This book kept me guessing the whole time. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was thrown for a loop whenever I thought I figured it out. I kept thinking about the title and thinking is this true? This is only the second Lisa Jewel book I've read, and I highly recommend it.

I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end! You know something bad happened, but you don’t know what happened, or who did it! The story went back in forth in time in ann intriguing way and the short chapters kept me wanting me to read ‘just one more’! Also, I need to see this Netflix show. I’m picturing Reece Witherspoon as Josie!

This book was a wild ride. It is written from two timeframes. The first is as the events are happening and the second is from the Netflix true crime documentary made on the events that happen. Alix is a podcaster and Josie is, well, I don’t know how to describe Josie without spoilers. Once you get into the book and the lies and manipulation begin, you’ll be hooked. At about the 50% mark, I couldn’t stop reading.

Lisa Jewel will always be an automatic read for me. This one, however, was not my favorite of hers.

"Birthday twins" Alix Summer and Josie Fair meet up on their45th birthday and soon after Josie approaches Alix and asks if she will feature her in her popular podcast as a woman who wants to change things up. Which she definitely does!

Positives:

This one certainly kept me reading. I finished it in 2 days.
Lots of tension
The format with the interviews and the Netflix style trailers.

Negatives:
I feel like it took quite awhile into the book for the action to really begin,
The twists in the characters were a bit too dark for me.
The main character's lack of insight on her toxic relationship with her husband, even at the end when all was revealed.
It was pretty easy to figure out what the main character's real crimes were.

4.5 The Queen of Creepy has done it again. Lisa Jewell has created a world in which my skin was crawling and goose bumps were shivering numerous times. Alix and Josie first meet in a pub and it becomes obvious they are both celebrating their 45th birthday. Upon chit chat, they learn that not only do they share a birthday but were both born in the same hospital. Alix, a podcaster with a troubled marriage, agrees to interview Josie, a part time seamstress in an abusive household, for a podcast on beginning your life anew at an age where things have a need to change - to start new beginnings. Well, it all goes OFF THE RAILS. Jewell is a gifted writer that excels at creep-galore, pacing, suspense and just enough red herrings to keep you wondering. I felt like I was watching a Dateline episode that I couldn't look away from. I had the opportunity to hear Jewell speak at a local indie bookstore in Denver just before the pandemic and I really liked her - found her down to earth, funny and super personable. I actually felt like Alix portrayed much of the characteristics that I saw in Lisa that day. Super entertaining dark read until the very end. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion. None of This is True will be out 8/8/2023.

Fantastic! I’ve been a fan of Lisa Jewell’s writing for years and this might be my new favorite of hers. So twisty and loved the netflix/podcast aspect. I questioned everything while reading this and by the end I’m still not entirely sure what was true and what wasn’t.

“I’ve never heard so much bullshit in my life.”

I couldn’t decide if I should sit on this review until closer to pub day, but I can hardly contain myself with how much I loved this book!

Queen LJ does it again, folks. I finished this 2+ weeks ago and I’m still thinking about it now.

Similar to I Found You, LJ knows how to expertly weave in ominous hints that something terrible has happened, something we don’t yet know. And it becomes impossible to put down because you just NEED to find out!

I love not knowing who to trust, who isn’t who they say they are. It really keeps you on your toes the whole time.

And the twists and revelations were, as always, outstanding. Even with reading the synopsis, I hadn’t a clue what to expect. My suggestion: go in blind and just enjoy the ride.

This is another incredible psychological thriller by Lisa Jewell! This dark and twisted story involving a podcast about a dysfunctional family had me hooked from page one. What is going on in this family? What is the truth? Could not put it down! 5 Stars! I think this may be my favorite Lisa Jewell book so far!

Thanks to NetGalley and the Atria Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I'll be honest- I've read a few books by Lisa Jewell in the past, and while I did enjoy them, they didn't really compare to this particular one. It was well-written and I was hooked from the first page. Apparently Jewell is one of those authors who just get better and better, because I could hardly put this one down. Although I was saddened a bit by something that happened in the end, I don't think it detracts from how GOOD the book is, overall. Definitely one I will recommend.

This is my second Lisa Jewel book and it definitely won’t be my last. She delivers a riveting, dark, twisty novel. The way the author builds suspense throughout the book and surprising you to the end is so compelling it hooked me from the start to the finish.

The story is told as if it is a true crime on Netflix or on a podcast. Alix who meets Josie randomly on their birthdays is interviewing her for her podcast. Although it seems like a harmless idea, Josie entangles Alix in a web of terror. The things Josie shares are quite shocking if they are true.

This novel is a very suspenseful, entertaining book and made me want to read more to find out what happens next. Anyone who loves suspense will really enjoy this book.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria books for an advance copy.

