This is the first book I've read by Erin Hahn and I pleasantly enjoyed this one. The "He falls first" is one of my favorite tropes. I was worried about the friends to lovers cause for me those are a bit a miss or hit. This was definitely a hit. It reminds me a bit of Once More with Feeling, which I loved. I really liked the way the author through in the flashbacks sporadically. It felt randomly placed at times, but it worked. Be on the lookout for this in Oct 2023!

The characters were so sweet and adorable. And their love for each other had me swooning. Overall, it was a full 5 stars read for me

I was in desperate need of something joyful and satisfying and low angst, and I'm so glad I had this because nothing could have given me exactly what I needed the way this book did. We have a classic "it's not unrequited, they're just idiots", friends to lovers.

Everything about Huck was so heartfelt; he's loved her forever, has never hesitated to support her NO MATTER WHAT, is shy and a chronic overthinker, has written love songs AND erotic poetry for her (without even telling her), and is obsessed with giving her head, SHOW ME A MORE PERFECT MAN I'LL WAIT

Lorelai, what a fucking powerhouse of a woman. I was in constant awe of her, and I just want to be like her when I grow up (no seriously). I felt so much for this incredible person who was constantly being questioned and held back, but always managed to rise up and say "fuck you" to everyone who stood in her way.

I'm so obsessed with these two and I'm already desperate to reread this book so I can feel those happy feelings again.

MVP: Arlo, what a fucking king, I need a novella about him and Josh. I just need to know more!!

There are times I just need to curl up on my patio chair and read a book that is fun and easy and one everyone needs to read, and this is that book.
Friends Don't Fall in Love by Erin Hahn gave me characters that held my attention and took me off into a story about friends who fell in love.
And to top it off with Nashville and music to make it even better. This is a book that many will read and be so happy they did. I would love to meet Lorelai in real life.

I loved Lorelai in Built to Last and was so excited to read more of her story. I never expected how much I would love her leading man. Huck is this caring, talented man who pulls you in from the start. The two are perfect together and make for such a fun story. I loved how open and honest Lorelai was with her feelings; whether the moment of her fall from country music grace or her outspoken honesty about women in country music, she's not afraid to speak her mind. My favorite thing about this book (and Erin Hahn books in general) is how much detail goes into each character the author writes, each one special and loveable in their own respect, you're left wanting a book for each character.

I'm still not over this book. I loved it so much. Huck is now in my Book Boyfriend Hall of Fame. The banter is spot on, the pining, the steam ... just everything. The way he talked to and about Lorelai just gave me all the feels. I love him, and I love them.

After crashing and burning in the country music world by way of covering the wrong song, Lorelai heads back to being a teacher. But her best friend (and her ex-fiancee's bassist) Huck still think she's got something. So when Huck quits the band and starts his own label and studio, Lorelai ends up back in Nashville to face the music, so to speak. But once she collides with Huck, does fitting in and making amends matter anymore?

This book is connected to Hahn's other works - and I need to dig in and read everything she's ever written ever. I love her writing style and her characters. I will definitely be purchasing this book once it's released!

The cutest country romance. I felt like I was watching a Hallmark movie set in Nashville. It totally gave me Emily Henry vibes!! So recommend this book!

The truth is, if Erin Hahn writes it, I will read it.

Given the content warnings, I expected lots more spice, but I'm not mad that it wasn't a spicy book. The timelines messed with my head a little bit. Like was Lorelai a teacher, then a singer, then a teacher again? And it may have just been me not comprehending things in my excitement to read another Erin Hahn book without having to wait for my library to get it on the shelves.

Friends to lovers is a favorite trope of mine so I loved this book!

What I liked:
- The music industry was a nice change
- The solid friendship between Craig & Lorelai
- How scared they both were to ruin their friendship
- The ex played a significant role
- The mutual respect they had for each other as artists
- Dual POV is always a plus for me
- This was the first time I’ve read a book with celiac representation and while sad I felt it was really well done.

There were a couple of things I didn’t love about this book but they’re small and didn’t affect my overall enjoyment. First off, the cover is not my favorite - don’t judge the book by it. Second, the beginning was a bit confusing to me. I had to go back and read some of it a second time because the flow felt awkward.

