Loved this book! I read it a while back but forgot to give feedback. It was excellent. Kept me invested the whole time.

This book is an addictive, twisty thriller that hooks you from the start. It follows Alix, a successful podcaster, and Josie, an unsettling stranger who turns her life upside down. As secrets unravel, you’ll question what’s real and who to trust. If you’re into dark, unpredictable stories, this one’s a total page-turner!

Loved this one! Lisa Jewell never misses and constantly keeps you guessing with the twists and turns. She makes it impossible to put her books down with the short chapters that always seem to leave the reader wanting more. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. :)

REVIEW: None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell
Lisa Jewell's None of This Is True is a clever and unsettling thriller that takes the true crime genre for a spin. The story starts when Alix Summer, a successful podcast host, meets a mysterious woman named Josie Fair on their shared 45th birthday. What begins as a remarkable coincidence quickly spirals into something much darker, exploring themes of truth, manipulation, and messiness of turning real lives into entertainment.
Jewell's unique mix of traditional storytelling, podcast transcripts, and documentary-style elements makes everything feel super authentic. It also raises some interesting questions about the reliability of these accounts. The pacing is on point, with Jewell dropping hints that seem harmless initially but take on a much creepier vibe as the story unfolds. The tension builds beautifully, making even the most ordinary moments feel suspenseful.
Character development is another strong suit here. Alix goes from a confident pro to a paranoid narrator in a way that feels believable, while Josie keeps you guessing about her true intentions right up to the end. The supporting characters are well-drawn, too, each adding their own layer to the mystery.
Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who loves psychological suspense and wants a fresh storytelling approach. Jewell shows why she's a leading voice in the genre with this one!
Thank you, Netgalley and Atria Books, for the free advanced copy for my honest review!

OH MY GOD?! Everything about this book was enjoyable. The premise was interesting, the twists were well-executed, and that ending??
This is a great book for anyone who enjoys a questionable narrator with questionable actions. I've recommended this book to so many friends, we realized we missed a chance to meet as a book club to talk about our theories.

This one was a miss for me. Characters were unlikelable, and I couldn’t get over the victim blaming with the pedophile husband.

Here’s the review - are you ready? Stop what you’re doing and pick up this book. Thrillers are so hard to review without giving too much away. Everything you need to know is in the title : None of This is True. This one is really good. I was sucked in immediately and it didn’t let up until the very end. Great read!

None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell is a twisty psychological thriller that follows Alix Summers, a popular podcaster, and Josie Fair, a woman who becomes fascinated with Alix’s life. When they cross paths at a restaurant, Josie convinces Alix to feature her in a podcast about reinvention. However, as Alix learns more about Josie’s dark past and unsettling secrets, she realizes that Josie’s interest in her might be more sinister than she thought. As boundaries blur and danger builds, Alix finds herself trapped in a web of lies, unsure what is real and who she can trust.
I’d give None of This Is True 4 stars. Jewell keeps you on edge, creating an eerie tension that makes it hard to put down. The story’s dual perspectives, with Alix as a relatable anchor and Josie as an unsettling mystery, pull you deep into the narrative. Jewell layers the suspense well, though at times the plot feels a bit too slow, especially early on. But once it picks up, it’s a wild ride with twists that leave you second-guessing every character. It’s a solid thriller that keeps you guessing until the end, perfect for fans of psychological suspense.

i have just recently gotten in to psychological thrillers and I must say this one blew me away! I did not see the twist at the end coming! I would've loved to read more about this obsession story with Alix and Josie and didn't want it to end!

I have to say, Lisa Jewell does not disappoint. I mean her books are always fantastic and keep me on the edge of my seat. However, this one, None of this is True, may be my favorite to date.
This truly meets the definition of a psychological thriller and the characters are just as compelling and complicated as one would expect.
Great job Lisa!!