Wow! Once again Lisa Jewell takes you on a wild ride!! I started reading and could not stop. Sure, Josie is odd but terrible things have happened to her… or is she the terrible one? Nothing is what it seems and everyone has an agenda. Such an interesting look at the human psyche. Are people truly evil? Mentally unstable and evil? Do people really think “their truth” is the actual truth? I highly recommend this one!

This book was so captivating from the start. The story is told from Josie and Alix’s perspectives, with additional clips from Alix’s podcast, and the subsequent Netflix documentary. I’m loving the true crime / podcasting storylines when they’re executed well.
From the beginning, something with Josie is off. It’s no secret that she has issues. She seems immediately obsessed with being in Alix’s limelight. I loved the anticipation of where this is going. Although we are let in on bits and pieces of Josie’s story it was quite slow, and we start to feel for her, and the last 1/4 of the book really opens our eyes to who she is.
The story completely changes and our focus shifts to Alix. I’m not sure I loved this part of the book. An ancillary character was brought in and implicated in some of the damage that is done, but then is seemingly let off relatively free.
The relationship with Josie’s daughters was fascinating. I loved the ending and the answers we were left with - or not left with. I love Jewell’s execution of these twisted tales without it feeling consuming for convoluted.
I think this will be the thriller of this summer!

Lisa Jewell was already becoming my favorite author, and this book might've just sealed the deal. I. Loved. It. Couldn't put it down.

A "coincidental" meeting between two birthday twins starts the most unlikely friendship... Josie is a 45 year old who is unsatisfied with her life and is ready to make new beginning for herself. And Alix is 45 year old gorgeous podcaster who is living Josie's dream life. In what is one of the best thrillers I've read in a while, these two women each have something to offer each other. But at what cost?

Buckle up and prepare yourself for a ton of twists and turns. You won't want to put this one down.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

4.5 stars rounded up to 5!

With the handful of Lisa Jewell’s books I’ve read, I’ve found each to be super different from each other but alike in that I am absolutely hooked in from the start and can not stop reading. None Of This Is True definitely continued that trend and I read the first 70% in one sitting because I had no clue where the story was going but was SO fricken here for it.

I genuinely had no clue what this book was really about going in, and I honestly recommend doing the same if you’re able to. So instead I’ll say if you like any of the following, definitely give it a read:
-Any of Lisa Jewel’s books
-True crime podcast elements
-Wholeheartedly not knowing who to trust or believe
-Having the truth slowly fed to you in various pieces leading up to the ending

Thank you so much to Lisa and Atria Books for my advanced copy! Highly recommend picking it up when it publishes August 8th

4.5 stars

Talk about a wild and crazy ride! I've read around 7 or 8 Lisa Jewell books and I do believe I've found my new favorite. A total binge read which is exactly what I want when I pick up a thriller.

While celebrating her 45th birthday, podcaster Alix Summers meets Josie Fair. Turns out Josie is out celebrating her 45th birthday as well. Birthday twins! They run into each other a few days later and after listening to Alix's podcast, Josie is convinced she would be a great guest on the show. This could get interesting!

So I had an uneasy feeling for so much of this story which I think is fun when you are reading a psychological thriller. You know something is off but you just have to wait and see while the author gives you pieces of the puzzle here and there. It's a gripping novel I enjoyed from start to finish.

If you are a Lisa Jewell fan, you'll want to pick this one up ASAP!

Lisa Jewell blows me away yet again!! I devoured None of This Is True in less than 2 days! What I love most were how well all of the characters were written and the ending that I never would have predicted. If you love a fast psychological thriller, you will love this book!!

Creepy! If I had to describe this book in one word, creepy would be the word!

Josie randomly meets Alix, a birthday twin, at a restaurant where by coincidence they are both celebrating their shared birthdate. Josie becomes smitten with Alix's lifestyle, and worms her way into Alix's family and home. Alix sees red flags in Josie's behavior, but she (and we, the reader) does not know if the stories Alix tells her are true.

Writing more would provide spoilers, but be prepared to question everything you read and to be creeped out by the story.

Lies, lies and more lies with a cast of characters makes this a fast paced thriller. This is not my usual type of book but in Lisa Jewell's skilled hands I was completely entertained. I am sure this will be a big summer hit! #NoneOfThisIsTrue

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

I really enjoyed Jewell's newest. I think this is one of her better ones in recent years and it definitely kept me turning the pages. I really really liked the way the book was set up with the Netflix parts along with the regular story. The ending is a bit ambiguous so I do wonder if Jewell will ever write a sequel to this. If so, I would love to read it to see what happens!

When submerged in a world of lies, it's hard to know what is true. In None of This is True, Lisa Jewell takes the reader into this world. As a reader, you think you know, then realize you only know what someone else wants you to "know". Even in the end, do you really know? That depends... Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with an ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review,
