This very fun story is about Merlynda and her twin brother Percy who, as descendants of the magician Merlyn, are expected to be the next great thing in magic. Merlynda is a disaster at magic, so everyone is expecting Percy to be the next big thing. Except that it turns out that Merlynda is chosen. Percy disappears and Merlynda sets off on a quest to find him. This is equal parts scary and funny with creepy monsters that sometimes behave in ways that are completely hilarious (when they aren't trying to kill you). I think kids are going to like this one a lot.

Pick up this book if you’re a fan of underdog stories, siblings and beating the odds. Takes a new approach on Arthurian legend by focusing on the descendants of Merlyn, so there’s a lot of play with the story. Curious where this series is headed next!
