Unseen by Traci Abramson is a romantic suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat, turning every page to see what happens next.
Laura is a nurse practitioner visiting her grandmother in Honduras. Manuel, a ghost, is a member of a classified guardian program that protects assets based in Central America. A classic case of mistaken identity, Laura is mistaken for a doctor and taken by a local gang. Laura isn’t sure she could make it out of this situation alive until Ghost appears, where they have to work together to survive.
One thing that I really loved was that
Laura and Manuel’s relationship started on the basis of a friendship. They had to trust each other right from the start and they both really made time for their budding romance even in the midst of trying to stay alive.
Unseen could be read as a stand-alone, but for a deeper understanding and more for fun, I would recommend reading the books that come before. I prefer to read books in order but you definitely don’t have to! This book is perfect for those that love action, suspense, and a little sprinkle of romance all in one!
I had the opportunity to read an advanced reader’s e-proof of Unseen by Traci Abramson courtesy of Covenant Communications via NetGalley. All opinions above are my own.
Wow! Another amazing, edge of your seat, nail-biter in Traci’s Hunter Abramson’s Guardians series! Unseen takes us to the streets of Honduras where a ruthless gang kidnaps a young woman visiting her grandmother in the hospital. It’s up to Manuel, a member of the highly classified Guardian program to rescue her.
Manuel gave up everything to become a Guardian. As part of this secret government agency he’s charged with protecting U.S. operatives in Central and South America. He’s called “Ghost” because to anyone outside of the Guardian program, he’s presumed dead. Given a choice after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit to join the elite organization or face life in prison, he chose to become a Guardian. His death was faked and he became a highly-trained agent.
Laura’s a nurse practitioner from San Diego visiting her sick grandmother in Honduras. In an unfortunate case of mistaken identity, she’s captured by a deadly gang, Manuel sees what happened and launches a daring rescue. From there, it’s a deadly cat and mouse game as Manuel and Laura try to keep an injured man alive all while evading the gang intent on their demise. From car chases, to shootouts, to deadly escapes through the jungle, this book will take you on one wild ride as Manuel tries to help Laura get safely back to the U.S.
I loved Manuel & Laura! They were such amazing, relatable characters. I especially loved Manuel’s backstory. The author really shows the sacrifice and heart-wrenching decision he had when he joined the Guardians. While at first Laura doesn’t really know who Manuel is and knows him only as “ghost,” she quickly learns to trust her instincts about him. Their romance was born out of friendship and in the midst of jaw dropping suspense. Though it happened relatively quickly, it was completely believable and I loved every swoony moment.
The setting was fantasitc! The descriptions and feel for Central American culture really made this story come alive. I could easily picture all the gorgeous locations.
Highly recommend to all romantic suspense fans! Though it’s the seventh book in the series, it could easily be read as a standalone. Once you read this though, you’ll want to go back and read all the books in the series. It’s a clean, suspenseful read that you won’t be able to put down. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given.
Wow!
This story pulls you in and grips tightly until the very end! Action, drama, suspense, twists, humor and emotion blend perfectly into a beautiful, engaging tale.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
The danger and suspense swept me away from the very first page!
I wasn't emotionally prepared for the intense peril that started in the prologue and never let up, but I quickly jumped on board and I was captivated until the very end. Traci Hunter Abramson has delivered a story that holds a reader prisoner throughout every single page. From the drama, to the risky maneuvers, to the scary gang activity, to the unknowns of who and what to trust, to the interesting setting of Honduras, to the forced proximity, I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't even begin to anticipate what would occur next.
I loved this Ghost (Manuel) and my heart broke for the hard decision he had to make and I was scared out of my mind for nurse practitioner, Laura, but I loved watching them step-by-step move through difficult situation after difficult situation, while finding something in each other to hold on to.
This nail biter is fast-paced, intense, and full of wonderful characters, with a very bittersweet romance. I flew through the pages and loved every single minute of my time there.
