I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
Fast paced, twisty and unpredictable, I was kept guessing all the way through and didn't see the twist at the end coming
An intricate plot and rich character development make this thriller a standout, ensnaring your attention and refusing to let go.
When Simone, Hannah, and Vicky are invited to a getaway by Jodie, they are surprised, since they haven't spoken since the betrayal. But they each have their reasons for going. But when they arrive, it's clear that Jodie didn't invite them. So who did?
Told from each woman's point of view in alternating chapters, it started a bit slow, but really ramped up in the last half of the book.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC!
Clare Seeber is back with another pulse racing psychological thriller. I jumped at the chance to read this when I first heard about being a big fan of the author. But I do have to say that I love the title and book cover. All three things sold it to me. I sure as hell wasn’t disappointed and read this in one sitting, I literally couldn’t tear myself away. It is utterly addictive.

In this book we follow a story told from different characters POV and flicks from the past to present. With short snappy chapters. Building a clever twisty story up, set in a Mediterranean villa. But who will make it out alive is the question?!
The Birthday Reunion gets you questioning all the characters and guessing until the end. It is a story filled full of suspense and mystery and I loved everything about it. I can’t recommend it enough.
Thank you to Jess at Bookouture for a copy and for inviting me to take part on this tour.

This is a story is about four friends; Simone, Hannah, Vicky, and Jodie. These women were friends until one fateful betrayal. But three of them were invited by Jodie to a getaway and find that Jodie did not ivite them .
This thriller was based from each women's point of view. I found this book confusing going back and forth between each point of view and slow.
I actually put this book down and picked it up again later on but still found it hard to get through.
The Birthday Reunion
When three friends, Simone, Vicky, and Hannah all receive invitations from their ex-fourth Jodie to a lavish all inclusive Mediterranean getaway for Jodie’s birthday, they don’t know what to think. They haven’t spoken to Jodie in years since she betrayed them. Have things changed? Are they willing to forgive her and move in? Maybe a few days in paradise is the perfect setting to make things right? Unfortunately, once they arrive on the private island off the coast of Ibiza, they begin to realize Jodie didn’t even invite them. Who did, and what do they want?
Seeber’s “The Birthday Reunion” is a great concept for a book and that’s about it. Unfortunately nothing really happens until about 70% of the way through, and still when the twist comes it’s really bland. The setting was great and well described, the book’s only saving grace. 2/5 stars for a finish-able book with a good setting, but not much else.
Thank you to netgalley for an arc of this book!
This was such a disappointment… I really thought the premise was interesting enough and that it could end up being a really good story that unravelled as I got through the book. But the ending was anticlimactic and disappointing. There wasn’t enough going on to really feel like someone was out to get someone in the house.
I didn’t like any of the characters, they were all quite annoying and all over the place and by the end all kind of merged so I couldn’t tell who was who. The chapters were confusing and sometimes didn’t know who’s chapter it was or where you were in the story. I didn’t massively like the writing or the writing style.
Yeah overall not one for me so I wouldn’t be revisiting this or recommending to anyone
Simone, Hannah and Vicky receive an invitation to a lavish birthday party from their former friend Jodie in Ibiza.
They all accept the invitation even though they haven't spoken to Jodie in years.
But all is not what it seems, Jodie is not expecting them and she definitely did not invite them!!
This was a great gripping read, the chapters are short and before I knew it I had finished this amazing book.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
I found this a little confusing with the going back & the now chapters... It took me a minute to get where I was at. Not a bad read though, it kept me entertained & reading on to find out what was going to happen next.
I really liked the premise of the book, and the characters were fun to follow. However, the story moved at a slower pace and things don't start to pick up until later in the book. The ending left me a bit unsatisfied and I was trying to piece together things myself.
This book had me hooked, but i'm not sure if for good reasons LOL. It was more that the author ended chapters JUST as the story was getting good, and then would go back in time, so by the time the next reveal happened - I no longer cared but I NEEDED to know what was going to happen.
I felt like there was way to much going on at once and far to many storylines jumbled together so it was easy to get confused who was who and what was what.
This is very much a slow burn book, and I just prefer my thrillers to be slightly faster paced. I loved the short chapters, but wasn’t really a fan of any of the main characters.
A big problem for me was that while the chapters in the present were labelled as to the point of view character, the chapters in the past were not and I got confused trying to work out who's perspective it was meant to be.
This book really just took me for a ride. I loved the build up, the character development, and the writing. I would definitely read more from this author!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me an advance copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

I didn’t enjoy this one so much as I’d hoped it wasn’t what I expected. I did finish it but was disappointed in it. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I really loved this book, it had so many twists and was suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put it down and more importantly I didn’t want to

5/5 stars
Simone,Hannah and Vicky all receive birthday invitations for former friend Jodies birthday in Ibiza but all have reasons for not wanting to attend but also wanting to go for unanswered reasons in their pasts
Told in small chapters from each woman this is definitely a one more chapter read and thoroughly enjoyed it
This has been a great read from beginning to end. Who doesn’t need a reunion story in their life? This has been everything I had hoped for and more.
The friendships have been a real strong part of this book and something I have loved. The mystery has been tense and suspenseful.
This is well written and I have been transported. I have read this author previously and this is better again.
I loved the short chapters, they have really helped keep my attention span for this one. I’ve been craving more and more as I’ve read.
This has been a great read that I struggled to put down. I absolutely recommend this book to others.

Honestly, I hated this. I’m sorry. The writing was good. Fast and easy chapters that I wanted to read, but the story line itself was painful.
It starts off well enough with the girls receiving their anonymous invites to their old friends birthday party and it’s interesting to see how they end up going because they all immediately do not want to go. However, all of the creepy tension and such on the island and getting to the island is, for lack of better term, lame. I wasn’t creeped out, or worried. It seemed like they were all there and no one knew why and instead of trying to enjoy themselves everyone was just mad and on edge. There watered so many times the author tried to create suspense leaving a chapter open ended or not revealing everything right away, but then the next chapter was a different person and sometimes the open ended questions were never really answered.
By the second half of the book I was just reading to finish it and I found it unorganized and messy. The story line was all over the place and I found things to be missing outright which made it harder to understand and not thoroughly explained.
