This was such a good book, so mysterious and twisty and I loved it! I didn't trust anyone. Amazing book!
I thought this was an enjoyable police procedural. I don't usually love books that have characters who are celebrities in them, but I didn't mind it in this one. I thought the twists were good, and I liked the short chapters and fast-paced plot.
I'm a fan of this author, and although I have a few of her books still to read, I'm always looking forward to her next release!
Thank you, @netgalley, @amazonpublishing, Thomas & Mercer, and the author for the gifted e-arc of this book!

Another solid read of A.R Torre! I find her books so bingeable and fun, the perfect "mindless" beach type read and this was no different.
I loved the characters, pacing, the plot, and the twists delivered!
A Fatal Affair was a miss for me. While I enjoyed the premise, the delivery lacked anything other than predictability and far-fetched melodrama. This storyline seemed like a stretch even for Torre. Sadly, not one I’d recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I loved this book, just like I have loved all of her other books! It’s set in Los Angeles, which is one of my favorite settings. It’s about twin brothers who are actors. One of them is married to an actress - she happens to be in love with both brothers 😳
When one brother is found dead, their lives are turned upside down
The Fatal Affair had everything I could wished for in a book – love triangle, drama, set in Hollywood. Unfortunately, it just didn’t stick the landing with me. It was well paced, with a great plot and short chapters (loved!!), but the twist was a tad predicable. Also, there were so many characters that sometimes it was hard to keep track of.
I would definitely recommend this read to someone who wants a police procedural type for a summer read. I will also be going back to AR Torre’s later books and giving them a try due to the overall fast pace and writing.
I want to thank NetGalley, AR Torre and Thomas & Mercer for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.
I received at complementary ARC of this book from Netgalley on behalf of Thomas and Mercer and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.
This story was so fast paced, short chapters each written in different character viewpoints, kept this story moving quickly.
After finding two dead bodies at the mansion of two Hollywood superstars, detectives are called in to investigate the case and as they dig deeper and deeper more questions arise.
I don’t want to give away to much of this story but if you are a thriller reader put this book on your TBR list.
📕 Stars. Lovers. Liars. Killers. This is Hollywood, and everyone has a part to play in a shocking novel of suspense by New York Times bestselling author A. R. Torre.
Actress Nora Kemp loves two men. One is Hugh Iverson, a philanthropic movie star who gives Nora security and respectability. The other is Hugh’s twin brother, Trent, a Hollywood bad boy who brings out Nora’s wild side. When Trent and an unidentified woman are found dead on the Iversons’ Beverly Hills property, more than Nora’s and Hugh’s reputations are at stake.
A fast and captivating thriller with some amazing twists! I love how Torre developed a complex and riveting story based around identical twins - I love stories that involve twins. This one will have you turning the pages so fast with a clever and unpredictable plot.
This is my 2nd book by this author and won’t be my last! Expect to be highly entertained.
Many thanks to @netgalley @amazonpublishing #thomasandmercer for an advanced reading copy.

Hollywood superstars who behave poorly and have TONS of secrets?! Count me in!
I loved that this story had what seemed to be two storylines that have no connection at all. After awhile, they come together perfectly in a unique way! I loved that you couldn't trust any of the characters. I also disliked a lot of them, but also didn't hate them because of their backstories. This was a fast paced read, told from multiple point of views with lots of suspense and twists. Some of them even took me by surprise!
This is the perfect thriller to take to the beach or pool with you!
I am so thankful to Thomas and Mercer, Netgalley, and A.R. Torre for granting me advanced digital access to this jarring thriller. I couldn't put it down and can't wait to consume more of this like-minded content going forward.
This isnt the first or last book i have read from this wonderful author and I knew when I requested a copy and was approved I was going to be in for a great time...
Told over multiple POVs which I love in a thriller we where as a reader trying to piece together the murder of a highly esteemed actor and a missing mother and son.
It kept me hooked with its short snappy well written chapters, granted I did guess the reveal towards the end but i loved some characters and hated others which is the sign of a wonderfully written book.

