Lisa Jewell is a master at the slow build up. She knows how to set up the story while keeping readers captivated. This book was full of twists and turns galore.it was Tod from a reliable and unreliable narrator point of view. I usually don't care for open endings, but I feel that this one worked since it gave an end resolution to the story. Thank you to Net galley and the publisher for an advanced copy.

Lisa Jewell has done it again with None of This is True! Framed as a Netflix documentary with podcast recordings, I thought it was unique and fast-paced.
Alix is a successful podcaster with a seemingly perfect life: successful husband, lovely home, and two kids.
Josie is her "birthday twin", both celebrating their 45th birthday at the same pub. Josie is awkward and weird, though, but convinces Alix to do a podcast with her because she wants to change her life. Married to a much older man, with 2 adult children, Josie is an unreliable narrator. Is what she telling Alix for the podcast true? Should Alix be concerned when Josie inserts herself into Alix's life?
I really liked the podcast/Netflix documentary style Jewell uses. It sets up the suspense in the book quite well and keeps the reader guessing.
I think I would have liked a different ending, but it was good.
Recommend for fans of Jewell, unreliable narrators, family dysfunction, and a twisty storyline.

Alix is a successful podcaster looking for her next project and Josie is a wallflower looking to share her story. Both of them are celebrating their 45th birthday at a local pub. Alix and Josie share niceties in the restroom about being "birthday twins".
Days later they bump into each other and Josie's story is way more exciting than Alix expected. This leads to a partnership with the opportunity to change both of their lives. But, would the mundane housewife have a few cards up her sleeve?
None Of This Is True is a story driven by infatuation and the quest to achieve importance no matter the consequences.
Lisa Jewell has penned another suspenseful, cunning masterpiece. I read this book in one sitting. It's fast-paced and will have you breathless.
It is being released in August, but it's so worth the wait!
Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for the preview.

So good I read it in one day. Jewell does a masterful job of weaving a web of lies by telling Josie’s “story” through the words of Alia’s podcast. Who’s telling the truth? Which version of the story is true? Even by the surprising, you are still wondering. Highly recommend!

I’d like to thank netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. When Josie meets Alix, a podcaster at a fancy pub, both there celebrating their 45th birthday, they are birthday twins. Josie convinces Alix to make her next podcast about her and her family life, a much older husband, a daughter who ran away and another daughter who doesn’t leave her room. What is really going on with Josie and her family, is it as bad as Josie claims it to be? Told between Josie’s perspective, Alix’s and episodes of the podcast, it is a book you won’t want to put down.

I found this book very compelling and couldn't wait to get back to it to find out what was going to happen even though it was very disturbing. It kept me guessing through the entire book up until the very end. I was surprised that the ending was what it was and was hoping it would be different but I have always enjoyed books by Lisa Jewell and this one did not disappoint!!!

I have read all of this author‘s books, and I think this one is the best by far. From the beginning it’s impossible to tell who is telling the truth, who is lying, who is the manipulator or the person being manipulated and at any given time Your opinion changes just as quickly as you turn the pages. Josie meets Alix at a bar on their collective 45th birthday and is immediately struck by having met her birthday twin. She seems to make a point of seeking out Alix in the following days to start a podcast about her attempts to start her new life together away from the trauma of her life. This will book will have you turning pages as quickly as possible- a great read!

Thanks to @netgalley and @simonandschuster for read number 21 of 2023. @lisajewelluk is one of my favourite authors of all time, and I was thrilled to get to read her latest novel before it’s released in August. Wow! What a story. This might be my favourite Jewell book yet. There are twists right until the very last page. You are made to question what might be true and what might not, & which characters are telling the truth. I love true crime podcasts that are part of fictional stories, and this one was no exception. The book was incredibly fast-paced and so hard to put down. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for sure!

Whoa...like 10 stars whoa! This is Jewell's crowning novel! Josie Fair is her most complex character to date and that is all I will say!

Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC

This book was a slow burn but it kept me turning the pages. At first you’re on Josie’s side and I was believing everything from her perspective. Then there is a switch and you begin to question everything.

