Grace Holloway narrowly escapes her kidnapper years ago. She is now the caretaker of an Inn in that same small town in Maine. She keeps to herself until there are more young girls, similar to her in looks and age, disappearing. She likes the solitary life keeping to herself and the off season at the Inn.
Grace becomes entangled in the lives of Aden, the handsome son that is looking for his father who also disappears near where the young girls have been last seen and Kira, the distraught Mother of Brooke, who was last seen at the same place as another young girl and Aden’s father.
The three come together to figure out what is happening and they never expect what is about to unfold and how closely they are all tied together.
This is a very suspenseful and twisty story. I thought it was well written and definitely intertwined many characters within the small town. I would definitely read this author again.
Thank you @netgalley @seraphinanovaglass @harlequin publishers for an electronic book ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) in exchange for an honest review.

This book was GOOOOD!!! It follows a woman who escaped her kidnapper years ago. Now, she works at a motel and keeps completely to herself. That is until there is a missing girl with a story very similar to her own and she finds herself needing to help find her.
This was a quick read, told un multiple viewpoints. I found myself getting attached to some of the characters and was really rooting for some of them to be "good guys". I also found myself changing my mind on who I trusted MULTIPLE times. This book was definitely suspenseful in that I never wanted to put it down. The end of each chapter had me wanting more!
This thriller kept me up all night to finish. This book was heart pounding good!! I loved this.
I just reviewed The Vanishing Hour by Seraphina Nova Glass. #TheVanishingHour #NetGalley

Grace Holloway likes to keep to herself, after escaping from that kidnapped and tried to kill her. Luckily for her that’s easy to do at the small inn that she manages in Rock Harbor, Maine, especially now since it’s the off season. Unfortunately for Grace , Rocky Harbor isn’t the sleepy town she thought it was. There’s someone kidnapping and killing young women, that happen to look like Grace. With a knock at the door, Grace is unwillingly thrusted into participating in the investigation. Can Grace help find the culprit?
This novel weaves together the 3 main characters POVS. Grace, the lone survivor of a serial killer. Aden who has to return to Rock Harbor to find out what happened to his missing father. The last character, Kira a mother determined to find out what happened to her missing daughter, Brooke. I will admit it take me a little bit to adjust to the multiple povs, but once I did, I really enjoyed it. This book is full of twists and turns that keep me guessing to the very end. Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin for giving me an opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion .
It took me a really long time to get through this one. I felt the pacing wasn't all there but the mystery definitely was. I wanted to know how everything connected. There were enough threads that seemed unrelated enough to keep my interest to find out how they were related. I also liked the past history with Grace and how it tied in with the current timeline
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the copy of The Vanishing Hour by Seraphina Nova Glass. The premise of this book sounded really intriguing and I love serial killer books. I’m not sure why I never connected to the writing and thought the different POVs were confusing at first because there seemed to be no connection between the characters and their stories were all so different. Of course it all came together! I think this book will appeal to readers who love a great twist and an inventive story.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Graydon House for a free e-ARC in exchange for my honest review. This will publish May 30th!!
This is my second book by this author and I love her style of suspense, mystery, and twisty thriller writing style. This is the story of a small town haunted by a serial killer that kidnaps and kills its victims who are usually found in the seedy area of this small town where the strip clubs and hookers are working, and all go missing at the same hour, hence the Vanishing Hour.
There are 3 different narrators and I would say that this is a character driven novel. First, we meet Grace, a survivor of the killer as she managed to escape a tragic and horrific death. She is living in constant fear of being kidnapped again. Next we meet Aden, who returns to his hometown and his dysfunctional family when his father goes missing. Last is Kira, a mother who is desperately searching for her missing daughter, Brooke.
When you first begin the book, we meet the three narrators and quickly come up to speed on the chaos that their lives have become are as they try to search for their missing loved ones or hide out from the killer. Their frustration, anxiety and stress is almost palpable. The way these three storylines merge and come together was clever and very well done. The character development and writing is such that I was completely engrossed and finished this in one day.
This is a fast read. I did not have things totally figured out before the ending reveal which is always the sign of a strong thriller for me! I was shocked at the ending and the identity of the killer! Highly recommend!!
Wow! This book was so fast-paced and addictive to read. The story follows Grace, who once escaped her captor after being kidnapped years ago. Since then, she has isolated herself and rarely leaves the inn she runs. However, now more girls are going missing and Grace becomes involved for the search for the truth once it becomes apparent that the circumstances are far too similar to her own kidnapping. The multiple points of view were all intriguing to read from, and I quickly became attached to all of the characters. Once picking this up, I did not want to put it down! The writing style was both suspenseful and emotional, and made you want to keep reading until you got to the very end! Highly recommend this thriller.
