Harper Shaw had decided to get rid of anything that does not spark joy, that includes making lists, her job, her ex almost fiance, and her life in San Diego. She returns to the last place she felt joy, Lake Tahoe and decides to open her own bakery.

Bodie Campbell owns the bar next door to the new bakery, and is Harper's landlord along with his brothers. Bodie is fighting his own demons and is keeping secrets from his family. The last thing Bodie needs is a new distraction in the form of Harper Shaw.

Ivy is a teen runaway who stumbles into the bakery on Harper's first night in Lake Tahoe. She gives Ivy a place to stay with her and a job. While slowly coaxing the 16 year old to open up to her about why she made the journey from Chicago to Lake Tahoe. Ivy eventually confesses that she is there to find her biological father, and she is quite surprised when she realizes who that is.

There was so much about this book that I liked. I loved the small town setting and the quaint shops where Harper's bakery was. I liked the friendship she developed with her neighbors, the bookstore owner and eventually with Bodie. I loved the friendship Harper developed with Ivy and how she grew to really care for the young girl. She allowed her to find a safe space and was so understanding especially once things got complicated between them. I liked that no matter how hard Ivy pushed, Harper was there for her with unconditional support. I really enjoyed how all of these storylines intertwined.

I did enjoy the romance between Bodie and Harper, neither one thought they were looking for a relationship, yet they couldn't stay away from each other either. Bodie definitely fell hard and fast and that was fun to read about, even if it seemed a little insta-love.

I loved the Campbell family, Bodie's brothers were such a fun part of this story. The family group texts were fun and the whole family accepting both Harper and Ivy with open arms was also really sweet.

I did not love the 3rd act conflict, but I usually don't love miscommunication and this one was huge miscommunication. I also felt like the ending was a bit rushed. I would've liked a little more resolution especially with Ivy's storyline.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and I would read more from this author.

This is the fourth book in the Sunrise Cove series. This can be read as a stand-alone. This is your typical small town, low angst, simple characters story. This is what I come to know and love from this author. I feel like her books are just comfort reads for me, and I love that. I loved the characters in this book and getting to know them more. I can’t wait to read more books in this series!

Jill Shalvis and Sunrise Cove are some of my favorite and I look forward to each new addition! Leary of Bodie and most everyone that tries to do something nice for her, it's no wonder that Harper was drawn to someone that needed help even more than she did!!! Ups and downs and a huge payoff made this love story precious and I can't recommend this sweet story. Oh - I LOVED the "brothers", they cracked me up. This digital copy of The Sweetheart List was a gift from Netgalley and I'm happy to give my own opinions <3

Great book! Harper is such a strong, bright character. I love how determined she is, and how she always seems to see the good in a situation. Bodie and his brothers are all great characters. Ivy was a bit of a curveball. You can tell she has an interesting backstory, but just HOW interesting was a surprise! I love the way both Harper and Bodie try to help her in their own ways, and how she slowly starts to lower her walls and accept their friendship. I would definitely recommend this book and am interested in checking out other books by this author. If The Sweetheart List is anything to judge by, I will enjoy reading her other books!

Well, this certainly made running a bakery seem pretty easy... Putting that aside, a beautiful reminder that family is where you make it, and the power of ciommunity to change lives, with a sweet romance.

Jill Shalvis is one of my favorite authors. Her books never disappoint!!
Harper moves away from her old life and moves to Sunrise Cove to find her happiness! She meets Bodie right away but they get off on the wrong foot. When she realizes that Bodie and his brothers own the bakery building that she is renting, she has to figure out how to work together. Bodie realizes that Harper is a great person and wants to get to know her better. Meanwhile Ivy, a runaway teenager, breaks into the bakery for a warm place to sleep and becomes friends with Harper. The ending of this book was great! This was a really book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager Publishing for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

The writing is solid, creating a vivid atmosphere, but the plot is a mix of captivating moments and predictability. Characters are well-developed, though some lack depth. Pacing fluctuates, making it a decent but not outstanding read.