Content: mild+ moments of peril/danger/death; mild romance
This Guardians novels was so good! While written as part of the series, it is one that can be read and understood on its own. From beginning to end, I was left guessing on what was going to happen. I love seeing the back stories to the ghosts come into play and reading about their process of finding a way to live a happy life while in the shadows. Traci Hunter Abramson is fantastic at writing stories that are realistic without being too intense. It brings just the right amount of adventure and intrigue with the hint of romance. I loved reading about the culture and setting of Central America from the perspective of someone who has heritage and not just as a tourist. I can definitely see myself rereading this one.
I have loved the guardian series. If you like clean romantic suspense, this is a series you should check out.
One of my favorite things in a romance novel is every scene where the couple is together interacting. Because these two main lead characters are hiding together, they are together interacting during almost the entirety of the book. I loved it. I loved the slow trust and camaraderie that develops between them that turns into more.
I loved the constant suspense and intrigue woven into this story, as well as the culture that was such a great part of molding this into a book that held my attention and kept me turning pages. This is one of my favorites in this series.
Thank you to the publisher and author for this advanced copy! I loved it.
This book is part of Ms. Abramson's Guardian series and is set in Honduras. Manuel, a Guardian, is trying to save an informant from certain death, when a civilian named Laura is caught up in the web of danger. They end up on the run from the notorious Jaguar Negro gang with several breath-stealing chase scenes and gunfights. While they are stuck in a safehouse, Manuel and Laura feel a spark of attraction as they get to know one another, but how could Manuel ever ask someone to be part of his life when he’s relegated to the shadows?
The author paints a beautiful picture of Honduras, contrasting the incredible scenery with the ugly side of gangs and drugs. There was an emotional depth to Manuel as he struggles with missing his family and the fact that being a Guardian was a choice he never wanted to make. Laura is the first real human relationship he’s had for a very long time, so he quickly falls in love with her. She is more hesitant to be part of such a dangerous world where guns and violence are an ordinary occurrence. Readers will root for this couple to stay alive and find happiness. Overall, this can be read as a stand-alone book, but there were characters and allusions to previous stories that some won’t understand if they haven’t read the other books in the series. Unseen is an edge-of-your-seat story, perfect for a summer night of reading.
I wanted to like this one, and is some ways I did. But there were a couple of things that did didn't know until I started the book that would have been red flags for me fk avoid this one had I known. One is the mention of Disney and one of the characters being a Harry Potter fan. That's a big no in my house, and I would have skill the book simply for that. Just something I personally believe Christians (true followers of Jesus shouldn't play with, as the Bible clearly says all witchcraft is bad. Don't tempt God.) Second is that this isn't even a Christian book. The author is a member of the LDS or Mormon, not a Biblical Christian. While I have enjoyed some LFS authors and their books in the past, I don't believe we serve the same Jesus at all, so tend to avoid reading them, especially under the false guise of being something they are not, i.e Christian. Clean? Yeah, maybe, but definitely not truly following the Jesus if the Bible. Are there saved Mormons? Yes, I believe there can be but then they aren't truly Mormon then, as all who are in Christ are made new, we are no longer defined by denominations and titles, but are made one in HIM.
I do realize that Covenant is a LDS publisher, and respect them for this. I also greatly enjoy some of their books, including A Walt's With Traitors by A. L. Sowards which is one of my favorite stories! But I first found this book simply marketed as 'Christian' which doesn't clearly make the distinction. One that is far too often unclear.when books are listed simply as "Christian". So, this is by no means against the publisher, and I am grateful for the chance to read this one from them. I think perhaps I prefer their historical fiction stories, but alas...
