Venus Merriwell is the youngest Merriwell sister and the most romantic one. She crashes with Galahad, the gambler, over everything. Will true love win?

I love this series. It's fun to read about the youngest sister and see how she grows up. Galahad is interesting. I enjoyed their banter and chemistry. Terrific historical rom-com.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

So much fun! I loved this one. I have been excited for their story since the first book! I like the way Heath writes. This one was a little more sensual they the first two books. Venus is a bit of a goddess and he can't keep his eyes to himself:} He try's so hard! I just enjoyed watching there walls fall down.
This is an adult read with some non sexual nudity and one sex scene before marriage. Some swearing and drinking and gambling.

4.5 Stars! Virginia Heath absolutely knocked it out of the park, folks! This is the 3rd book in ‘The Merriwell Sisters’ series and can be read as a standalone. This was a killer series & I recommend reading from the start. In this book, the youngest Merriwell sister, Venus/Vee Merriwell & Galahad/Gal Sinclair, cousin to the main male character from book 2, are the main characters & go from frenemies to more. Or do they? Mwahaha! Kidding!…
Secrets, omissions, romance, arguing, witty banter, ‘sexy times’, orphans, sneaky sneakiness, an HEA ending and much more. This book, & this whole series, has such wonderful characters, I couldn’t help but get pulled in and invested in those fictional characters lives. I do wish the epilogue had been longer but it was still a lovely ending. All in all, an entertaining, page turner.

This was such a delightful historical romance, and an another delightful addition to the series! I really liked this book. The cast of characters has been entertainingto get to know, and the chemistry is always delivered with a Virginia's writing style .If you’re also a fan of historical rom coms, I’d definitely recommend you check out Never Wager with a Wallflower.

A special thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Publishing Group for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited by the first page. For me, it quickly went downhill from there. I felt like it was a giant backstory dump straight through 3%, at which point I’ve decided to give up and go eat breakfast. It’s not that nothing is happening… our MC is evaluating his riches and his properties. It’s that nothing interesting is happening.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC.

In the third book in this series, the old adage that opposites attract is proven yet again when the proper and morally-guided Venus Merriwell goes head to head with her brother in law's cousin, Galahad Sinclair. Galahad is the proprietor of several gaming dens, and is hell bent on opening a new one in a perfect building that happens to be right next door to the orphanage Venus works at. As the two fight over the building they also fight their mutual attraction.

This was a great addition to the series, and like its predecessor, was better than the last. Each of these books has moved a little further outside the box, and I appreciated the creative storyline here, as it provided an additional element to the classic opposites attract dynamic. It was clear that the characters of Venus and Galahad were two sides to the same coin.

This was a great addition to the series and really fun book in its own right! I highly recommend this to romance readers. Thank you so much to St. Martin's Press and Net Galley for providing me with an advanced reader's copy of this book.

Never Wager with a Wallflower by Virginia Heath is a delightful conclusion to the Merriwell Sisters Regency rom-com series. The story revolves around Miss Venus Merriwell, who dreams of finding her prince charming and expanding the orphanage she works for, and Galahad Sinclair, a successful gambler who wants to turn an empty building into his dream gaming hall. The catch? The building is next door to the orphanage that Venus works for, and the two clash from the start.

The author does an excellent job of developing Venus's character throughout the series, making her more sympathetic and likable in this book. Galahad is a fantastic hero, with understandable flaws and realistic motivations. The main conflict of the story is well-timed and contributes to the overall plot, rather than feeling forced. The side characters, particularly Olivia, Jeremiah, and the Twins, are charming and add to the story's humor.

Overall, Never Wager with a Wallflower is a satisfying conclusion to the series and a great standalone novel. Virginia Heath's writing has improved since the first two books, and this book is a testament to her growth as an author.
