Many thanks to Netgalley for this book. I received this book in exchange for my honest review. My thoughts are entirely my own.
Dante and Vivian are forced into an arranged marriage after Vivian's father Francis blackmails Dante after he sees Dante's brother Luca kissing the daughter of a Russian Mafia. Dante doesn't like Vivian and vice versa until they start to get to know each other. They slowly start to fall in love until Vivian overhears Dante and Francis talking about the blackmail and she leaves him. He apologizes and asks for a second chance which she gives him. They end up getting married at the end and Vivian's relationship with her mother ends up better than it began.
This book was my life while I was reading it. I could not and did not want to put it down. Ana Huang did some magic with this book, the writing style, the characters, the action ... ohhhh my. I loved all of it. I am ready to read the rest of the series and hoping it lives up to the expectations of this first book.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and author for the copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
The tropes checked the boxes for me.
I definitely wasn't a fan of Ana Huangs writing and that disappointed me. I wasn't able to get far in this book before the characters were annoying me and I just couldn't force myself to read a book I knew for sure I would not enjoy it. I don't think I'll be trying any more of Anas writing. I know some people love her books but she's just not for me.
Ana Huang is a great author for fast and fiery reads. Her Twisted series and now Kings is a BookTok sensation for a reason. The whole enemy to lovers trope is alive and well in King of Wrath and takes you on a journey that has you rooting for the HEA.
LOVED this book! This was such a fun read and I love forced proximity and marriage of convenience. Vivian was such a strong female MC and I loved that. Ana Huang's books are always fun reads for me.
I love billionaire romances, but unfortunately, this book was unable to pique my interest. I skimmed through to the ending.
Dante and Vivian are swoonworthy! The banter and chemistry had me obsessed with every word. High power billionaire romances have to be done right & this one was perfection. The grumpy sunshine trope between the two made it even better and I loved how Dante always showed his love for Vivian. I always find myself glued to the pages of this authors writing and this was no exception. Definitely recommend!
My first Ana Huang book and I'm an instant fan! This book was so good! I loved the chemistry between Viv and Dante. Arranged marriage and forced proximity books have been done again and again, but The King of Wrath made me believe in their relationship. The steam was perfect and I loved the buildup between the two of them. The payoff was well worth it! There's definitely a formula going on here, a third-act breakup included, but I enjoyed the novel enough to give 4.5 stars
This book had it all… angst, passion and lust. Couldn’t get enough and highly enjoyed this thrilling read.
I just dont think Ana Huang is for me - i enjoyed twisted love but havent loved much of her work since
This was a great read!
We got the billionaire romance, the arranged marriage, the enemies to lovers... all the big hits of a great romance. On top of including tropes we all know and love, it was super well written. I feel like sometimes I struggle to believe the relationships in similar novels because they don't develop realistically. However, Dante and Vivian's relationship felt very genuine. Their journey from strangers to enemies to friends, and ultimately to lovers, was so captivating. I was hooked from page 1 and stayed engaged the whole time.
Thank you so much to Bloom and NetGalley for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review!
I've started this book multiple times and I keep putting it back down. I think it's just not for me, even though I know MANY people who loved it!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of King of Wrath by Ana Huang.
ah, this was a delight. totally predictable and formulaic? you bet, but I still ate it up. this book was HOT 🌶️🌶️🌶️ once the third act breakup hit it felt like things dragged on longer than they needed to, but overall, this was a fun billionaire enemies to lovers romance that was easy to fly through. I definitely want to continue this series and read more by this author!
I would love to interview Ana on my podcast in April. King of Wrath is such a good series and Ana is an incredible author. She’s written a lot of my favorite fictional crushes.
I’ll be honest and say that I didn’t go into this book with high hopes. The Twisted Series wasn’t my favorite, but I had hopes that aging the characters up would reduce some of the immaturity. I didn’t expect for all four Twisted MMC to be merged into Dante which didn’t work in the slightest. There were a lot of cliches, and I really didn’t find anything original about the story. I had a bit of a gripe with some of the characterization, and I couldn’t see past it at times. Most importantly, I was bored for so much of this story. The only thing that somewhat saved this story was how Dante fought for her at the end which I did find in alignment with his character development.
I decided that I’ll read Kai’s story then DNF the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book, that I've read by Ana Huang, I know that she has a large following and I wanted to see what all of the hype is about. This book was comprised of tropes I typically enjoy: Arranged marriage, Dual POV, Age gap, Forced proximity, etc but it didn't work for me. Personally, I may be in a romance slump but I got tired of reading about these characters pretty quickly. I will probably attempt to read more of her work at another time, maybe this series just isn't for me.
I'm not sure why but this book wasn't my favorites of Ana Huangs novels. I will be continuing the other books in the series though and it was still a great read overall.
I love this book so much! Dante and Vivian are so good together and I love how the journey starts off very rocky at first - Dante is a major jerk in the early chapters but Vivian is not about to let him ruin her life. She continues to work and do what makes her happy and it drives Dante crazy and even jealous. Maybe the enemies daughter is nothing like the enemy, and Dante finds himself unable to resist this incredible young woman.
Its a great enemies to lovers, fake engagement, billionaire romance with lots of spicy moments! Full review on my bookstagram and Goodreads.
