This was my first book by Leslie North, but it certainly won't be my last. This was such an easy read for me. Mr Grump follows James Morris (billionaire, hottie) and Kaitlyn Thorn (therapist, kindest soul ever) and their romance. There is definitely spice in this book but there were also SO MANY FEELS. James has a daughter, Harper, and the relationship between Kaitlyn and Harper just melted my lil heart. And the heart wrenching feels I had between 75%-90% guh. I love when books make my chest hurt.

The epilogue was perfection too. SO CUTE.

I can't wait to continue on with this series!

‘Mr Grump’ was my first book of Leslie North and it was a wonderful first encounter. Her writing is fun and I flew through the story. The spice and the story were well written and I loved the story around the little girl. It was an extra layer which made story a little bit more serious without losing the romance side.
The only thing I liked a little bit less was the way the relationship between the main characters was put on paper. It felt too much on one hand, but on the other hand it wasn’t enough? The most part was, I didn’t believe it. At one point it felt a lot like a love on first sight story, even though it also starts as an enemy to lovers-story. Sometimes it felt that the author tried to put to many tropes in the story. The relationship and the chemistry didn’t feel real, unfortunately.
But even because of that, I enjoyed this story. The way the little girl was built in the story was amazing, and I loved that part!
It was my first book of Leslie North, but I doubt it will be my last!

Thank you NetGalley for this galley. This has not affected my opinion whatsoever.

Thank you to Netgalley, Relay Publishing and Leslie North for this ARC!

This was a very delightful read! James is very relatable, being afraid to let someone in and the devotion to his daughter was great to read. I was expecting a really grumpy, brut man but he was a goner as soon as he met Katie. This was a really nice read and I was feeling all the feels while reading their story!

A good read of a rich man and his traumatized daughter, who get help with a live in therapist Kaitlyn. I did enjoy it, but found some of the outside story-lines unnecessary. For example, the grandparents suing for custody, the crazy guy trying to steal all his workers, and her crazy mother. Still though, easy to skim over a few parts and keep with the main story of the romance and the adorable little girl. Would recommend.

It was about time for my Leslie North fix. And what can I say: the cover of Mr. Grump was too good to ignore. So I dove into the Billionaire Boss holes series with Kaitlyn and James. And of course: no hardship here.

Of course, beneath the grumpy exterior, James is a giant marsh mellow. And Kaitlyn is a wonderful woman, who helps James with his biggest concern. Add in a few twists and turns sparks flying and some misunderstandings and you have the magical mix of Leslie North. Another four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

The first book in the Billionaire Bossholes series by Leslie North, titled "Mr. Grump," follows the story of James Morris, a grumpy billionaire club owner in Miami, and Kaitlyn, a grad student who meets him during her sister's bachelorette party. Although their initial encounter is hot and steamy, it ends abruptly, leaving Kaitlyn confused and hurt. A few days later, Kaitlyn discovers that James is the single father who has hired her to be his daughter's psychologist. As they work together to help James' daughter overcome trauma, they also have to deal with their growing attraction towards each other.

While the story has a predictable plot and lacks character development, it is an enjoyable read for those who love the billionaire trope. The book moves quickly, with the relationship between the MMC and FMC happening within the first few chapters. Some parts of the book are also a little silly and cringe-worthy, but overall, it is a fast and easy read.

Single Dad books are my kryptonite and a little grump and I am pretty much all in. The title of this book was a bit deceiving. MCS wasn't too grumpy, except when it came to his beautiful daughter. The FMC was okay, sweet, nice, naïve, but overall, the chemistry between these two seemed off. Sexy times was hot, but that was about it. I apologize in advance for not really loving this book, it was just okay.

I couldn't read this book. I started and it just wasn't for me afterall.

I got about 20% into it and decided that I would rather read something else.

Apologies to Netgalley, Relay Publishing and Leslie North for not enjoying this.

First of all, thank you NetGalley and Leslie North for this ARC in exchange for my personal opinion.

Going into this book I had relatively high expectations. I found that I was disappointed instantly at how quickly things moved. I was just a dozen pages in and there was already a "relationship" happening between the MMC and FMC. So for this, this wasn't that much fun to read becasue there was no initial build up. The build up happens later on in the book but since they had already had sex in the first couple chapters, it all just felt rushed.

I also felt that there were certain parts that were a little silly and it made it a little hard for me to read without cringing.

I liked the overall idea of the story but I wish there was a little more character development and that the plot was a little more deep.

If you are looking for a fast, easy read and you like the billionaire trope, this book will probably be for you.

James is a billionaire who owns nightclubs in Miami. He is also a single dad to 4 year old Harper who was kidnapped by her previous nanny which has had devastating impact on her that James has decided to reach out for professional help (private counseling).