Book: None Of This Is True
Author: Lisa Jewell
Publisher: Atria Books
Pub Date: August 8, 2023

WOW! Just wow! I was hooked from the first chapter no wait from the first word! Books like this is why I read! It’s what makes reading exciting! Okay let me collect myself and calm down. Insert pause. Here we go. It starts out seemingly normal. We have all been that woman that has noticed another woman who seems to have it all. Then goes home that night and stalks said woman on social media. I love watching influencers and they aren’t any different than I am. They just record their life. But I’m hooked. I want to see what they are doing just like Josie did with Alix. Speaking of influencers the only thing that I wanted to change in this book is I wanted Alix to have more than 8,000 followers on Instagram. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You can literally feel Josie’s jealously come through the pages. To me when Alix described Josie was basically all in denim and the dog matched a red flag went up! 🚩 Walter told Alix to watch out for Josie…when she doesn’t like the reality of things she finds a reality she prefers. She’s a control freak and you don’t even realize your being controlled. And the ending! My-lanta! Who is telling the truth? Who is lying? This was a masterfully woven story. There is no way they can’t turn this book into a movie. Lisa Jewell is a genius! It’s going to take a lot to beat this book for my number one pick of the year. So dang good.

Thank you Atria Books and NetGalley for this sneak peak! Publication date is August 8, 2023.

In “None of this is True”, Lisa Jewell is back to her best writing in the past few years.

First off, love the dual POV, and the subject matter is both relevant and current (true crime podcast) with both female protagonists displaying dual parts of each one’s personalities through their thoughts and versions of reality).

Loved this book Lisa!

Highly recommend

I adore Lisa Jewell's books and this one was incredible! Alix and Josie are "birthday twins," born on the same day in the same hospital. When Josie sees fashionable and confident podcaster, Alix at her own birthday dinner with her husband, she is both fascinated and jealous of the other woman's charisma and "tribe" of friends. And so she pursues her and begins to share on Alix's podcast even though both of the women have issues with their respective husbands. As usual with Jewell's books, there are twists and turns galore that will have your head spinning until you aren't sure which way is up! Of course I powered through it as I couldn't get enough!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the copy of None Of This Is True by Lisa Jewell. I was intrigued by the description so I requested the book, even though the last Jewell book I read wasn’t for me. I’m so glad I did. As soon as Josie and Alix met in the bathroom, I was hooked. The story was riveting - I kept thinking how strange Josie’s life was, and her obsession with Alix was creepy. I liked the Netflix excerpts of the podcast that gave more characters’ experiences, and I loved the title. The only thing I didn’t love was the facile end, but people who love a shocking twist will probably love it. I am now a Lisa Jewell fan!

"None of This is True" has a podcast Netflix true-crime documentary framing that helped build suspense and intrigue. I read this in one setting. The hard part for me was that none of the characters were very likable. Recommended for fans of Lisa Jewell and of suspense/thriller mysteries. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Two women were born on the same day, the same year, and in the same hospital. Red herrings in this novel kept me on my toes. I did not know what was real and what wasn't. The two women met in a restaurant, celebrating their birthdays. Chaos ensues. Both women have secrets, and one lies so much that it is difficult to determine if she is real. This book was written by one of my favorite authors. A talented and gifted author has written a cannot put down mystery. From the first page...to the last page...mystery and intrigue kept me turning the pages. The characters, some of them, are realistic, while others don't seem to be real. Family and friends complicate matters while the two women attempt to be friends. This book is unusual in that it is difficult to guess what will happen next. I won't write about the ending because that was a huge surprise, and I don't want to spoil it for other readers. This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review (electronically). Thanks to the publisher and to the author for this copy. I look forward to more books by Lisa Jewell.

Holy cow Lisa Jewell has done it again completely blew my mind with this one. Told in 4 parts with a Netflix podcast element like no other book I’ve read in the past it really added to the story and the unraveling of past events. I’m finished and I’m still not even sure who to believe who told the true story or which stories had truth. A masterpiece making its way to the top becoming my new favourite by Jewell

This book kept my attention until the very end. I liked the unique framing of the narrative with a Netflix true crime documentary. It was a fresh take, especially since I’ve read so many books lately that use the generic flashback technique. Some of the characters were painted in broad strokes, but it felt like a real attempt to dissect the characters’ desires and motivations.
