Your classic arranged marriage romance. Dante is a broody, alpha male. Vivian, thankfully, had backbone but ultimately wanted to please her parents so let herself be bullied in that respect.
It held my interest, I enjoyed it. I am glad I read it. Not sure it was anything super special (she didn't re-invent the wheel on this genre here) but it also was entertaining. So I would recommend it.
I received this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
-4.75 stars- "She was my one spark of selfishness in a lifetime of reason."
one thing about ms. haung? she gonna hit. every single time. it's no surprise that I loved this, as this book was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. that being said, it exceeded all expectations and has me foaming at the mouth for the rest.
Dante felt like if Christian and Alex had a love child. the man was dark, broody, possessive, quiet, and honestly everything Vivian needed. Vivian felt like a younger sister I wanted to hug - she tried so hard to please her family but at the end of the day, I was truly so proud of her character growth.
Now...the two of them together? absolute dynamite. I ~loved~ that Vivian refused to let Dante walk all over her. there was absolutely no doubt that Dante is a mad down bad. as we know from twisted lies, we know Dante is a jealous man and truthfully it worked in his favor. shout out christian harper for interfering ;)
get ready for allllll of the "my fiancee" comments that we as readers love so much in an arranged marriage!
thank you to bloom books for the arc!
This was a slow burn book which I don't always enjoy but I was head over heels in love with it! The way I felt in love with both Dante and Vivian had me clutched to this book. I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed the character development from both main characters.
Dante and Vivian enter an arrange marriage only to find out they absolutely hate each other. They have to learn to live with each other but how does that happen when they won't even speak to one another! Highly recommend!
Enemies to lovers at its finest!!!! If you read King of Sin, this book focuses on Dante and man oh man it does not dissapoint!!! 5/5 on spice level *chefs kiss*
This is the first book in the Kings of Sin series and is a spin-off of the Twisted series. This story focuses on Dante Russo (who we met in Twisted Lies through Christian) and his fiancée Vivian. Vivian’s father blackmails Dante into an arranged marriage with Vivian, which explains Dante’s cold behavior toward Vivian in Twisted Lies.
Vivian values her independence, but at 29, her parents tell her that they have arranged a marriage for her as she has not found someone suitable to marry yet. She is told she will be moving into Dante’s apartment within two weeks of meeting him. While she is not thrilled to be in an arranged marriage, she expected it to happen eventually, and would like to try and make it work. However, Dante does not have any intention of being cordial or “making it work”. As time goes on, Vivian and Dante grow on each other and Dante needs to decide whether he’d rather get revenge or stay with Vivian.
This was an addictive read and a great enemies to lovers story. I could understand Dante’s hesitation in falling for Vivian, but oh so glad he did. King of Pride comes out in April 2023, and I just don’t know what to do with myself til then.
“How does he look at me?” Janis smiled. “Like he never wants to look away.”
Synopsis: She’s the wife he never wanted…and the weakness he never saw coming. Ruthless. Arrogant. Meticulous. Dante Russo loves being in control, both professionally and personally. Billionaire CEO never planned to marry– until blackmail forces him to become engaged to a woman he barely knows. Engaged to Vivian Lau, jewelry heiress and daughter of his new enemy. She is beautiful and charming, but that doesn’t matter because he will do everything to destroy the evidence and their engagement. The problem is now that he has her…he doesn’t want to let her go. Well-mannered. Elegant. Ambitious. Vivian Lau is the perfect daughter and her family's way into high society. Doors have remained closed because of her family’s new money, but marrying Dante Russo would change that. Dante is rude, arrogant, and far from her dream partner, but out of duty to her family she agrees to their arranged marriage. The thing that was never part of the plan was craving his touch. But her duty to her family and craving his touch is not the worst part: falling in love with her future husband is.
Thoughts: This book was *chefs kiss* I read it in one sitting and wish I had read it sooner! The characters, the plot, writing I loved it all! I CANNOT WAIT for the rest of this series. Vivian is a smart, bad bitch, compassionate, and caring individual. I absolutely loved her. She is what I aspire to be always. Don’t even get me started on Dante… because I could talk about him for hours. Like holy shit… hot as fuck. The way he goes above and beyond for Vivian, the planning dates, speaking in Italian, and becoming a better man for her. Jesus I’d love to have to marry a man like that! I’d enter that arranged marriage happily! He has the dirtiest mouth and it did something to my ovaries I swear! Not only that, a man that literally gets on his knees and begs for forgiveness. That did something for me. The groveling in this book was perfect, I loved that he had to grovel for so long. The tension, the banter, the spice, this book delivered it all and I did not want it to stop!
This book includes:
Arranged marriage
Billionaire CEO x Jewelry heiress
Dislike to love
Hates everyone but her
One bed
Interracial romance
5/5 stars

Thank you Ana Huang, Bloom Books, and NetGalley for providing an arc for an honest review.
I love this book by Ana, from the first chapter, I was enamoured with the relationship between Vivian and Dante. You can see slowly throughout the book, how Dantes image of Vivian, slowly changes, and how he slowly falls in love, and then the end completely changes his view of her, and defends her against the one thing that he held against her another great book can’t wait for the second in the series
I loved this one so much that I finished it in less than 24 hours. Vivian and Dante’s story had me gasping, blushing, and raging all at the same time. Ana Huang writes spicy romance with depth so well. I absolutely recommend King of Wrath!
Dante is a CEO and workaholic. When he is blackmailed into an arranged marriage, he creates a plan to make the blackmailer feel his wrath. What he doesn’t plan on is his arranged marriage becoming a love match.