It happened one night in a club when a women accidently spills drinks on one of the high value clients. Kaitlyn is there for a bachelorette party and is floored by the immediate attempt made by James to Pacify the women and not her. Going to the bachelorette party was because its her sister. Kaitlyn is a grad student Kaitlyn and is busy working on obtain PHD to have her own counseling company so hence limited time for clubs. James eventually comped the bachelorette party and during that evening met up with Kaitlyn and they kissed. One thing let to another and Kaitlyn had her first one night stand with him. The evening ending abruptly after James received a call and he rudely told her to leave. Although rude, Kaitlyn knew she wouldn't see him again so it didn't matter.

Fast forward a few days later and it turns out the job she had was for James and his daughter. Surprise Surprise. James as a father prioritized his daughter and deemed that he would not engage Kaitlyn in any other manner than professionally. But the pull between the two and the overall relationship between them grows throughout while ensuring his daughter is always his priority.

Katie is a child psychologist and attends her sister's bachelorette party at a swanky night club in Miami. There she meets James after she accidentally spills a drink on herself and a wealthy patron. Katie assumes James works at the club when he comps the drinks and invites her to change in his apartment above the club. The two end up spending the night together until James unceremoniously asks Katie to immediately leave after receiving a mysterious phone call. A few days later, Katie is tasked with helping a young girl with anxiety by becoming a live-in nanny. She arrives at the mansion to discover the father of the young girl is none other than James, who is actually a very wealthy owner of multiple nightclubs.

I feel like this book would've been very popular during the Fifty Shades era. There are many similar themes--wealthy business man, down-to-earth girl, mysterious stalker, scenes at a nightclub, etc. My biggest critique is the lack of grumpiness! In the synopsis (and the title) James is described as a grump, but I really didn't get much grumpiness from his character. He just seems like an overprotective single dad who takes his job and child's mental health very seriously. I also felt like the third act breakup and subsequent declaration of love didn't match James' character's personality. He proclaims his love for Katie in a very public interview, even though during the first 90% of the book he is obsessed with privacy and protecting his daughter. I did enjoy the banter and the precocious child character of Harper. She was smart without being an unrealistic depiction of a kid. Overall, just three stars.

He’s not that much of a grump. That part feels like false advertising. Kaitlyn is supposed to be a mental health professional but she does a couple of things that are so wildly unprofessional, it took me out of the story. The conflicts were nearly over-the-top soapy. That may be what people are looking for in their billionaire romances, but it didn’t work for me.

James is your stereotypical grumpy billionaire love interest. When Kaitlyn first meets him, their connection is red-hot, at least until he very abruptly kicks her out the next morning. Fast forward a few days, Kaitlyn shows up at her new job as a child psychologist only to find that James is the father that hired her. James and Kaitlyn are forced to work together to help James' daughter overcome trauma of her own and attempt to ignore their growing attraction.

The story is somewhat predictable and I wish there had been more character development, but overall I enjoyed it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for an advanced copy of this book.

This book was not exactly what I expected it to be, but it was a cute palette cleanser.
I was a bit disappointed that the initial hook up scene was fade to black. I would have loved to learn more about that dynamic between them at that point. The end scene of that hook up that was described felt very technical.
Also him second guessing his decision of only doing one night stand after that short encounter with Katie seemed rushed and a little unreasonable. I didn’t really fell the connection between the two in general. Everything felt very stiff to me. I expected there to be more spice in general, especially with the way the blurb hinted at the one night stand. If you’re looking for a spicy read this isn’t for you since most scenes fade to black rather quickly.
I really loved how devoted James was to his daughter though. I also really liked how Harper was written as well as her relationship with Katie.
A few parts of the book were very predictable though because things were too good to be true and also very on the nose in some aspects.
Overall it was a decent read though, with just a little bit too much drama and predictability for my liking.

Thanks to #NetGalley for a copy of this book

This was a reasonably enjoyable read.
My main issue with it was that all issues in the story wouldn’t even exist if the characters just communicated with eachother.
For that reason, I give this book 3*

I'm sorry to say but I really hated this book. The writing style and the story itself made me cringe. I went in expecting at least a fun read with characters that don't take themselves seriously and I got wattpad fanfic

This was an interesting, steamy read!
James meets Kaitlyn at his club, has a one night stand and then leaves abruptly, only to discover that she is his daughter’s new live in therapist. Both of them are totally shocked, but power through for the sake of his daughter.
The story of James’ daughter’s Harper’s traumatic experience gave the book a depth you don’t always find in steamy books! It really delved into the whole child therapist aspect and showed Kaitlyn working with Harper to move past her trauma. I admit there were moments in the beginning where I was desperately waiting for the spice to return, but I was also very interested in seeing how things panned out for the little girl!
I loved seeing James and Kaitlyn eventually come together and fall in love, despite her own childhood issues and the fact that neither was looking for love when they met. The sexy scenes were spicy and graphic, which is always a plus in my book!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
