While this was a super quick read, I think it was ultimately forgettable. For starters, the side characters were better than our main characters and the romance was nothing extraordinary. I found the writing to be a bit repetitive which was really offputting for me. I do think that others might enjoy this more than I did because I have found that celebrity romances aren't usually my favorite. Another thing that didn't really land for me was the humor. I have a hard time with humor in books personally and it either really works or REALLY doesn't and unfortunately in the case of this book, it fell a bit flat.
3-3.5. this book was truly middle of the road romance for me. Nothing was super wow worthy but it wasn’t terrible either. The romance itself was fine, but I did find myself getting bored here and there. It does get some extra points for having a lot of different representations in this book (queer, NB, plus size, etc) and it’s excellent handling of how difficult friend relationships can be. I liked all of the characters. So it had the makings of a great book but the romance just fell a little flat.
Thank you NetGalley for the preview of For Her Consideration.
This book had a great aunt/niece relationship with a story of a love life and figuring it all out. Overall I would rate this book a 4/5.
I enjoyed this book, but I feel like it could've benefited more if it had a different narrator. That really is my only critique as the story was good, I just couldn't really get into the narrator. I would definitely read a paper or digital copy of this book to give it another chance though. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book in exchange for my honest review!

Such a cute sapphic rom-com. I loved the banter and secretive relationship elements. The narration was wonderful in exploring the depths of the characters throughout the story.
This was good although a bit slow at times and I didn’t feel as strong of a connection to the characters as I was hoping but it was a solid middle of the road read
Thank you, NetGalley, publishers, and Amy Spalding for gifting me a copy of For Her Consideration in return for my honest review.
3/5 stars
Since a crushing breakup three years ago, Nina Rice has written romance, friends, her dreams of scriptwriting for TV, and even LA proper out of her life. Instead, she’s safely out in the suburbs in her aunt’s condo working her talent agency job from home, managing celebrity email accounts, and certain that’s plenty of writing—and plot—for her life. But a surprise meeting called by Ari Fox, a young actress on everyone’s radar, stirs up all kinds of feelings Nina thought she’d deleted for good . . .
Ari is sexy, out and proud, and a serious control freak, according to Nina’s boss. She has her own ideas about how Nina should handle her emails—and about getting to know her ghostwriter. When she tells Nina she should be writing again, Nina suddenly finds it less scary to revisit her abandoned life than seriously consider that Ari is flirting with her. Between reconnecting with her old crew and working on a new script, a relationship with a movie star seems like something she’ll definitely mess up—but what could be more worth the risk?
This was just an okay read for me. I think if it was told from Ari's point of view I might have enjoyed it. Nina is an annoying character, she was told by an ex-girlfriend that she is a horrible, toxic, and just all-around horrible person. Which naturally killed her esteem and made her into a horrible person. I have no clue what Ari saw in her, there really wasn't a redeeming quality to her. Ari on the other hand while she had her moments was an all-around better character.
I did enjoy how just having a girlfriend didn't magically fix all of Nina's issues. She actually took the steps to grow and by the end was taking accountability for her mistakes and how she treated people. Also, I despise 3rd act break ups and this one was just incredibly stupid, with all the drama already in the book we could have done with out.
I do like the realistic aspects of this book and would recommend to romance lovers.
Absolutely loved the narration!!!
"Thank you so much netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced review copy if this book💗

This works fine as a romance, but I have issues with a few things. No one that lives in Santa Clarita is going to be driving to LA as often as Nina does. With the amount of independent coffee shops in this city, I'm embarrassed at the amount of times she buys chai from Starbucks. At least they didn't say chai tea. Yes, Ari is famous, but there is no need to say her full name every time you're talking about her. There is no parking downtown. Stop telling people there is. With the amount of times they mention Bestia, which is yes, a great restaurant, I hope someone somewhere got paid for the promo.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher.
This was fantastic! I truly enjoyed this story and cant wait to read more from this author! Truly great story.
This was a cute sapphic romance that didn't shy away from the harder parts of life. I had a little trouble getting into the story at first, but once I was in, I enjoyed every second of it.
