What a wild ride! This book has so many layers, and yet it is just fun reading. it reminds me of an old Mission Impossible episode, complete with disguises and villains in plain sight, as well as in the shadows. And being set in a Santa Barbara on a film set, you get the beautiful and romantic mental images of the Southern California Coast and Hollywood influences. If you are looking for a travel read for the plane or beach, this is a good choice. It is part of a series and I have not read any of the other books, but I did not feel lost. From the very first page, you just jump on and hold on tight.
I have been a Stone Barrington fan for a long time and wondered how a whole book could be centered around Teddy Fay. And now with this 6th book, I know it will work. Teddy is so suave and a master of a "thousand" disguises.. With Woods signature short chapters that grab you from the get-go, I would definitely recommend this as a weekend weed.
Whoa does this book ever take you on wild ride in a sports car.
Who’s the villain? Who’s that guy? So many cool disguises and surprise.
I’ve never read a book by Stuart’s Woods and Brett Battles but after this great mystery and the ride it took me on. I will be running to get some more of these books.
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Teddy is on the set of his latest movie when a kidnapping happens. Many twists and turns. A very good read.
I've read several books by Stuart Woods and have always found them to be fast paced, interesting and hard to put down. This one was no different. The addition of Brett Battles didn't change anything. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
When I first got this book I did not realize it was number book in a series so I think I was thrown with not reading the previous books. It starts with one man having several identities which for me was hard to keep up with. It’s a nice little double agent /ex-CIA story. It has kidnapping, old vendettas, revenge and a clever agent on the job. The story was just alright for me maybe reading the other books first I would have a different opinion of the this book.
This is the 6th book in the Teddy Fay series. Was a fun easy read. Enjoy the adventures of Teddy Fay, Peter Barrington and Dino Bacchetti.
Thank you NetGalley for a preview of this novel. This is part of a series of Teddy Fay, which I hadn't read before. At first I was overwhelmed with all the characters, figuring things out, who is who. But eventually I did and I enjoyed the CIA/Double Agent type story, it was fun.It has lots of spy elements that I don't usually encounter in my reading. It was a decent, fun story.
Obsession by Stuart Wood/Brett Battles
Teddy Fay finds his skills put to the test in this latest thriller by the author, Stuart Woods.
I found this novel hard to follow scenes changing from movie sets to kidnapping. Too many characters.
Thanks to Net Galley for sending me an advanced reader’s copy for my review.
Yay! Another fun, exhilarating Teddy Fay story from Stuart Woods and Brent Battles. Obsession is exactly that as Teddy / Mark / Billy chase down not one but two exciting plots. A quick read that moves along at a breath-taking pace.
Thanks to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Putnam for the opportunity to read this ARC.
Intially when I read this book it was a bit challenging to keep up with all the characters .I mean one man had three identities alone 😂 and one of those identities had a close enough name to another character. However. Once I was able to manage them all, I was able dive straight into the story..
It’s a nice little double agent/ ex CIA story . It has kidnapping , old vendettas, revenge and a cool and clever agent on the job. This was my first introduction to the Teddy Fay series, and I think fans of this series will love this new addition.
My first impression when I started reading this book was that I was never going to be able to keep track of all the names and their roles/identities. Teddy, Matthew, and so many others were all pretty well developed characters and all had a lot going on. The story was good and the book was enjoyable to read once all the people, places and things settled into place. Missing person, movie set, mansions and foreigners. Very far fetched, similar to a James Bond storyline but still a good mystery and engaging. I liked the book but am only giving it three stars because I had too many eye rolls at how Teddy’s personas were so I realistic. Just not my kind of thing I guess.
This is a pretty typical Stuart Woods even with the contributions of the co-author Brett Battles. Teddy Fay remains pretty unbelievable with antics verging on ridiculous. I think I'm ready for a Stuart Woods book that harkens back to his earlier novels which had substantial depth and edge of your seat excitement.
This is another in the excellent Stone Barrington series. One of the more interesting characters that emerged in this series is Teddy Fay. He is a master at disguise and a former CIA agent. While the book focuses on Teddy, other beloved characters make appearances. The story line is engaging and the intertwining of two plot lines makes it hard to put down.
Obsession is the 6th book in Stuart Woods' Teddy Fay series; it was coauthored by Brett Battles. I have been a fan of Woods for many years enjoying this series, the Stone Barrington series and his Holly Barker
novels. There is no doubt that he is a prolific writer, yet I feel as though his more recent works have become a bit stagnant and predictable. Obsession is a satisfying read, however the number of times Teddy Fay, ex-CIA operative, changed personnas to Mark Weldon., Academy award winning actor to Billy Barnett, film producer stretched the imagination. Teddy is hired to help locate and return Rebecca Novak, wife of tech billionaire. The story moves along at a fairly quick base, and features many of Woods' characters his readers have come to know: Stone and Peter Barrington, Mike Freeman, CEO of Strategic Services and Ben Bachetti, owner of Centurian Studios. I received an ARC of this book; that in no way impacted my review.
I love Stuart Wood’s books and have been a fan for many years. I enjoyed this book, but was a little confused by the main character swapping identities. But will remain a loyal fan!!!

Welcome to the dark side of the TV/movie industry and the gangsters of today as they come up against the likes of chameleon/former CIA operative Teddy Fay. A good and exciting read!
I requested and received an EARC from PENGUIN GROUP Putnam/G.P. Putnam's Sons via NetGalley. Thank you!
Set in Hollywood, the inimitable Teddy Fay outdoes himself hunting down an actress' kidnapper and foiling a stalker's attempt to kill a movie producer.
The Stone Barrington series has become comfortable. You start a story, and you know you’ll be entertained. This entry fits right in. With Teddy as the main character this time, there enough twists and turns to keep you guessing and keep you reading.
This book had me confused at beginning with changes of character / disguises. After I got further into story I figured out what was going on. I enjoyed this book and appreciate NetGalley / author for letting me read galley.
