Fan bloody tactic! I absolutely adored each and every page. I always enjoy Cathy’s books and I have to say they’re getting better with each one she writes.
Liz has lost the best friend she ever had in the world and has secretly been in love with her husband since uni.
When Mike asks to meet with Liz on what would have been Jens Birthday he shocks her by asking to be paid back a debt that she didn’t know her and Jen had. Mike suggests she returns to working in the business her and Jen run. To help with the running he asks her to employ his youngest daughter Skye for the summer.
Sounds like a good plan although his eldest daughter Claire is coming to stay with Liz for the summer.
Half sisters Claire and Skye are immediately at each others throats.
Can Liz help to repair the girls relationship which has never been good.
The Sunrise Sisterhood is full of loyalty and friendship with a sprinkling of love too.
Definitely worthy of my 5 stars.
Thank you NetGalley for an advance copy of my favourite summer read so far.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

This summer fall in love with Cathy Bramley’s hopeful, heartfelt and irresistible new novel, The Sunrise Sisterhood.

The holidays are here and Liz is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her god-daughters, Skye and Clare and Clare’s baby daughter Ivy. Liz cannot wait until the girls get to Salcombe because she is in desperate need of their help. Years ago, Liz had built a catering business with the girls’ late mother, Jen and with times being hard and money being in very short supply, the business is in danger of going under – unless Skye and Clare can help her save it. However, Liz quickly realises that all of them have got quite a challenge on their hands and rescuing the business from the doldrums is going to be an uphill battle she is not sure she is up for.

Half-sisters Skye and Clare are like chalk and cheese. They couldn’t be more different and the more time Liz spends with them, the more she realises that their disagreements are merely a cover for the simmering jealousies and devastating secrets that are weighing her god-daughters down. As shocking truths are revealed and relationships are challenged and tested like never before, this summer promises to be one the three women will remember forever – hopefully for all the right reasons…

Can the business be saved? Will the two sisters manage to heal from the past, lay old ghosts to rest and forge forward into the future? Or will this summer leave them with no other option but to each go their separate ways?

Reading a Cathy Bramley novel is like having a chat with your best friend over a glass of wine and a great big slice of your favourite cake and The Sunrise Sisterhood is definitely no exception. A book that had me laughing out loud and sobbing my heart out, The Sunrise Sisterhood is a spellbinding tale about forgiveness, belonging, second chances and love I couldn’t bear to put down.

With characters who are so real they will feel like old friends by the end of the book, laugh-out loud humour, intense emotion and heart-wrenching pathos, Cathy Bramley’s The Sunrise Sisterhood needs to be in every one’s beach bag this summer.

I absolutely loved this book, it was such a lovely, heartwarming and enjoyable read.
There are some heavy themes in this book, but they are dealt with in a sensitive way. There are also some uplifting moments too, to balance it out.
I loved the characters of Liz, Clare and Skye, they were all very different and I loved reading about how they learnt to help each other.
This is an amazing book, and I highly recommend it. Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

Liz has lost her best friend and business partner. Clare has lost her beloved mother and baby Ivy never got to meet her grandmother. Jen's death has many repercussions and is part of what brings Clare and her half sister Skye to Salcombe for the summer.
These three women are all dealing with their own problems but together they may be able to find solutions and to move on.
Another heart warming story of struggles overcome by love and friendship from Cathy Bramley; a delight as always.

Yet another amazing book by Cathy Bramley. The Sunrise sisterhood is filled with family, friends, heartbreak, love and food. A perfect combination. I want to be friends with Clare, do yoga with Marta, eat one of Liz’s delicious meals and hang around with Skye enjoying life. Loved the story so much, a very worthy 5 star review.