Lorelai and Huck have to be one of my favorite main character couples right now! Their chemistry is absolutely amazing, and you could feel it on every page.

I absolutely love when the male falls first, so this had me swooning. Add in that it is based in Nashville and around country music, and this Tennessee girl was hooked.

I love a friends to lovers trope, and this one was perfection! I was so invested in the characters and their relationship.

I think this book has solidified my love for Erin Hahn and her writing. I don’t think it was really a question, but it is nice to have confirmation. This book is a companion to her adult romance Built to Last, following Lorelai Jones and her attempt to come back to the country music scene after an “incident,” as well as Craig Boseman who has been with her through thick and thin, with a secret crush on Lorelai and a thriving record label. This book focuses on music, finding oneself, and being true to who you are, consequences be damned. Plus, it has some spicy scenes and a really lovely friends-to-lovers romance. This book touches on important political issues, specifically the massive gun & school shooting we have here in the U.S. While there is no gun violence on page, it is important to note that it exists in case this is something that can be triggering for you to read. This book is sweet, it’s spicy, and it calls out some of the hypocrisy that we have here in the US, especially with country music/conservatives. This book is an easy read, since it is captivating and well written, but nothing about it feels forced. I will probably reread this book again when it is officially published, as well as anything else Erin puts out. Erin has become one of my insta-buy authors and I am not mad at it.

Hello to my new favorite book of this year! Absolutely is making my top ten. I've never been so entertained by a book. The way it was written was so interesting. I genuinely felt like I was talking to a friend while they were telling a story. It was so fun!!

Lore and Huck are angels, and they deserve every ounce of love and goodness and joy that comes from them being together. They're also both just so funny. I loved reading from both points of view! It was just so good!! And the celiac rep?? Superlative!!

Our supporting characters are also just the best. They were funny and influential to the story. They had purpose and humor. It felt like a little family that I just desperately want to be a part of.

The whole story of redemption in the eyes of the country music world was definitely so interesting to read about. I found myself enjoying it almost as much as the romance part. The whole story was so enthralling. I LOVED IT!!

Country music darling Lorelai lost her spotlight when she dared to sing a protest song onstage and fans turned on her. Several years later, she’s back in Nashville looking for a comeback and reconnecting with old friend and new indie music producer Craig. He’s also her landlord, as the two share a duplex with very thin walls. Lorelai and Craig have always been just friends, other than that one night that they’ve mutually decided never to discuss. But spending time together now, it’s harder for each of them to hold back the feeling that they might want more.

I don’t know who said that the central conflict in a romance novel should not be solvable in one conversation between the main characters, but that’s really the case here. There’s so much pining that could be alleviated by one honest discussion. I kept yelling just TALK to each other. But alas, they are fictional and did not hear me.

I hate to say it but I’m DNFing this book… I could tell early on that writing style just isn’t for me and I don’t think continuing it would change that.

Thank you very much to the author and publisher for providing me with an advance reader's copy of Friends Don't Fall in Love. It was such a unique story and I haven't read anything like it before. This book is very much a friends-to-lovers story, but the fact that both main characters were in the music industry made it very interesting.

I will say that although the music aspect of this book was interesting, I did start to get bored of it about halfway through the book. But I think that is just my personal preference because I'm not very interested in music or the music scene in Nashville. Despite this, I thought it was still a very good story.

The characters in this book were great. The main character Lorelai could be annoying at some times with her inability to admit to herself that she's in love with her long-time friend Craig. But Craig's character was such a dreamy book boyfriend. He was always so attentive and caring of Lorelai, even when Lorelai was dating his bandmate Drake. Lorelai and Craig's relationship was really sweet and I loved the epilogue which shows a little bit of their life together. I wish we had seen some more Drake drama, but maybe that's just me enjoying a little toxicity in books.

This was a really interesting book, especially for romance and music lovers.

I really loved this book! The friendship turned romance between Huck and Lorelai immediately drew me in - it was sweet, genuine, spicy, and fun. I'm not a country music fan, but I still enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the industry and the cast of supporting characters made the book all the better. A must read this fall!

I went into this book with high hopes, but ultimately, had DNF. This book claims to be a Rom Com, but when you have multiple political stances in the first few pages of the book, it loses that luster for me. This is a pass for me, sadly.