Was this a bad story? No, not really. It was an entertaining read and I had planned to go back snd read a few of the earlier books, but the Harry Potter reference killed that. Due to personal conviction, I am strict about the content I allow in my house and the things I allow to entertain my thoughts and do not support things that I know have direct ties to evil. This is just me, not meant to control anyone else's opinions or feelings on the matter. But due to this is was not able to fully enjoy this sorry and won't be reading any more of these books. I hate that it has to be like this, but compromising on God's word is something I refuse to do. I simply can't ignore HIS clear warnings, and especially not in something marketed as Christian.
I love any and all Traci novels. This one I think might be my favorite Guardian Novel. I love that Manuels story of becoming a Guardian is different from the usual and I love how much his and Laura's heritage played into their decision making in the story.
Also, knowing Traci for being the foodie she is, I loved seeing the variety of foods in this novel, from the very first line even!
What would you choose? Manuel is faced with a choice, Live the rest of his life in prison for a crime he didn't commit and was in the wrong place at the wrong time, or "die" in the eyes of his family and friends and live free but helping people. Those who make this choice are the Guardians. These are the protectors in the shadows that go by the name Ghost.
This ghost is tasked with saving a witness from the gangs in Central America. Our heroine gets kidnapped with him and gets pulled into the intrigue and in fighting in this gang world, Trying to fly under the radar makes it difficult to move anywhere and with bullet wounds, it is good that Laura is a nurse and can take care of the impatient patient,
The chemistry between Laura and Manuel is palpable, even though he is unable to even give her his name. The twists and turns are fantastic. Just when you think the story is winding down and everything is solved, Traci Hunter Abramson gives you more.
There are fantastic guest appearances by previous guardians we have met. This page turner gives suspense and satisfaction
I received an early copy of this story through NetGalley and this is my honest review.
Another riveting novel in the Guardians Series by Traci Hunter Abramson! Manuel joins the Guardian program after being convicted of killing two men even though he was innocent. Laura I’d visiting her sick abuela in a hospital in Honduras when she is kidnapped by a gang to save the life of gang member who was working with the CIA. Manuel a.k.a. Ghost come to rescue them to find that Laura had already started seating the guards. Together they escape with the CIA informer and race to find a safe place to escape the gang hunting them. I loved this fast-paced novel with many twists and turns and a touch of romance to round out the story!
I really enjoyed "Unseen" by Traci Hunter Abramson. This book had non-stop action! It kept you guessing until the very end! I know this is part of a series, but this is the first book I've read. So you can read this book by itself. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy good, clean, suspenseful books.
I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley from the publisher for my honest opinion.
I love this series! You'll be wondering what is going to happen next from the first page until the very end! I didn't want to put it down!
*note - can be read as a stand alone but best enjoyed when read in order
I received an ARC through Netgalley and all opinions are my own.
Oh my goodness this was such an exciting and thrilling read! Unseen is the 7th book in Traci Hunter Abramson’s Guardian series. I have loved Abramson’s books and I am so glad that I got the chance to read this book.
Manuel and Laura were fun to read about. They were facing unbeatable odds and yet they were trying their best to survive. I love getting to know Manual and Laura, they were such engaging characters and I wanted them to be happy. Manual was such an interesting character especially because he didn’t not necessarily want to be a guardian. Manual was just trying to make through and help those around him. Laura was also so cool especially because she was in a stressful situation and yet she was still positive.
I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how this book would end. Manuel and Laura were on the run as they tried to hide from the local gangs in Hounders, especially the ones that wanted them dead. There were so many different things that were going on and I didn’t know how it was going to end. I loved the characters, they really drew me in. Abramson wrote the perfect blend of romance and suspense. I really enjoyed Unseen and I would definitely recommend it! Unseen is a clean romantic suspense.
Content warnings: violence, gang activity,
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
This is an action-packed addition to Traci Hunter Abramson's Guardian series. While it's part of a series, it truly stands alone without a lot of connection to the previous books. This book is also very different from the previous books in regard to setting and background of the main characters.
