I really enjoyed this one especially on audiobook, because the podcast element made the story come to life. I alternated between the audiobook and reading the book, and I definitely recommend the book both ways! This was my first Lisa Jewell and it definitely won't be my last! If you're looking for a mystery thriller, definitely check this one out!

Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the e-arc.

In case any of you are like me after finishing the absolutely unnecessary The Family Remains and were doubting Lisa Jewell, along comes None Of This Is True and Ms. Jewell declaring . . . .

I'M BACK, BITCHES!

The story here is about Josie. She already has it in her head that she wants to make some changes in her life, so when she accidentally meets her “birthday twin” at a restaurant where they are both celebrating their 45th, discovers said birthday twin Alix has a podcast and suggests she be the subject for the next set of installments.

You may be thinking you know where this is heading and it’s another dime or dozen stalker situation, but oh would you be wrong! My oh my do I appreciate a quality unreliable narrator and this book has one of the best. And just look at all those houses on the cover!!!!!!! I loved it.

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, NetGalley!

You never know what secrets someone is keeping. This book kept me on my toes and being blown away by what happened next. It was a page-turner and I stayed up all night reading it!

Though this loses a lot of steam once the twist is revealed, but Lisa Jewell kills the end of chapter cliffhanger again and again in this book. It's a real page turner that I tackled in large chunks, because it was difficult to put down. Incredibly twisty and entertaining and where it ends up will surprise anyone.

My first Lisa Jewell and I could not put it down; I binged it in less than 24 hours because once I started I needed to know what was going on! There were so many twists; I didn’t even bother trying to predict what was going to happen next or how it would end. I’m still not sure how I feel about that ending, but I’ll definitely be thinking about this book for awhile. I loved the podcast element and thought this was a unique, disturbing, fast-paced and compelling plot. I can’t wait to read Jewel’s backlist.

What an interesting premise to start a book from two women's points of view that slowly collide. Loving the new tech vibe that continues to appear often in new thriller/mystery novels.

Got about half way through and started to lose some interest but pushed through and boy was I glad I did. So many twists and turns. It gave Candy vibes, Was not expecting the crazy ending. Don't give up on this book, you won't regret it!

A digital copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and Atria Books. The opinions are my own and freely given.

Josie and her husband are celebrating her birthday at a restaurant and notices another woman, Alix, come in with a group, and she appears to also be celebrating her birthday. Josie follows the woman into the bathroom to tell her it is also her birthday, and they have a brief chat and introduce themselves. Josie and Alix not only were born on the same day, but at the same hospital. After the dinner, Josie seems to become a little obsessed with Alix and discovers that she is a podcaster and although her kids are older, they went to the same school that Alix's children go to. Josie meets Alix again, "by chance" and inserts herself into Alix's life. She talks Alix into making a podcast telling everyone about her life.

Josie talks about her husband and although she has two grown children, she doesn't really talk about them. Throughout the book, Alix, while trying to get to the bottom of Josie's story, also tries distance herself, because a few times Alix accidentally told Josie about her husband, and how sometimes he goes out on a drinking bender and doesn't come home.

Then Alix's husband goes missing...

I loved this book. I seriously kept you me turning the pages and you have to read up to the last page, to really find out what happened.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books.

Trigger warning- domestic abuse / abuse

I’ve seen mixed reviews for this one but wow, what the actual heck?!! I did enjoy every single bit on this roller coaster ride! Whew because it was a lot. I do see why it has mixed reviews so I will try to explain some of my personal perspectives.

I feel I still have questions that were left open ended to a point. Which I highly dislike. Maybe it’s just me, I like things clear and simply wrapped up. Maybe, that’s not accurate usage of words or explanation but I felt the ending left me wanting more out of it.

However, the story was easy to follow, enjoyable and the characters were compelling nonetheless. I did feel Alix was a pushover when it came to Josie but again, that made Alix, Alix. I also found the easily making friends in a bathroom friendship very relatable to my own self.

I did love the use of the podcast as a narrative! Really unique and interesting.

This one started strong, the middle was strong and ending was just like blah for me, at-least.