A fabulous read based on the lives of three multigenerational women.
Centre of the book is the mother figure of Liz, following the death of her business partner and friend of over 40 years, Jen. Liz has taken to drinking and is letting her business fail. She needs to pay back Mike - Jen’s ex husband and Dad to Skye and Clare.
Liz needs help to save her catering business in Salcombe from going under and that’s when Skye and Clare step in during the summer to help.
Truths are revealed and relationships are put to the test.
Lots of difficult subjects are handled with empathy - grief, single parenting, loneliness, sexuality and alcoholism.
Show how the three women help each other heal and become the SISTERHOOD.and learn how to be a family.
All strong female characters that are engaging and you want to spend time with them.
Lots of warm summer vibes - creating the perfect ingredients for a fab summer read - get ready to dive in this summer.
Thanks @cathybramley @orionbooks & @netgalley for the eARC

I really loved this. I read into the small hours and again in the early hours when I woke up.

I really bonded with Clare, Skype and Liz. I was so happy when Adam turned up but sad that they had missed Ivy's first year together.

The characters were so real and believable with all their ups and downs on their lives.

Cathy is a great writer and once you start reading you can't stop.

Thankyou

Clare is excited to be spending the summer holidays at the seaside with her daughter and godmother Liz. But when she arrives, she gets more than she'd bargained for, with half sister Skye also in residence. Skye is working for Liz, to help restart her catering business. But things don't go exactly smoothly, with a whole host of skeletons escaping from the closet!

There are some serious issues in the book, but it still makes for an enjoyable read. You become really invested in the fortunes of the three main characters, and rooting for happy endings!

The Sunrise Sisterhood is Cathy Bramley’s latest release where she introduces us to half-sisters Claire and Skye and their godmother Liz. The sisters are far from close and Liz is about to find herself in the middle of them for the Summer, she is looking forward to having their company after the death of her best friend ( Claire’s mum ) but it is set to be a tough few weeks.

The three women each have their own secrets and struggles that they are keeping under wraps but as the storyline develops and the relationships begin to improve they find themselves thrown into situations where each of their secrets come to light but can they let each other in to help and support them?

This novel really focuses on relationships especially between siblings from broken families and the effects they can at times, have on their lives even into adulthood. The author really goes into great depths to show how feeling like you are not as good or as loved as your sibling can shape your life and that sometimes you can’t see things from the other persons point of view too.

I loved all three of our characters and their personalities were all so different so they all brought something different to the storyline. With the chapters all alternating between each of the women we really get to know each of them in turn and also get to see how some things from both sides of the coin so to speak.

The author explores numerous life struggles from grief to deception but the book didn’t feel too heavy it still had a lightness to it thanks to the sprinkling of complicated romances and the slow blossoming relationships building between the sisters and a bucket load of the lovely little Ivy to keep us smiling away. The author has clearly poured her heart and soul into these characters as they all felt so life like and there was a lot of emotion felt through the pages through every challenge or revelation they faced.

Set in the Summer time in Salcombe there is a real beachy holiday vibe so this is the perfect novel to keep you company on your holiday this year.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved this book.

Liz is finding it hard to continue with the business after her friend, who was also her business partner Jen passes away.

Jen’s ex-husband, Mike comes to see Liz and asks for the last a that he gave them when they were staring the business to be paid back to him. Liz, had no idea how she will be able to do that.

Liz then had her God Daughters come to stay with her, both have their own issues from their pasts that they need to work through.

I highly recommend this book.

Cathy can be relied upon to deliver beautiful and comfortable books. This latest one is no exception. Set in Devon, with strong female characters who have encountered different emotions in their lives. Cathy's ability to create a wonderful story is second to none.

Another excellent book from Cathy Bramley. When Liz is forced to return to work to pay off a debt she didn’t know she would have and go back to her catering venture alone following the death of her best friend she’s not sure how she will cope. She is however having her God-daughters staying with her who also happen to be step-sisters. Skye is back from Africa but what is she running from and Claire, a single Mum with a baby, who is used to being independent who both learn valuable lessons along the way. I really enjoyed the fact that all the characters had their imperfections and flaws but together they learned how to move on from the past and understand each other better. This truly is a book about sisterhood and the setting in Salcombe was wonderful too and I could happily imagine sitting on the balcony of Liz’s home looking across the water as the sun rose.
Thank you to Netgalley and Orion Fiction for the advance copy of this book in return for my honest opinion, which is all my own.

