I did not have a chance to read this book, but it is effecting my feedback rating. I am giving books 5 stars that I haven't read to improve my feedback rating. I am not recommending the book for my classroom or students since I have not read the book. There needs to be a better system of leaving feedback for books not read.

I received a free copy from NetGalley. Main character is an ex TV script writer who has a dark secret so she's nearly hit bottom as an addict but instead of hitting bottom her life gets a purpose when her ex-step-daughter goes missing. Lots of stereo types and action. Current topics. I liked the ending.

Thrillers can fall flat but this one is so fun! What a ride! Good plotting and action. Enjoyed this one a lot!

'Coldwater' is a very dark, very noir novel about a missing step-daughter who is swallowed up by the L.A machine. The main character looks unlikeable on the page-an addict with dark secrets whose selfishness blinds her to what her family needs, finally finds the strength to seek atonement for her past in trying to rescue Julia before she is consumed. Fully fledged characters, very intense plotting and a 'got to see this to the end 'pacing that will have you reading all night!