Miguel is a Guardian working in Central America protecting operatives and agents for the United States. This book is set in Honduras, and he is working to protect his "clients" and stop gangs who are trafficking drugs. While rescuing his latest compromised client, he also encounters a nurse who was kidnapped by the gang. The three of them set off on a race to safety while attempting to elude the gang pursuing them.
The action in this book drew me in so completely that I finished this book in one sitting. The balance between suspense and clean romance is perfect with a few twists to keep you totally engaged in the book.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the digital ARC. A good review was not required and my opinion is my own.
Guys! There’s another Guardian book out in the world and I’m so freaking excited about that! It was so fun to dive into a story full of action, intrigue, and mystery There’s something enthralling about the way Traci writes.
Recently, I’ve enjoyed going into books without reading the blurb and although I knew about the guardians, Unseen was such a fun book to experience without any idea what would happen! The romance was there and who would complain about a handsome Manuel taking charge and protecting Laura.
I don’t think I could say enough about this book. Traci’s books are for anyone who likes secret agents, action, descriptions that make you want to travel, and plot twists. Might reread through the guardian series just for fun. 😁
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Unseen is the seventh book in Traci Hunter Abramson's Guardian series. Stand alone? No problem, however, each of the five prior novels are GREAT stories.
Manuel's story only takes about a minute of reading to start the adventure. His unexpected entanglement with a Guardian protecting an asset, in the midst of a gang shoot-out, culminates in dire unintended consequences. You know you're having a bad day when you stop on the way home to pick up some milk for your younger siblings, and wind up sentenced to life in prison with 20 years to serve before being eligible for parole. Definitely a bad day.
However, sometimes there really is a light at the end of a dark tunnel, and this one results in Manuel joining the Guardian team as a "ghost", on call to rescue CIA operatives or assets who are in danger at a moment's notice.
His current assignment begins with the message "I've been compromised" and Manuel, with about ten years of experience now as a "ghost", is inserted to save a CIA case officer and rescue the asset, who may or may not have ulterior motives of his own. If that wasn't enough, he also rescues an unexpected kidnap victim. Danger really does lurk around every corner as Manuel endeavors to keep alive all of them, but especially the beautiful kidnap victim, who just might change his life.
Good story, great series, plenty of excitement.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a digital ARC of this book in exchange for an independent review. based on my own opinions.
Unseen is the latest book in the Guardian series by Traci Hunter Abramson. Even though it is part of a series it could easily be read as a stand alone.
I was excited to read this book. I love all books by this author! This book definitely did not disappoint. It is actually one of my favorites in this series. It was suspenseful and action packed from the first page. Also the connection between the main characters was great. I loved both Laura and “GHOST” as main characters. They are a good fit for each other.
This is a book I strongly recommend reading. You won’t want to miss this one!
#Unseen #NetGalley
This book is part of the Guardian series. Who would have thought that a trip to Target would put Manuel in the middle of a gunfire and accused of two murders.
This novel was set in Central America, when Laura ens up in the wrong place at the wrong time, she has no idea what she is up against. At every turn it seems like she is fighting to stay alive. I read this book in less than twenty four hours I had a hard time putting it down...
This is part of the Guardian novels that are stand alone books loosely related. I think they originally were a break off from the authors Saint Squad series. Either way I enjoy the author and both of the series of books. Guardians are Federal, off the books, ghosts. They are people who are given the chance to work covert operations often going in where the CIA can’t. By being part of the operations they give up the life they once knew and their families often think they are dead.
The last books have been set in Europe but this one moves to Honduras. Laura is a nurse practitioner who is kidnapped after visiting her grandmother in a hospital. She is wearing scrubs and gang members want her to treat someone who has been shot. Manuel is a guardian and he protects US assets in Central America. He rescues Laura and her patient who he wants information from. But local cartel members are hot on thier heels and the local police have been paid off. It makes for tense scenes and risky escapes. I thought there was a good balance between the action and a brewing (clean) romance. There is also a nice shift away from everything magically being done on computers. This is an action packed addition to the Guardian collection.
Thank You to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
