right? The Iverson's may be hiding something.
Could this be a murder/suicide?
Look, the staff is quiet even though this happened in the guest house.
Somebody has to know something.
About this woman and a son? No,?
This was one heck of a wild twister that you'll not put down.
Thank you to AR Torre (aka Alessandra), Thomas & Mercer, and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for an arc of A Fatal Affair in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced.

Nora is in love with two men: Hugh and Hugh’s twin brother, Trent. Trent & another woman are found dead on Hugh’s property and now Nora & Hugh must figure out what happened to save themselves & their reputations. Nothing is as it seems and the detectives have their work cut out for them in this thriller.

I read this novel in one sitting. It was very fast-paced and kept me on the edge of my seating wanting to know what happens next. Very well written & captured my attention immediately. I am not usually a fan of multiple POV, but that didn’t even bother me in this one.

This was my first A.R. Torre read and I will definitely be reading more by this author.

This novel was fantastic & I highly recommend grabbing a copy when it releases in June 2023.

I rated it 4.5 Stars (I am extremely greedy with my 5 Stars this year)

Actress Nora Kemp loves two men. One is Hugh Iverson, a movie star who gives Nora security. The other is his twin brother, Trent, who is known to be a Hollywood bad boy but is the one who truly has Nora's heart. One morning Trent and an unidentified woman are found dead on the Iversons' Beverly Hills mansion. Initially the investigation suspects a murder-suicide. But as the detectives begin to dig deeper they find suspicions of a serial killer and a missing mother and son.

This is a fast paced page turner told from multiple POVs which seem random at first until the stories start to intertwine and make sense. The one thing keeping this from being a 5 star read was that many parts of the story were predictable for me. The ending was also a bit of a far reach in my opinion (that is all I can say without giving spoilers). I prefer books that leave you completely shocked and shaken to the core at the ending and this one just didn't quite do that. With that being said, I did breeze through the book and was engaged for the entire story.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I do these things to get noticed. To keep you interested in me and your family. To keep you at home. To keep you faithful.

A young mother and her son go missing when they win a trip to Disneyland through a charity organization, "Make a Wish". The child has a brain tumour, and his parents would do anything for him.
A movie star's identical twin brother is found dead of an apparent suicide on his property, along with an unknown woman, who is tied to a chair and stabbed.

At first the detectives have no way of knowing that these two cases are connected. When they do discover the connection, they are chilled to the bone. A serial killer with a bizarre motive has been killing for years.

Wow! A R Torre has really outdone herself with this 'killer' (pardon the pun) novel.
I just could not put it down! Intriguing from the first chapter to the last.
Please readers, be aware there are a couple of triggers in this book.
You will be kept guessing from the beginning, and the twists at the end? Absolutely mind blowing.
I honestly would give this a 5 star rating, but the typos throughout the book has kept it at a 4.

I highly recommend this book

Many thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I found the storyline of A Fatal Affair to be confusing, contrived and unbelievable. . There are several themes, (movie star worship, fictitious disorder, kidnappings, and murder) none of which really came together for me. The characters are pretty much one dimensional and not likable. Nora’s transformation from her youth to becoming “the most beautiful girl in the world” was an especially hard sell. I have read other things by A R Torres which I thought were quite good, but this was a disappointment.

I regret that I could not give this a better review, and do appreciate NetGally giving me the opportunity to read A Fatal Affair.

The thriller are on fire this year! Told in the style of a Hollywood tabloid, A FATAL AFFAIR on the surface is about the seedy side of the Hollywood glitz and glamour. Actress Nora Kemp is in love with two brothers, actor twins Hugh and Trent Iverson. Hugh has an impeccable reputation while Trent is known as the wild child, with a past full of drugs, women, and petty crimes. Nora craves something from each brother, so even though she's engaged to Hugh and is pregnant with his baby, she is still seeing Trent on the side. Her affair comes to an end when his body, along with that of an unidentified woman, is found in the couple's guesthouse. The investigation leans toward murder/suicide, but nothing in Trent's past suggests he's capable of such violence.

The staff is tight-lipped, and Hugh begins questioning the scope of the detective's search warrant. What exactly is everyone trying to hide? When news breaks of a missing mother and her young son, attention is once more turned to Trent. How is he linked to this woman, and more importantly, where is her missing son?

Every single book I've read by this author has been a page-turner, and this one was certainly no different. Just like a real-life Hollywood scandal, there were so many buried secrets, lies, hidden agendas, and terrible human beings. After all, Marlon Brando said, “Most of the successful people in Hollywood are failures as human beings.”

Many thanks to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing for my early copy. A FATAL AFFAIR will publish June 20, 2023.

𝑨 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒇𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓, while it differed significantly from Torre’s prior work in the genre, was an enjoyable and bingeworthy read from start to finish. I loved the layout of the novel, the easy flow of the prose, and seemingly random cast of characters that somehow managed to come together in the end.

Read if you like:
* Short chapters
* Hollywood whodunnits
* Dual POVs

𝑨 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒇𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓 hits shelves June 20, 2023!

3.25/5 stars! I've read several other great books by this author, so I jumped at the chance to read "A Fatal Affair." The premise of this story was so creepy and the book really lived up to this. It was masterfully written, with multiple twists. I didn't see coming. Where I struggled was the lack of chemistry with the characters. No one was really likable so although I hadn't guessed the ending, I didn't find myself caring that much.

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Another fun, twisty thriller by A.R. Torre! Interesting characters and storyline. The pages turned quickly for me in this enjoyable read! I am a fan of this author, and look forward to more of her books!

Thank you very much to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for the advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Based off of the first few chapters, I didn’t think I was going to enjoy this book. There are a lot of characters introduced at the beginning, which I found to be confusing at first. However, I think multiple view points adds to the dramatic reveal when all the point of views start “clicking into place”. This book was highly entertaining and fast-paced - every detail shared made sense for the plot of the book. I will say I was not a huge fan of the ending/plot twist as it just seems like an overdone trope. If you’re someone who enjoys a fast-paced, engaging thriller - this is it!

Thank you to Thomas & Mercer and A.R. Torre for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This is a deliciously twisty Hollywood who done it. There is a double homicide at the Beverly Hills home of Hollywood it couple Hugh Iverson and his fiancee Nora Kemp. Hugh's twin brother Trent is dead in the guest house along with an unidentified woman. Who is the woman and what is her connection to Trent Iverson. This book is told in mutiple POV's of all the key players. I really enjoyed this book and loved how it all came together in the end.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a copy of this book for review.
