Exquisite! Ashlee Jane is a goddess with flowers and she is a sustainably-minded floral designer. No floral foam in sight and no dyed flowers. Her gift for elevating the joy of flowers is scrumptious. Her spring mantel I will never forget it! The use of branches, twigs flowers intertwined in each other to reach an ethereal quality was beautiful!
The format, layout, and photography were all top-notch. I liked her explanation of the basics and this book could cover from the beginner to a more advanced floral designer. Great instruction, and good detail also the book is arranged seasonally.
An inspiring and encouraging book to let your creativity go with nature.
I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher, Greenfinch for the opportunity to read and review House of Flowers by Ashlee Jane.
This is a book of beauty and inspiration! Beautiful photography and step by step guide helping you to create wonderful flower displays and wreaths for all over the home. This is a book you will continually come back to.
This is an opulent floral design book with projects by season. They are definitely designed for the wealthy and for those with the author’s specific Instagram chic (lovely) style. This reminds me of an updated sort of Martha Stewart vibe. I am far more natural, frugal and whimsical with my flowers but this is a beautiful book for those who want step by step directions for precise arrangements.
I read a temporary digital review copy of this book via NetGalley.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a beautiful book!
This book is structured with an introduction and then by season with information about how to select flowers for your home, the tools you need for various floral projects, and information on assembling. The book has various projects for table settings, mantle decorations, and bouquets. Unless you have a lot of space and time a lot of these projects aren't realistic, but they're nice to look at for ideas.
“Flowers can transform your home year round.” I LOVE flowers. I feel energized and content when I see a flower. They have a way of conveying hope, resiliency, strength, and gentleness. They are beautiful, no matter the time of year. What I don’t posses is the creativity to gather and arrange them in a way that brings me joy. Ashlee Jane possesses this gift and talent and graciously shared her knowledge and creativity with others. I learned a lot about the basics of arrangement (particularly wreaths) and was encouraged to just allow myself to be creative and create. With ideas to spark my own style, I felt empowered to just start arranging flowers in a way that lets them tell their own story.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.
I loved this book. It was written for a beginner to flower arranging. It was clear with information on a level that those of us starting out could use. I found the step by step instructions of actual arrangements to invaluable since I have a hard time with seeing an arrangement and then actually making it look the same. This was a great resource with beautiful pictures.
This ARC is a mess. I hope the finished text has been completely revised by a stern editor, but I doubt that happened.
Ashlee Jane is a designer, she's not a writer. The ARC is poorly organized and is written as if readers already know what she is talking about and also that they happen to live near London, UK.
Pretty photos but you will need a textbook on flower arranging to read alongside if you want to understand what's going on.
Not just a pretty coffee table book, but a serious floral design book. Beautiful and step-by-step guide to making your own stunning floral arrangements. Basically a floral arrangement course.
Lovely book.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I was really impressed by this book. No more boring grocery store flowers for me! The author tells you step by step how to create and care for all different types of arrangements. And for each season! From little table arrangements to whole garlands, this book has it all. Plus the pictures are gorg.