I have had such mixed feelings about 𝗔 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 and 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁, but I am so glad I enjoyed this one. If I'm being honest, I definitely went into it with low expectations. I am so glad I ended up enjoying this one!
Despite this book having almost 100 chapters, this was such a quick and short read. If you love short chapters, like I do, then this is one you may end up flying through. There are so many POVs I found interesting. I am also a sucker for books that deal with the whole Hollywood side.
I definitely found myself flying through this book and not wanting to put it down. I did predict the ending very early on, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment. I also really enjoyed the way this book was structured, the narrators are super unreliable - which makes it much more fun.
Overall, this was a fast-paced thriller with a twisty ending - a bit predictable - but nonetheless, the story was so fun and engaging. I loved the Hollywood and rich people vibes from these characters and I’m glad I liked this one more than the other two I mentioned above - highly recommend this book for a quick read!
Thank you so much NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the review copy in exchange for my honest review!
Masterful storytelling creates an atmosphere of suspense and tension, with twists and turns that leave you guessing until the very end. The well-developed characters are complex and intriguing, adding depth to the thrilling plot. The pacing is relentless, never giving you a moment to catch your breath, making this book an exhilarating and addictive reading experience for all fans of the genre.
Short snappy chapters….
Scene changes like the flash of lightning in the sky…
The rain of POVs from all directions…
A child hidden in a closed room…
Murders in the house of a Hollywood couple…
A triangle relationship…a woman between twin brothers…
Past parental abuse and serial killing….
Personas and perceptions and what people see with assumptions….
Million threads that boggle the mind with a jaw dropping twist at the end….
A fast paced murder mystery, A Fatal Affair is one book that fires on all cylinders. Biting nails and pacing like a caged lion won’t help in rushing to the end of the story which is what I wanted to do especially when the small child Miles was introduced and knowing that no one is aware of even his kidnapped state. Phew, it was one roller coaster ride… A couple of the things felt loosely plotted and needed more clarity like the FB group psychopath stalking the women and investigators missing out on certain details but these are just minor flaws in this entertaining thriller.
Nope, don't pick this one as a cunning and mindblowing police procedural, you are bound to be disappointed.
A Fatal Affair is a crazy mystery thriller with all elements of the plot blended together to make it an easy read.
Many thanks to Net Galley, Thomas & Mercer, and the author for a chance to read and review this book. All opinions are expressed voluntarily.

This was a wild ride and I really liked it. Didn't ser the twist at the end. Some of it but not the main big detail at the very last moment. I do think the ending kinda finished abruptly and I didn't feel like it was the most satisfying conclusion. Bad guys didn't get it like I wanted
A Fatal Affair by A.R Torre
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
OK, honesty time. I felt like it took forever for me to get into this one - but past experiences would tell me to hang on. So I did. And let me tell you. I'm glad I did.
But also I feel like I am no closer to actually understanding what alot of the book.
*spoiler below*
My main thing is I still have no clue about Nora and what the Facebook group was about and how exactly it tied in. Nor do I know why she was going to a make-a-wish event- and ended up dead in a house that never actually seemed to be connected to her ...
*spoiler above*
With the spoiler confusion above being said. I did enjoy the story and that the end was kind of left open-ended for the reader to decide which story they believed.
Thanks! Thomas Mercer via @netgalley and @thrillerbookloverspromotions for sending this #arccopy to read.
This book was such a quick read for me. It had all the twists and turns you need in a good crime thriller. Why oh why didn't I see that twist at the end? (definitely not going to give too much away).
Welcome to Hollywood and the life of twins Hugh and Trent Iverson. They are massive Hollywood stars living the high life when one fatal morning it all comes crashing down. A murder suicide occurred at the Iverson mansion!
Hugh is the Oscar winning star, engaged to a beautiful actress - Norah Kemp. Trent is the bad boy who has had many stints in rehab. When detectives, Farah and Kevin show up to investigate the murder-suicide things start getting interesting. A Mum and her six year old son is missing. Could this be connected or are we dealing with something different all together?
Definitely a good read if you enjoy celebrity scandals and some good twists and turns. Short chapters are always a winner for me, always makes the book a quick read for me.
Thank you Netgalley and Thomas and Mercer for my gifted copy of this book for my honest review.
This is my second A.R. Torre book.
And unfortunately, this one did not grab my attention.
Twin brothers with the same lover and one of the twins ends up dead.
Hollywood type drama (which is not one of my favorites).
The ended did catch me off guard, so I will give it that.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in return of a honest review.
Get your popcorn 🍿ready guys as this is a fun one! 🤩🤩 I’ve been meaning to read a book by A.R Torre for AGES and when Thriller Boo Lovers Promotions offered me the chance to read an e-copy I jumped at the chance - it didn’t disappoint! 😍😍
It’s got twins, it’s got multiple POV (and I mean multiple - get a notepad…!)📝 it’s got a police procedural element (yaaas!), it’s got a mysterious missing child 😱, a Facebook group about mums behaving badly 😱😱 and a rather suspect charity granting wishes for sick kids… 🤔🤔
I loved the pace and the chapters were short and punchy (the best kind). I kinda guessed WHERE it was going but I loved finding out HOW it got there. Special shout out to the two LA detectives Farah and Kevin trying to solve the case - great dialogue! 👏🏻 👏🏻
Overall a fun, twisty and mysterious thriller with betrayal and murder - if you’re into scandalous Hollywood capers, this one’s for you. I’m off to get Torre’s backlist which is also free on KU 🖤🖤
Thank you to the fabulous Tonya at Thrille Book Lovers Promotions, A.R Torre and Thomas and Mercer for the chance to read this one!
A Fatal Affair by AR Torre is one heck of a scandalous and riveting read. Are dramatic soap operas your jam?? If so, this one is definitely for you. Do know, this leans more on a police procedural than a psychological thriller but it was entertaining. The twist in this book were very predictable but also entertaining and fun.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for sharing this digital reviewer copy for me in exchange for my honest review.