Vivian finds her strength though her relationship with Dante. Her growth throughout the novel had me cheering for her! I loved her strength and ability to reflect on wealth and fame.
Thank you so much to Bloom Books for my ARC!
I was so glad to hear King of Wrath continued in the same world as the Twisted series! I loved the arranged marriage/enemies to lovers themes throughout. And of course, Ana Huang walks the reader through great character development for Vivian and Dante while throwing in some great spice!
I was really apprehensive about reading this book since the most popular series for this author seems pretty dark and twisted (ha), which is not my cup of tea. But I liked the blurb and was ready to give it a try.
I really loved this book. Both leads are very strong without being overwhelmingly stubborn. Both say smart and stupid things. Both have to put the other in their place and both have to feel pain from their actions and the consequences. Each keeps card close to the vest, but also don't wait the entire book to finally be honest. I found the balance here to be mostly perfection.
Side characters are present that I found are from the previously mentioned series. I didn't have a problem with being in the dark from having missed reading those. The nod to those characters and their stories is subtle.
I so look forward to seeing Dante and Viviane's friends getting some stories in this series.
Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable enemies to lovers, arranged marriage romance. Vivian and Dante had great chemistry and I loved the fire between them. This story is written well and was filled with lots of drama and some good angst.
My biggest issue with this story was I didn't like how Vivian let everyone in her life walk all over her. She had no problem giving her opinion to Dante and standing up to him, but she was essentially a doormat where everyone else was concerned. My other issue with this story was that some of the scenes felt repetitive like we take two steps forward and one thousand back, mostly over stupid misunderstandings.
This book has been on my tbr for quite a while, and while it wasn't a 100% hit for me, I'm still glad to check it out. I think this author has some excellent potential and I'm looking forward to checking out more from her in the future.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
If you are a fan of this authors Twisted Love series, this book does not disappoint. It has all the drama and romance that you’d expect plus you get to hear from Christian again. It’s definitely a fun read and keeps you interested the whole time.
This is my first book from this author, and it won't be my last. This story was an absolutely delightful read that left me looking forward to reading Kai and Isabella's story. The characters in this story were wonderful, even the one's I found myself later disliking. I enjoyed the parts they played in this story. I absolutely loved Vivian and Dante. Their back-and-forth banter was entertaining, funny and sweet. Their arranged marriage might have started with hate but turned into love and it was such a wonderful journey. I hated how Vivian found out the truth about everything, but I was happy that Dante didn't let his and Francis vengeance keep him and Vivian apart, and that he was man enough to fix his mistakes. I hoped that Francis would come around in the end but to be honest it didn't bother me one way or another how things ended with him in the story, it truly was his loss on a great day. This story had it's funny, sweet and steamy moments but it also had so much more and ended with a lot of love. It's the type of story that leaves you feeling good after reading it. I will definitely be recommending this story to all of my romance loving friends.
I enjoyed this book even though I felt the plot was predictable. I liked seeing some characters from the Twisted Series from another viewpoint. Dante and Vivian are thrust into an arranged marriage even though neither wants it. Over time their relationship changes and they both become torn. I feel because I read the Twisted Series and had a little insight into Dante and Vivian I was hooked. This book had just the right amount of spice to it. I'm excited to see what happens in the next book.
This was my first time reading a book by Ana Huang and I can say that I really like how she writes. I absolutely love billionaire romance novels so this was a no brainer read for me. The only thing that I didn't really love about this book was that the main female character also came from money. For me, there's nothing better than reading about a woman with similar economic status to me being seduced by a billionaire. I will definitely be recommending this book and I will be reading the other books in the series.
ANA HUANG IS EVERYTHING! I love her twisted series and when we got the preview for this couple at the end of that, I was thrilled! This book absolutely met all expectations I had (and there were a lot). I love marriage of convenience and I can't wait to read more from this world!!
10/10 would recommend it. I swear these novels written by Ana Huang are cracked, it's so good, I thank every god and goddess that had blessed her mind, she has me in a chokehold when it comes to her books. it hits every single time. What is there not to like? amazing MMC characters that have incredible depth and a "touch her and you won't live to another being in your life again" trope, an arranged marriage built on blackmail, and such angst with a mix of groveling. This book knows how to wrap your heart and string you along because I was hooked for the ride. This novel was immaculate. it is a chef's kiss.
This book focuses on Vivian, a new money jewelry heiress, and Dante, an old money luxury goods tycoon, and their arranged marriage - orchestrated by Vivian’s father blackmailing Dante. I thought this was overall a really fun book with a wide cast of characters that I’d love to see again. There was a good deal of trauma that everyone had to unpack and heal from before the HEA, and the story felt very realistic having the relationship go through ups and downs over the course of a year rather than a two week span. I didn’t love the manipulation aspect, thought everyone could’ve used a LOT of therapy, and wasn’t the hugest fan of the violence since it seemed a little pointless in the plot.
much better than the last ana huang l’OM I read that’s for sure but still unoriginal and felt like a Wattpad story!
Ana Huang does it again! If you liked the twisted series you will really enjoy this new series. I am already patiently waiting for book #2!
This book follows an arranged marriage and all the drama that comes with it! There is lots of spice but also some really tender moments! I am seven months pregnant so maybe thats why but i did have a little tear slip out at one point!
There is a lot of character growth which I love! Its also fun to jump into the lives of the rich and famous!
This is was a fun and easy read!