Holy cow, this was a good one! The podcast trope was done really well and I enjoyed how the story unfolded. Lisa Jewell is known for some crazy twists and while I had an inkling with this one, it didn't take away from the fact I couldn't put the book down. Honestly, one of the best books I've read this year! Thank you to NetGalley, Atria books, and Lisa Jewell for allowing me to review this one. All thoughts are my own.

Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at a local pub, Alix Summer meets Josie Fair, another woman marking the same milestone. This seemingly innocent encounter quickly spirals into a tale of obsession and dark secrets. Alix, a popular podcaster, finds herself drawn to Josie's enigmatic presence, even as she senses something unsettling beneath the surface.
The premise of the story is compelling, and the initial connection between Alix and Josie sets the stage for a gripping exploration of trust and deceit. Alix's decision to feature Josie on her podcast, even as her instincts caution her against it, adds a layer of tension that keeps readers engaged. As the plot unfolds, we see how Josie's life, rife with complexities and hidden truths, begins to intertwine with Alix's own, leading to increasingly precarious situations.
The pacing of the novel is well-executed, striking a balance between intrigue and suspense. The author skillfully builds tension as Alix begins to uncover the dark secrets Josie has concealed. Just when it seems like Alix has a grip on the situation, Josie vanishes, leaving behind a chilling legacy that thrusts Alix into her own true crime nightmare. This twist is both surprising and effective, propelling the narrative to a thrilling climax.
While the book delivers a solid and entertaining read with plenty of suspense, it does rely on some familiar tropes found in psychological thrillers. However, the character development, especially that of Alix, adds depth to the story, allowing readers to empathize with her plight as she navigates the fallout of her choices.
Overall, this novel is a good solid read that successfully combines elements of mystery and psychological tension. It will appeal to fans of thrillers looking for a story that keeps them guessing while exploring the complexities of human relationships. If you’re in the mood for a compelling tale of secrets and the consequences of trust, this book is definitely worth picking up.

Lisa Jewell did it again with another solid thriller. This book with having you question everything. Including your own sanity.

4.5 stars rounded up. “None of This is True” is the first thriller I’ve devoured in a single day in a long time. The story follows two women who meet by chance in a restaurant and discover they share the same birthday. What begins as a casual friendship soon spirals into something much darker, with secrets, lies, and obsession at the heart of it all.
From the first page to the last, it kept me completely intrigued and engaged. Lisa Jewell masterfully weaves an addictive plot filled with twists that kept me guessing. The pacing was perfect, and the characters were compelling, making it impossible to put down. Jewell strikes the right balance between psychological tension and mystery, delivering a story that’s both unsettling and captivating. Definitely one of her best!

This is a go- to author for me, and this book did not disappoint. Lisa Jewell is one of the best at psychological thrillers, and I love that her books keep me on my toes. I really enjoyed this book, and flew through it quickly.

Holy moly! I knew this was going to be good but I just had absolutely no idea how amazing it really is. I love a twisty story, a unreliable narrator, and an ending that leaves you guessing and this has it all! I can't wait to read more from Jewell!
One of my favorite books this year!
For fans of The Silent Patient.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I was late to read this now bestseller, but I went in blind, except knowing the author was fantastic. I absolutely loved this book! It was full of twists and turns and was exactly the book I needed to kick off my summer reading.

A big thank-you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for giving me a copy of this book for an unbiased review.
3.5/5 - Liked it.
If you enjoy an unreliable set of protagonists, a story filled with twists and turns, and a fast cadence that will keep you glued to the pages of your book - this one's for you. It starts off relatively slowly with familiar tropes as an unsuccessful woman jealously obsessed with another, more vibrant protagonist, who attaches herself to the latter and infects her life with the toxicity of her own. However, the plot soon diverts into several snaking paths as the reader meets a host of unreliable characters, each of whom harbor their own secrets and inner darkness... although the ending provides answers, the reader is left with more questions, key among which is: "is any of this actually true?"
Overall gripping and disturbing, worth a read!