I love this author’s books, and what a lovely read this one was. We meet Liz who runs a catering business in Salcombe. However, since her business partner and best friend, Jen died, Liz has lost the enthusiasm to run it. When Liz’s goddaughters, Clare and Skye, come to spend the summer with her, circumstances mean that they decide to get Liz’s catering business back up and running.

This was truly a delightful read full of family, love and life. I loved the characters (yes, even Mike redeemed himself slightly!) and found them likeable and easy to relate to. They all had their flaws, problems and secrets, but these were beautifully dealt with throughout the story with their issues coming to a head and then being resolved as their storylines moved on. The author always writes books which are captivating, and this was no different. I was caught into the storyline very early on and couldn’t put it down until I reached the last page!

This story was the perfect piece of escapism that I needed. I absolutely loved the location of this book, and if the descriptions of glorious Devon didn’t put me in the holiday mood, then the descriptions of Liz’s tantalising food certainly did! There was lots of family drama and secrets, but equally plenty of romance to cheer it up along the way. If you’re looking for a holiday read, look no further! Wonderful!

The Sunrise Sisterhood by Cathy Bramley, a NetGalley read. Liz is Clare and Skye’s Godmother, living in Salcombe where the girls for different reasons have arrived to be with Liz. Clare is fiercely independent, who has a daughter called Ivy and who is still grieving the death of her mother. Skye is back from Uganda but what is she running away from and then there is Liz who has been in love with the girls father for over 40 years, she’s grieving for her best friend and is just lost and drowning in her grief. These three woman help each other heal and find what they are looking for. I’ve read books by this author before, was excited by the cover, it looked like it had all the ingredients to be a great summer read……but and sadly there is a but I didn’t enjoy this at all. For me it felt like it was something I had read before, it lacked something, it lacked that pull that you need from a book, that pull or elusive something that turns it from a good book to a book you can’t get enough of. The setting was beautiful, the characters were good and strong but it was simply a ok and pleasant read, there’s going to be better summer reads out there. Liz’s character grated on me at times with her infatuation with Mike, Skye and Clare’s father, as right from the beginning he comes across as an obnoxious man, full of himself and with the biggest ego, but time and time again Liz seems to push this aside. Another thing for me is the ending and the rebuilding of father daughter relationship between Clare and Mike, the ending seems to come round very quick, the same with Clare forgiving her father. Sadly this missed the mark for me, in a great summer read it gives you the feels, you imagine sitting in the sun, reality fading away and you just immersed in there book, sadly this didn’t happen with this book. I won’t be recommending this book, I think the author has written better nor enjoyable books and I don’t say that lightly, as I always say I hate not be able to write a positive review because the author as worked hard writing it, however there will be people out there that like this book but it just wasn’t for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.

I have read a lot of Cathy Bramley books and enjoyed them. Sadly, however, this isn't one of my favourites. It was an easy summer read but I didn't feel any connection with any of the characters and most of them just annoyed me.

I love Cathy Bramley books and this certainly lives up to expectations. It is a great summer read with three main characters: Liz and her two god-daughters. It's all about relationships, romance, food and beach yoga! It's a really great read that will keep you engrossed right to the very end.

I have given this book 5 stars but would have been 6 if I could. Another great read from Cathy Bramley. I really enjoyed this book. The characters are great focusing on 3 strong women and their story of family and friendship.
The setting is perfect and Salcombe bay sounds idyllic. Each of the women have their own story which interlinks with the other 2 and then there is Mike who is finding it hard to grow old gracefully.
I love all the other characters too, especially the 2 old ladies (Patrick’s mother and Aunt).
A fabulous read and highly recommended.