Thank you to the publisher and net galley for the opportunity to read this arc.
I overall rate this story a 3/5. The plot was a bit all over the place- around 50% it made since who the killer was to me- so it was just waiting for everything to fall into place. The plot was a 3 but the writing was a 5- I enjoyed her writing!
Hour, I couldn't rule anyone out, as everyone seemed a suspect, yet seemingly no one at all. Consequently, the mystery and plausible solutions are engaging and suspenseful.
The Vanishing Hour By Seraphina Nova Glass- Audiobook And Final Thoughts
The audiobook of The Vanishing Hour is produced exceptionally, with all points of view labeled and clear (except when purposely not labeled because... mystery). Brittany Pressley always nails the assignment as a narrator. However, in The Vanishing Hour, she nailed the extra credit.
At one point, I wondered if Brittany Pressley purposely shredded her voice to bring across specific scenarios and actions with acute believability. She was purposed with nailing a female, male, captured, and capturer. Each one is done absolutely brilliantly. If Brittany Pressley didn't purposefully shred her throat, I imagine recording this audiobook did the job.
Thank you Net Galley for this ARC!!
Read this in 1 day, Seraphina Glass Nova definitely pulls you in!! Another of her books I just loved!!
Ever since being abducted, Grace has kept to herself. That changes when women that look like her start to go missing. Alternating between three narrators, this delves into attempts to find the missing women and get justice.
I think it took a little to get to the suspense here. It had a little early on, but then Grace and Aden's chapters didn't have quite the suspense like Kira's did. I also found the whodunit pretty predictable, just based on who the narrators were.
Fantastic! I loved this book. Such a fan of this author. This story definitely keeps you guessing. This held my attention and I couldn’t wait to read more. Such a thrill ride! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Not only do I love books set in my beautiful home state of Maine, but I do love a good serial killer/kidnapping tale, and Seraphina Nova Glass weaves a good one, with a pretty shocking ending. Grace is a complex character with reasons to keep herself hidden away, but, once she realizes that she potentially has the key to solving the disappearance of other missing young girls, she courageously makes a decision to change her life. If you weren't a Seraphina Nova Glass fan before, grab a copy of The Vanishing Hour and then binge her entire backlist!
This one sounded great and I was excited to read it, but unfortunately it ended up being just okay. The switching POV's felt clunky, the ending made me roll my eyes, and the kinda romance vibes with Aden and the innkeeper felt random and out of place.
Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Loved this book! Devoured in one sitting. Loved the dynamic and the flow of the story. Thanks for the ARC!
Secrets, secrets, are no fun...
Secrets, secrets, hurt everyone....
The Vanishing Hour is a book full of secrets....and revenge. Disappearance keep happening in one town and it's an entire spider web as to why.
This is a thriller - but it does drag a bit and get confusing with multiple points of view.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This book was really good! So good, in fact, that I spent most of the morning reading it instead of cleaning my house! I just had to know how it was going to end, and as they say, "Never do today what you can put off till tomorrow."
I enjoyed the multiple POVs and all the twists and turns. It would have been a five-star book for me except for the fact that the ending was a little rushed, and I didn't really agree with some of the decisions that the characters made.
Overall, this was a really good thriller, and I highly recommend it! This was my first book by this author, and I'm anxious to read some of her previous novels!
Thank you so much to @netgalley, @htpbooks
and @seraphinanovaglass for the e-arc of this book!
Well, I would summarize the main character's situation as 'out of the frying pan and into the fire'! When she runs from the man who kidnapped her, she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Escaping to Rock Harbor for hiding was like falling down a rabbit hole, because it is a haunted place where young women who look awfully like Grace were taken away many years ago. Unfortunately, she might hold the key to unlocking the doors by delving deeper into the investigation with the secrets she's been keeping for a long time.
This book has an intriguing, heart-throbbing, dark, and sinister plotline. My hopes were too high before diving into this bleak and disturbing journey, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the story's slow-burn progression and the overall execution as much as I enjoyed the author's previous novel. Many things were foreseeable from the beginning, and there was no surprise element or big twist, leaving me lacking the excitement that would have kept me on my toes.
It was a solid but slightly dragging and predictable read. I expected to finish it in one sitting, but it took me a little while to reach the end, and I lost interest in the middle.
Overall, it is still a readable, dark, psychological thriller with good characterization. I wish it could have been a bit more exciting, but I'm still looking forward to reading the author's next book, crossing my fingers that I will enjoy it more than 'Vanishing Hour.'
Many thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/Graydon House for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.
