This is a delightful fit for readers who crave a lighthearted, humorous romance with a strong focus on emotional growth, second chances, and the transformative power of love, making it a perfect pick for fans of feel-good, swoony stories.
Steamy read and nee to me author.
I couldnt get into this one no matter how much i tried, unfortunately. i think maybe if i read it at another time i could. It has a lot of potential
I enjoyed this one! New to me authors are my favorite to explore and this one was no different. I look forward to reading more from Leslie.
This book was ok. It wasn’t my favorite book but I don’t think I was The target audience and I think That others would enjoy this book. I would recommend this to my friends and I would read another book by this author but this wasn’t for me.
I enjoyed this book. It took some time get into as I was new to smut on books. It was great 👍🏻 still one to try out for others
Well written but didn't give me a single grumpy vibe. James was an overworked great dad, falls into instalove with Kaitlyn. Where is the grumpiness? I needed some grousing and brooding and stomping around with a title like this. The story was interesting but it didn't match the title.
Thanks so much to netgalley for the ebook in exchange for my honest review.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Kaitlyn and James. Kaitlyn is going for her PHD. James has several nightclubs. When they meet there is an instant attraction. James hires Kaitlyn to help his four year old daughter. She is having nightmares after being kidnapped by her nanny. Kaitlyn help Harper, James’ daughter to have coping skills. Kaitlyn and James have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.
A hot and steamy friends to lover's romance that is hot!! My favourite was the daughter and I really enjoyed the relationship dynamics. A quick read.
Mr. Grump (Billionaire Bossholes #1). By Leslie North. 2023. Relay Publishing (ARC eBook).
I’ve been wanting to read North for a while, and overall Mr. Grump did not disappoint. It was written well with plenty of steamy romance and sweet family moments. I look forward to continuing the series.
I loved reading how Kaitlyn and James romance blossomed from friends to lovers and trust that brought into their relationship.
A little bit of spice along the way made this book even better!
Kaitlyn met James during her sister’s hen night at a swanky night club. She thought James work at the club and they end up spending the night together before James ushered her away and disappeared after receiving a call. James’ main priority was his precious daughter and he will do everything to protect her. Due to a kidnap episode, his daughter, Harper is paranoid to leave their home and to help his daughter to overcome her fear and getting her back to the once happy carefree child, James engaged a therapist and she turned out to be Kaitlyn. Both of them need to work together to help Harper.
Kaitlyn is the main character of the book with her family drama and James’ life revolved around his daughter and business and it come as a surprised to him when he felt the instant spark to her. Kaitlyn’s character is more open and able to articulate well her concerns and fear while James come across as a grumpy character (hence the title of the book) and can easily jump into conclusion and rush to judgment when come to his daughter’s wellbeing. Love the character’s chemistry and the storyline which are very engaging. Absolutely love the way James declared his love to Kaitlyn at the end of the story. Overall it is an enjoyable read to me.
James and Katie met first at a bachelorette party and she spills a drink on him. Turns out that he is her boss the next day when she arrives for her job as a nanny. He tries to be a grump but really I did not find his character all that grumpy as some other books that I have read. For the most part, it was a quick and enjoyable read.
OHHH JAMESSSSS.
i REALLY enjoyed this story and book! I loved the different plot tunnels and layers to this story!
Kaitlyn is also just wonderful. I adored little Harper.
I am a SUCKER for a single dad romance SPECIALLY when that little is the dad’s E N T I R E world. like come on. how attractive is that?
James moved to the top of my book boyfriend list & i’m already ready to reread.
My only dislikes were that for a book called “mr. grump” i expected more grumpiness. I could have used more, but still loved James how he was.
I also saw the twist of who leaked the info coming whenever the meetings with Lou started. I had a feeling he was who he was! BUT it didn’t take away from the story for me!
overall i really enjoyed this & would recommend!
Simply put, this one was very enjoyable for me. It’s really representative of why I wanted to start reviewing the way I do (and am still trying to evolve into my perfect fit), the plot kept me engaged start to finish, the characters were enjoyable and I was just in a mood for a single dad romance. IMO there were a few plot holes &/or scenarios where the reactions or decisions didn’t match the behaviors that seemed appropriate, but other than taking me briefly out of the story I was able to not let them bother me.
This was my first read by Leslie North and I enjoyed it! (and now I have a huge backlog of her books to get though, lord help my TBR)
To be honest, my first time reading this book I DNF’d at about 15%. I have obviously gone back to it and I’m glad I did. So it takes a bit to get into this story and some things didn’t make a huge amount of sense (like their first real date and the wedding drama and the way this trope played out). But it was fun and a quick read (once I properly committed to reading it haha) and there was very decent spice so I’m not complaining. 4⭐️!
Love this one. I have read a book by Leslie in the past, but it was a cowboy story - loved this so much more!
This book follows Kaitlyn a college student working on her masters and James a billionaires club owner in Miami. The meet at one of his clubs and have a one night stand - trouble is clearly coming!
James’ daughter was a victim of a kidnapping plot and will not leave the home. James brings in a professional to help her get over her fears. Who do you think that could be?
This book covered a lot of ground. certainly some triggers but it was handled well. The pace was perfect. I had a hard time putting it down!
Can’t wait for the next two books to be released!
Thank you NetGalley for the copy for my honest feedback!
Overall good book.... The little girl Harper sounds too adorable..... Some drama, humor, and some mild sexy scenes as well...
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this book.
This story was so cute, I really enjoyed reading this book.
This book was so sweet. I absolutely loved it. Harper was absolutely my favourite, and how much the book talked about supporting your child and bringing in outside help if it was needed. As well as the development of them as a couple. Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book. It will definitely be reread and recommended to people I know
Easy read. Part of series so most HEA lovers will enjoy this one. I would read this author again and agin
