A small town, starting over with second chances and swoon-worthy chemistry abound in Rescuing Her Ranch, the first novel in the Stone River Ranch series, which looks like it’ll be featuring the close knit Stone family. The series kicks off with Macey Stone, a character that you can’t help but root for. After dealing with an embarrassing end to a nannying job, Macey finds herself back home in Colorado, and in front of her ex-best friend, Cole, the last place she wanted to be.
Cole is all around a great guy with a wonderful heart and admirable drive and determination. The feelings between Cole and Masey are obvious, but past hurts make things complicated, not to mention the current situation they find themselves in. Is anything ever easy in life? It seems like the more they try to stay away from one another the more the universe wants them together, but that means facing old wounds, and fighting to do what is right in the face of adversity.
This novel seriously has all the feels, and then some. Cole’s daughter Lexi was definitely a bright spot, and the perfect balance to the drama that is swirling around, especially when its comes to Cole’s uncle Wallace. Seeing Cole, Macey, and Lexi together, as well as the whole Stone family, was truly heartwarming. Faith and family are abundant, and you can’t help but root for these characters and crave to see that happily ever after. Reading this novel gets me so excited about this series, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for the Stone family!
One of my greatest reading joys is starting a new series, and I’m thrilled to have read author Lisa Jordan’s Rescuing Her Ranch. It’s the first book in her new Stone River Ranch series. There’s a passel of Stone siblings, and I can only hope we get a book for each one.
Macey Stone is back home in Aspen Ridge, Colorado, driving all night from Denver after a disastrous and humiliating end to her nannying job. Hours after arriving home, she finds herself the last place she wants to be - on the doorstep of Cole Crawford to watch his sweet little girl, Lexi.
Cole was her best friend, but he didn’t stand up for Macey at their high school prom a decade earlier, and she’s avoided him ever since. Cole works for his uncle as a property developer, and his uncle wants part of the Stone River Ranch land. What Wallace Crawford wants, he usually gets, by whatever means necessary.
But what happens when you have a code of ethics and your uncle/employer doesn’t? What happens when you realize the former best friend is turning into the woman you love, but you are on opposite sides where her family’s land is concerned? Cole doesn’t want to pursue getting Stone land, but he needs benefits for his daughter’s medical condition, and Lexi has to come first.
Despite all the obstacles, the question really becomes, “What happens when you stop trying to run the show and turn your burdens over to the Lord?” It’s amazing how a tangled web becomes unknotted when you let the Lord be the weaver.
You will love this sweet story, plus it has an epilogue! I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.
Rescuing Her Ranch by Lisa Jordan is the first in her new series Stone River Ranch. Coming home is never easy, but that's exactly what Macey Stone does after losing her job. She shows up at her family home Stone River Ranch. Somehow (ok she's was doing her sister a favor), she winds up taking care of her old ex-best friend Cole Crawford's little girl. Unfortunately, Cole works for his uncle who is a property developer. This property developer has his eyes set on a part of Stone River Ranch. Cole who is now starting to develop feelings again for Macey finds himself at odds. He needs to take care of his little girl by keeping his job, but he feels wrong while he is pursuing the land his uncle wants. What will happen to Macey and Cole?
I loved this book. I love series especially clean faith based series set in small towns. Add in some cowboys and cowgirls and it's a perfect plot. I'm hoping the series will be about each of the Stone Siblings. I enjoyed getting to know them a little bit. This book really has all the feels. I know I teared up a time or two. Of course, every book makes me cry. LOL. It had an epilogue which I appreciate. I think it just pulls the whole book together. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the Stone River Ranch series. I hope you will give this one a chance, so you can find out what ends up happening to Cole & Macey. I was given a copy of this book, but all. opinions are my very own!
I didn’t realize how much I enjoy stories with childhood friends reconnecting and falling for each other until I read Rescuing Her Ranch by Lisa Jordan.
After an unfortunate situation at a job she loved, Macey is cautious. But being at home surrounded by family and other familiar faces, she starts to relax. Until she learns her family is in jeopardy of losing some of their land to a development—the area with a lot of family history that Macey loves.
Cole has the potential to be an unlikable hero, but Jordan does an excellent job of making reader sympathetic. You can’t help but root for a guy who only has his little girl’s best interest at heart. Even when that means doing the wrong thing.
Getting to know Macey and her siblings as well as other community of Aspen Ridge, Colorado was, for the most part (less one resident in particular), was a joy. I look forward to returning to this place and people in future books.

Rescuing Her Ranch is book one in the Stone River Ranch series. This clean, uplifting romance was about forgiveness, love, second chances, family and faith.
This small town inspirational story had great characters, close knit family, nice story setting, and tough real life situations; but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. I don’t really enjoy stories whose characters focus on the past and harbor ill will for years and can’t move on.
I still enjoyed getting to know the Stone family and Macey, Cole and Lexi.
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
I have only read Lisa Jordan a few times before but I am sure glad I took a chance and picked up RESCUING HER RANCH.
Lisa Jordan instantly hooked me and pulled me right in from the very first page and never let me go. Hang on tight! It is going to be a very crazy and bumpy ride. After things go south with her Nanny job through no fault of her own, Macey goes home. She is back to take care of her old high school friend’s daughter. Cole Parker and Macey departed under intense and crazy circumstances back then, but Macey is determined not to let that get in the way of taking care of Lexi. Now what could possibly go wrong with this arrangement?
RESCUING HER RANCH shows how Cole lets God back into his life, something that has sorely been lacking. He learns that when we turn ourselves over to God anything is possible. I highly recommend this book for readers who enjoy clean reads with true to life characters. Lisa Jordan grabs her readers by the heart and never lets them go. Cole finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. He wants to prove to Macey that she can trust him, but at the same time he is still working for his ruthless uncle. His uncle is trying to buy some of Macey’s family land right out from underneath them and Cole doesn’t seem to be able to win either way. Love Inspired books are so perfect when you want to escape the real world.
If you are looking for a heart tugging read that is filled with troubling times, but still fills you with hope, please take a chance and read RESCUING HER RANCH. It is so real that you need to keep the tissues close by because your emotions are going to be on one crazy roller coaster ride. All the characters in RESCUING HER RANCH are very relatable and not perfect at all. You can’t help but feel each emotion that they are dealing with. When one of them was happy, I was happy. When Macey was crying, I was crying too. I love when an author does that to their readers. I truly was an emotional mess after reading this heart tugging story. Now that I have read RESCUING HER RANCH and discovered just how much I love Lisa Jordan, I’m excited to read more of this new series, Stone Creek Ranch. I hope we will learn more about Macey’s brothers. They both seem like they have heart breaking stories to tell. Once you finish devouring this story, you are going to want to tell everyone you know about this awesome book.