I did devour it and this was my first read by Jewell and won’t be my last!

I would like to thank Jewell, Netgalley and Artia Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest and own opinion.

This was the perfect thriller in my opinion. One leaving you questioning your sanity. You won't know who to believe or trust the entire story. What a ride!? Incredible. It was probably my favorite Lisa Jewell yet. I truly enjoyed every moment. A quick read packing a big punch. Highly recommend.

An interesting premise, I felt it was more suited as a fall read rather than a beach read with all the mystery and suspense.

Josie is ready to turn a corner in her mundane life. When she meets a woman that has the same birthday as her at her birthday dinner, she feels like this could be exactly what she has been looking for. Alix, the birthday twin, makes podcasts for a living. Josie convinced her that she needs to tell her story, her truth, so that she can find the courage to move forward in her life. When Alic begins hearing her story, she is enthralled, disgusted, and kind of terrified.

My head is still spinning. I don’t know what is true, what is not. Who should I believe? Does the truth lie in the middle? This is an amazing book that will keep you guessing until the last line!

i thought this was fantastic. some things perhaps i didn't love here or there, but overall, a very compulsive unputdownable read, which is fabulous, since i think i didn't love my last LJ read. i will say it seemed to lose steam towards the end, and i feel like there were a few things glossed over, but in the end, i read it in less than 24 hours which is always a good thing in my book. lol

What a friggin’ RIDE!!!

I adore Lisa Jewel’s writing style and this book hit all the right notes for me. Jewel kept my attention the ENTIRE time. I didn’t want to put this one down!!

There are a bunch of unreliable f*cked up characters with secrets galore that make you question every single thing. There were so many times I said “wtf” lol.

The ending of this has some people mad and tbh I get it. But also - it REALLY fits well with this story. It made it seem all that more real and jaw-dropping.

I had an ARC if this, but didn’t get to it and ended up listening to the audio and I HIGHLY recommend the audio!!! It is SO well done! You feel like you’re at the movies or something.

This is for sure in my top 3 favorite Lisa Jewell books!

I am a huge fan of Lisa Jewell and couldn’t wait to read her newest book! I actually waited until it came out on audio, and it was phenomenal. I was intrigued the whole time I was reading it, and found myself not wanting to stop. I loved how the story was told through different times/dates, and podcast interviews. It made it such a fun read, and I loved it! This is one of her best books yet. If you’re a fan of mystery books, I highly recommend checking this one out!

This was an easy read with short chapters, two POVs, and interwoven podcast transcripts/Netflix visual summaries. I liked the format of this book and kept engaged. At times it was a bit hard to follow the thinking of the characters, I think it was intentional to keep the reader guessing.

I LOVE books with unreliable narrators! This one did not disappoint. Even though from the get go, I kind of had a feeling about what was going to happen, it was still worth it the whole way through because I never fully knew what would happen next. Lisa Jewell has this way of captivating her readers and not letting them go until the very end of her books.

None of This is True- Lisa Jewell
Rating- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This one had me HOOKED. 🖤Jewell hits us with an intriguing, mind bending read about a woman who becomes the subject of her own true crime podcast.

Alix Summer, a beautiful and successful podcast host, is celebrating her 40th birthday, when she meets Josie Fair, an unremarkable, dull woman who is also Alix’s “birthday twin”. What should have been an innocent and unique encounter becomes something darker when Josie convinces Alix to start a podcast of her life. Through the podcast recording, Alix learns of Josie’s twisted past full of secrets. The further Alix delves into Josie’s past, the further she puts herself in danger.

With different POV’s, and a podcast format, new information and warped secrets are slowly unraveled in a way that keeps you guessing.
There were definitely parts of this story that sent chills up my spine, I was on the edge of my seat wondering where things were going & needing to know the truth. Jewell did an excellent job of creating characters who were mysterious & eerie. I truly didn’t know who to trust and I felt myself going back & forth with my feelings towards certain individuals.

I will say, the ending wasn’t my favourite. With all the uncertainties and unreliable characters I was hoping for more of a conclusive ending.

This is definitely a suspenseful and unsettling thriller- perfect for spooky season 🖤🖤.