The chemistry between Nina and Ari was incredible. However, when Nina's insecurities took up more room in the story, this too easily drifted from a romance to a women's fiction novel. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean this isn't a mindless and happy romance.
I like the narrator for the audiobook very much. You could clearly hear the difference between the characters and their personalities, which sadly isn't always a given with audiobook narrators.
I am not a fan of Spalding's previous work so I picked this one a with a bit of trepidation. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the storyline, the supporting characters, and how respectful Ari was. Nina did get on my nerves sometimes, but her ex really did a number on her so it was understandable.
Tropes: crush your lover, re-found family, LGBTQ+, body positivity
I was torn on liking this book however I did relate to how the main character reacted to some of her issues.
In the beginning she is broken up with and handed a list of things that need to be “fixed” I would definitely close myself avoid and treat myself as though I was a toxin.
The finding yourself again, found family, coming of age story was more about accepting flaws and accepting yourself. The right people for you will love you with and because of the flaws that others may avoid you for.
Overall very warm story and made me think about flaws that have been brought up for myself
Nina has spent the years after a devastating breakup writing emails on behalf of celebrities instead of writing TV scripts. But when celebrity Ari Fox, wants Nina to get to know her to write emails that sound more like Ari, Nina's life begins to expand from reuniting with her friends to a growing romance with Ari.
Nina's lack of confidence and self negativity was so painful in a terribly relatable way.
I loved this book so much. The characters felt real and fully developed; the situations felt relatable. The romance was exciting and fresh and also sweet. I read it so quickly because it was SO GOOD, and I can't wait to sit down and read it again to savor every sentence!!!
I received an advanced audio copy of For Her Consideration by Amy Spalding from the publisher RB Media via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
What It’s About: Since a crushing and toxic breakup three years ago, Nina Rice has disappeared from the bustle of her LA life including her friends, scriptwriting for TV, and any chance of romance out of fear of hurting other people. Nina has a job where she manages client email’s for a local talent agency. But when Ari Fox, a young actress on everyone’s radar, is unhappy with the emails and tries to get to know her and as they connect, Nina finds herself connecting with Ari and engaging with life more than she has in the past three days.
What I Loved: Oh, I really enjoyed this one, I read another sapphic romance set in Hollywood recently and didn’t enjoy it as much so this book just delivered for me so much. I loved the chemistry between Nina and Ari, watching their relationship build was really rewarding and finding these two souls connecting was delightful. I loved the found family aspect of this book, the group of friends are just really lovely and I wanted to hang out with this group, please take me to Palm Springs with this crew. I loved the connection Nina had with her great aunt and the retirement community, I love a good crew of elderly friends!
What I Didn’t Like: Okay, so Nina is dealing with a lot of trauma and depression from her bad break-up that she hasn’t processed. This depression has made her isolated and she has isolated herself to protect others and her hurting others to protect them is hard to read and at times we watch her take a lot of blame for stuff that isn’t hers and this often allows other characters to get away with more than they should. And this made the last I suppose twenty percent a bit harder to read.
Who Should Read It: People who are looking for a fun Hollywood sapphic romance. People who love famous-nonfamous person trope.
Summary: Nina has been living in isolation but a work related disaster allows her life to bloom again.
this was different. not in a bad way but also not in a good way. I just wasn't expecting it. I did enjoy it and would recommend if you like the synopsis.
I devoured this book. I’m so mad that it took me so long to read it. I felt so at home with these characters. The romance was swoony and sweet.
The narration was absolutely fantastic. Chef’s kiss!
Recommended if you like:
-celeb/non-celeb romance
-found family trope
-plus size rep
-Hollywood setting
Thank you to NetGalley and RB Media for my ALC copy. For Her Consideration is out now!
Refreshing storyline and characters compared to the traditional romance. I also really like the Hollywood setting/vibe.
Overall an enjoyable read. I like the characters (for the most part, some of the friends weren't my favorite).
However it did take me a while to get through. I wouldn't say it was a quick read. I think I struggled with it because of the whole miscommunication plot. I HATE the miscommunication trope, it's just unnecessary drama and overused. I think I would have enjoyed this more if it wasn't for that.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