I love a good romance. Knowing that the romance is clean and wholesome makes it a romance I can finish! Too many times I can remember starting a book that I thought would be amazing only to get a quarter of the way in and invested just to find out that it was not as clean a read as I thought and having to put it down.
In fact, every book with the Love Inspired logo you can know is going to be a great read but also a clean Christian read that even my young adults love reading. And I love knowing that I don’t have to pre-read them all. But, I should admit that I do read them all first because I love them too!
I have to admit I read the description for this book and my immediate thought was why can’t she have both? Why can’t she have her ranch and love? Now I’m not saying she does or does not get both but this is a wonderful book!
This book read quickly and kept me entertained. No suspense or mystery to be found though there is enough plot and movement that you won’t get bored.
I loved Lexi!
Here’s to hoping that this is the first in a long series of Stone family books! It is book one after all!

I absolutely loved Rescuing Her Ranch by Lisa Jordan. I also love the fact that it is the first book in a brand new series, Stone River Ranch. If the remaining books in the series are as wonderful as Macey Stone’s story, it’s bound to become one of my favorite series!
I really enjoy reading books in the Love Inspired line because they are clean romance books, and they’re Christian inspirational books. You know that faith in God will play an important role in resolving issues the characters may have. I know that my faith in God brings me peace even though I may not always get the outcome I desire. God always has something bigger in mind.
That’s what happens to Macey in Rescuing Her Ranch. I’m sure that Macey never dreamed she would leave her job as a nanny under awful circumstances. Questioning God when something like this happens in completely normal. Macey had no idea that God had something, and someone, amazing in mind for her future and that leaving her dream job would work out for her good. When her family’s ranch is in danger of having a part taken away, her faith is once again shaken. Isn’t that just like us? We see God work in miraculous ways, but the next crisis we face, we panic again! Lisa Jordan wrote Macey’s story in such an outstanding way. Rescuing Her Ranch reminded me that I’ve got to believe that God’s got “this”…whatever current “this” we’re going through.
I think you’ll love these wonderful characters as much as I did. I am excited to read what happens to Macey’s siblings in future books. Whatever crises they face, I am sure Jordan will do an amazing job of showing how God gets them through.
I highly recommend Rescuing Her Ranch because of its wonderful characters, breathtaking setting, and faith building story. You will love it!
I enjoyed this first book of the new Stone Creek Ranch series. There were a few characters that were introduced in this novel as side characters, whose back stories hint at becoming future books and I look forward to reading those!
This second chance, underdog story was an opportunity for two friends who had a falling out at the end of high school to perhaps reconcile and become something more. However, nothing was quite so easy and straight forward.
I enjoyed watching Macey and Cole grow closer and the way they both loved Cole’s daughter, Lexi. The dynamic between the three of them was sweet and made me hope they could find a way to becoming a family, even as that sometimes seemed impossible with the machinations of Cole’s powerful uncle between them.
This was an enjoyable, small town story and I look forward to returning to this community in future books.

I thought this was a good story. I liked how Macey and Cole had to decide what was right and go for it no matter the consequences. I liked how even though they were on the opposite sides of an issue at first, in the end they worked together to do what was right. I also liked the romance between them. I like how it took getting over past hurts and strengthening their friendship before they could be a couple. I thought this was a good story with believable characters. I also thought the story was easy to read and was believable. I also liked how the bad guy got what he deserved in the end. I would recommend this book to others if you want an uplifting, sweet romance.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
There is so much against Macey Stone and Cole Crawford renewing their friendship, but when Macey returns to her family's ranch and is called on to care for Cole's daughter, they might just have a chance for that and more. Continually thrown together, while a conflict of interest drives them apart, this is a small town romance that holds the reader’s interest and may just touch their heart.
With themes of faith and family, this story touches on serious issues and questions while introducing a cast of characters that will leave you wanting the next book in the Stone River Ranch series. If contemporary small town inspirational romance is your cup of tea, Lisa Jordan’s Rescuing Her Ranch will tick a lot of boxes for you.

Starting over is hard to do, but it just might bring this cowgirl home.
Macey is shocked to find that her old friend's uncle is set on turning her family's ranch into a mini-mart, will the land conflict get in the way of her growing feelings for Cole. An engaging small town romance, with themes of second chances and starting over. I liked how Macey took time to get to know Lexi, and comes to care for her deeply, while reconnecting with Cole. I also liked her close knit family and how they were all supportive of each other.
Cole is a good man in a tough spot, he wants to be a good father to his daughter and be able to provide for her, but as a result he has a decision to make. He is a hardworking man in a tough spot, and I liked seeing the relationship between Cole and Macey develop.
Overall, an enjoyable read with characters that you can root for throughout. Great plotline and wonderful setting, I look forward to reading more books in the series.
